< Hosea 13 >
1 When Ephraim, spake, there was terror, exalted was, he, in Israel, —but, when he became guilty with Baal, then he died.
Sɛ Efraim kasa a, na nnipa ho popo; wɔma no so wɔ Israelman mu. Nanso Baalsom nti, onyaa afɔbu na owui.
2 Now, therefore they go on to sin, and have made them a Molten Thing out of their silver, after the notion of idols, the workmanship of craftsmen, all of it! Of them, are they saying—Ye sacrificers of men! The Great Calf, shall ye surely kiss!
Afei wɔkɔ so yɛ bɔne ara; wɔde wɔn dwetɛ yɛ ahoni ma wɔn ho, nsɛsode no nyinaa no. Adwumfo no nam nyansakwan so na ayeyɛ. Wɔka nnipa yi ho asɛm se, “Wɔde nnipa bɔ afɔre na wofew nantwimma ahoni ano.”
3 Therefore, shall they become like the morning cloud, and like the dew early departing, —like chaff storm-driven out of the threshing-floor, and like smoke out of a chimney.
Ɛno nti, wɔbɛyɛ sɛ anɔpa omununkum sɛ anɔpa bosu a etu yera, sɛ ntɛtɛ a ehuw fi awiporowbea sɛ wusiw a ɛfa mfɛnsere mu kɔ.
4 Yet, I, Yahweh, have been thy God from the land of Egypt, —and, god beside me, shalt thou not acknowledge, for, saviour, is there none besides me.
“Nanso mene Awurade wo Nyankopɔn, a miyii wo fii Misraim. Nnye Onyankopɔn biara nto mu sɛ me, anaa Ogyefo biara sɛ me.
5 I, tended thee in the desert, —in a land parched with drought:
Mehwɛɛ wo wɔ nweatam so, asase a so yɛ hyew yiye no so.
6 Whenever they were pastured, then were they satisfied, They were satisfied, and their heart, was lifted up, —because of this, they forgat me.
Memaa wɔn aduan no, wodi mee; wɔmee no, wɔyɛɛ ahantan; na wɔn werɛ fii me.
7 Therefore am I become to them as a lion, —As a leopard by the way, do I watch.
Enti mɛtow ahyɛ wɔn so sɛ gyata, mɛtɛw wɔn wɔ akwan ho sɛ ɔsebɔ.
8 I will fall upon them as a bear bereaved, and will read asunder the enclosure of their heart, —that I may devour them there, like a lioness, the wild beast of the field, shall tear them in pieces.
Mɛtow ahyɛ wɔn so na matetew wɔn mu te sɛ sisi bi a wɔawia ne mma. Mɛwe wɔn te sɛ gyata; wuram aboa besunsuan wɔn mu.
9 It hath utterly destroyed thee, O Israel, for it was against me, as thy helper!
“Wɔasɛe wo, Israel, efisɛ woasɔre atia me, me a meyɛ wo boafo.
10 Where is thy king, then, that he may save thee throughout all thy cities? and thy judges, concerning whom thou saidst, Oh give me a king and rulers?
Wo hene wɔ he na wabegye wo? Wo sodifo a wɔwɔ wo nkurow nyinaa so no wɔ he, wɔn a wokaa faa wɔn ho se, ‘Ma me ɔhene ne ahenemma’ no?
11 I might give thee a king in mine anger, and take him away in my wrath.
Enti mʼabufuw mu, memaa wo ɔhene, na mʼanibere mu no, miyii no hɔ.
12 Bound up, is the iniquity of Ephraim, stored away, his sin.
Efraim afɔdi no wɔaboaboa ano wɔakyerɛw ne bɔne agu hɔ.
13 The pangs of a woman in labour, shall overtake him, —he, is a son, not wise, for, now, he cannot stand still, when children are about to be born.
Ɔbɛte ɔyaw te sɛ ɔbea a ɔreko awo, na abofra no nnim nyansa nti; sɛ bere no du a, ɔmma awotwaa no ano.
14 Out of the hand of hades, will I ransom them, out of death, will I redeem them, —Where is thy pestilence, O death? Where thy plague, O hades? Repentance, shall be hid from mine eyes. (Sheol )
“Mɛpata agye wɔn afi ɔda tumi mu. Megye wɔn afi owu nsam. Owu, wo nwowɔe wɔ he? Asaman, wo sɛe wɔ he? “Merennya ayamhyehye biara, (Sheol )
15 Though, he, among brethren, be fruitful, there shall come in an east wind, the blast of Yahweh out of the desert coming up, that his spring, may dry up, and his fountain, be exhausted, he, will rob the treasure-house of all the vessels of delight.
mpo sɛ ɔyɛ yiye wɔ ne nuanom mu a. Apuei mframa a efi Awurade hɔ bɛba, ɛbɛbɔ afi nweatam so; osu rentɔ asusowbere na nʼabura bɛyow. Wɔbɛfom ne koradan mu nneɛma nea ɛsom bo no nyinaa.
16 Samaria, shall be held guilty, for she hath rebelled against her God, By the sword, shall they fall, their infants, shall be dashed to the ground, and, his women with child, shall be ripped up.
Ɛsɛ sɛ nnipa a wɔwɔ Samaria gye wɔn afɔdi to mu, efisɛ wɔayɛ dɔm atia wɔn Nyankopɔn. Wɔbɛtotɔ wɔ afoa ano; wɔbɛtotow wɔn mmofra ahwehwe fam, wɔn mmaa a wɔanyinsɛn nso wɔbɛpaapae wɔn mu.”
