Hosea 12
1 Ephraim, feedeth on wind, and pursueth the east wind, all the day, falsehood and force, doth he magnify, —and, a covenant with Assyria, would they solemnize, and, oil into Egypt, must be borne along.
ইফ্রয়িম বাতাস খায়; সে সারাদিন পুবালি বাতাসের পিছু ধাওয়া করে, এবং মিথ্যাচার ও সহিংসতার বৃদ্ধি ঘটায়। সে আসিরিয়ার সঙ্গে মৈত্রীচুক্তি করে ও মিশরে জলপাইয়ের তেল পাঠায়।
2 But, a controversy, hath Yahweh with Judah, —so that he may bring punishment on Jacob, according to his ways, According to his doings, repay him.
সদাপ্রভু যিহূদার বিরুদ্ধে এক অভিযোগ আনবেন; তিনি যাকোবকে তার জীবনাচরণ অনুযায়ী দণ্ড দেবেন তার কর্ম অনুযায়ী তাকে প্রতিফল দেবেন।
3 In the womb, took he his brother by the heel; and, in his manly vigour, strove he with God:
মায়ের গর্ভে সে তার অগ্রজের গোড়ালি ধরেছিল; প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক হয়ে সে ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে মল্লযুদ্ধ করেছিল।
4 Yea he strove against a Messenger, and prevailed, he wept, and made supplication unto him, —At Bethel, he found him, and, there, he spake with us;
সে স্বর্গদূতের সঙ্গে মল্লযুদ্ধ করে বিজয়ী হয়েছিল; সে সজল নয়নে তাঁর কৃপা ভিক্ষা করেছিল। সে বেথেলে তাঁর সন্ধান পেয়েছিল এবং সেখানে তাঁর সঙ্গে করেছিল কথোপকথন।
5 And, Yahweh, is God of host, —Yahweh, is his memorial.
তিনি সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, সদাপ্রভুই তাঁর স্মরণীয় নাম!
6 Thou, therefore, by thy God, shalt return, —lovingkindness and justice, do thou keep, so wait thou for thy God, continually.
কিন্তু তোমাকে অবশ্যই তোমার ঈশ্বরের কাছে ফিরে আসতে হবে; তাই ভালোবাসা ও ন্যায়বিচার রক্ষা করো এবং সবসময় তোমার ঈশ্বরের প্রতীক্ষায় থাকো।
7 A trafficker! in his hand, are balances of deceit, to oppress, he loveth.
ব্যবসায়ী ছলনাপূর্ণ দাঁড়িপাল্লা ব্যবহার করে, সে প্রতারণা করতে ভালোবাসে।
8 So then Ephraim said, Surely I have gotten me riches, I have found wealth for myself, —in all my toils, they cannot find in me perversity which is sin.
ইফ্রয়িম গর্ব করে, “আমি অত্যন্ত ধনী; আমি বিস্তর ধনসম্পদের অধিকারী হয়েছি। আমার এইসব ধনসম্পদের ঐশ্বর্যের মধ্যে তারা কোনো অধর্ম বা পাপ খুঁজে পাবে না।”
9 But, I, Yahweh, have been thy God, from the land of Egypt, —I will yet make thee dwell in tents, as in the days of appointed meeting.
“আমি সদাপ্রভু, তোমার ঈশ্বর, যে তোমাকে মিশর থেকে মুক্ত করে এনেছে; আমি তোমাকে আবার তাঁবুতে বসবাস করাব, যেমন তুমি তোমার নির্ধারিত উৎসবের দিনগুলিতে করতে।
10 And I will lay my word upon the prophets, yea, I myself, have magnified, vision, —and, by the hand of the prophets, will I use similitudes.
আমি ভাববাদীদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছি, তাদের বহু দর্শন দিয়েছি ও তাদের মাধ্যমে বহু রূপক কাহিনি বর্ণনা করেছি।”
11 If, Gilead, is in sorrow, surely false, have they been, In Gilgal, have they sacrificed, bullocks, —their very altars, shall become as heaps upon the furrows of the field.
গিলিয়দ কি দুর্জন? এর বাসিন্দারা অপদার্থ! তারা কি গিল্গলে ষাঁড় বলিদান করে? তাদের বেদিগুলি হবে মাঠের আল বরাবর স্থাপিত পাথর খণ্ডের মতো।
12 When Jacob fled to the country of Syria, then Israel served for a wife, and, for a wife, he watched over a flock.
যাকোব অরাম দেশে পলায়ন করেছিল; ইস্রায়েল স্ত্রী পাওয়ার জন্য সেবাকর্ম করেছিল, এবং তার জন্য কন্যাপণ দিতে সে পশুপালনের কাজ করেছিল।
13 And, by a prophet, Yahweh, brought up, Israel out of Egypt, —and, by a prophet, was he watched over.
সদাপ্রভু মিশর থেকে ইস্রায়েলকে মুক্ত করে আনার জন্য এক ভাববাদীকে ব্যবহার করলেন; এক ভাববাদীর দ্বারা তিনি তাদের তত্ত্বাবধান করলেন।
14 Ephraim hath provoked, very bitterly, —his own blood, therefore, upon him, will he leave, and, his reproach, shall his Lord, bring back to him.
কিন্তু ইফ্রয়িম ভীষণভাবে তাঁর ক্রোধের উদ্রেক করেছে; তার প্রভু তার রক্তপাতের অপরাধ তাঁর উপরেই বর্তাবেন ও তার উপেক্ষার কারণে তাকে শাস্তি দেবেন।
