Hebrews 1
1 Whereas, in many parts and in many ways of old, God spake unto the fathers, in the prophets,
Sittenkuin Jumala muinoin monesti ja monella tapaa oli puhunut isille profeettain kautta,
2 At the end of these days, He hath spoken unto us in his Son, —whom he hath appointed heir of all things, through whom also he hath made the ages; (aiōn g165)
on hän näinä viimeisinä päivinä puhunut meille Pojan kautta, jonka hän on pannut kaiken perilliseksi, jonka kautta hän myös on maailman luonut (aiōn g165)
3 Who, being an eradiated brightness of his glory, and an exact representation of his very being, also bearing up all things by the utterance of his power, purification of sins, having achieved, sat down on the right hand of the majesty in high places:
ja joka, ollen hänen kirkkautensa säteily ja hänen olemuksensa kuva ja kantaen kaikki voimansa sanalla, on, toimitettuaan puhdistuksen synneistä, istunut Majesteetin oikealle puolelle korkeuksissa,
4 By so much becoming superior to the messengers, by as much as, going beyond them, he hath inherited a more distinguished name.
tullen enkeleitä niin paljoa korkeammaksi, kuin hänen perimänsä nimi on jalompi kuin heidän.
5 For unto which of the messengers said he at any time—My Son, art, thou, I, this day have begotten thee? and again—I, will become, his father, and, he, shall become my Son?
Sillä kenelle enkeleistä hän koskaan on sanonut: "Sinä olet minun Poikani, tänä päivänä minä sinut synnytin"; ja taas: "Minä olen oleva hänen Isänsä, ja hän on oleva minun Poikani"?
6 But, whensoever he again introduceth the first-begotten into the habitable earth, he saith—And let all God’s messengers worship him!
Ja siitä, kun hän jälleen tuo esikoisensa maailmaan, hän sanoo: "Ja kumartakoot häntä kaikki Jumalan enkelit".
7 Even as to the messengers, indeed, he saith—Who maketh his messengers, winds, and his ministers of state, a fiery flame;
Ja enkeleistä hän sanoo: "Hän tekee enkelinsä tuuliksi ja palvelijansa tulen liekiksi";
8 but, as to the Son, —Thy throne, O God, is unto times age-abiding, and—A sceptre of equity, is the sceptre of his kingdom, (aiōn g165)
mutta Pojasta: "Jumala, sinun valtaistuimesi pysyy aina ja iankaikkisesti, ja sinun valtakuntasi valtikka on oikeuden valtikka. (aiōn g165)
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated lawlessness, —For this cause, hath God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of exultation, beyond thy partners;
Sinä rakastit vanhurskautta ja vihasit laittomuutta; sentähden on Jumala, sinun Jumalasi, voidellut sinua iloöljyllä, enemmän kuin sinun osaveljiäsi."
10 and—Thou, by way of beginning, Lord, the earth, didst found, and, the works of thy hands, are the heavens, —
Ja: "Sinä, Herra, olet alussa maan perustanut, ja taivaat ovat sinun kättesi tekoja;
11 They, shall perish, but, thou, abidest still, and, all, as a mantle, shall be worn out,
ne katoavat, mutta sinä pysyt, ja ne vanhenevat kaikki niinkuin vaate,
12 And, as if a robe, wilt thou fold them up, —as a mantle, and they shall be changed; but, thou, art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
ja niinkuin vaipan sinä ne käärit, niinkuin vaatteen, ja ne muuttuvat; mutta sinä olet sama, eivätkä sinun vuotesi lopu".
13 But, to which of the messengers, hath he said, at any time—Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy foes thy footstool?
Kenelle enkeleistä hän koskaan on sanonut: "Istu minun oikealle puolelleni, kunnes minä panen sinun vihollisesi sinun jalkojesi astinlaudaksi"?
14 Are they not, all, spirits, doing public service, —for ministry, sent forth, for the sake of them who are about to inherit salvation?
Eivätkö he kaikki ole palvelevia henkiä, palvelukseen lähetettyjä niitä varten, jotka saavat autuuden periä?
