Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, saying:
Darius lengvaipoh kal kum ni lhinna, Lhajing nisim som ni le ko nin, Judah gamvaipo Shealtiel chapa Zerubabel le thempu chungnung Jehozadak chapa Jeshua henga Pakai in Haggai a konin thu ahinseiye.
2 Thus, speaketh Yahweh of hosts, saying, —This people, have said, Not yet hath come the time for the house of Yahweh to be built.
“Van Pakai chun hitin aseiye: Hiche miten, ‘Pakai hou in sahphatna ding avatna laiye atiuve.’”
3 Therefore hath come the word of Yahweh by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
Hijeh chun Pakai in Haggai themgao kamin ahin seiye:
4 Is it a time that, ye yourselves, should be dwelling in your own paneled houses? and, this house, be in ruins?
“I-atileh ka in asesa kijam’a nang ho in nomtah taha chen nahiuvem?
5 Now, therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart unto your own experience—
Hiche hi Van Pakai sei ahi: Ipiti nahiu ham phaten kiveuvin!
6 Ye have sown much, but have brought in little, have eaten, and not been filled, have drunk, and not been satisfied with drink, have clothed you, and none hath been warm, —and, he that hath hired himself out, hath put his wages into a bag with holes.
Muchi tamtah natudoh naovin, ahinlah lhomcha bou nakiat doh uve. An nane naovin, ahinlah navaset thei pouve. Twi nadon naovin, ahinlah na dangchah-u achimdeh poi. Von na kivon naovin, ahinlah lum nasah jou pouve. Na tohman jouseu jong akoina sumdip avangsa bangin amang pai ji'e!
7 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart to your own experience:
Van Pakai chun hitin aseiye: Ipiti nahiu ham phaten kiveuvin!
8 Ascend the mountain—and bring in wood and build the house, —that I may be pleased therewith and get myself glory, saith Yahweh.
Tun thinglhang langa kal’uvin, thing gasuivin lang, ka in sa phauvin. Chutileh keima kalung lhaiding chule kaloupi thei ding ahi, tin Pakai in aseiye.
9 When ye looked for much, then lo! it came to little, when ye brought it home, then I did blow into it, — Because of what? Demandeth Yahweh of hosts, Because of my house, the which is in ruins, while ye keep running every man to his own house.
Tohga tampi nakineppi uve, ahinlah na vaicha cheh jouve. Chule na tohga’u in nahin pohlut tengu, ka sem mangpeh jitaove. Ipijha ham? Ajeh chu ka in ase san akijamin, ahinlah nang ho amitaki’in ama in nomtah tah kisahnan naki salel uve, tin Van Pakai sepai chun aseiye.
10 Wherefore—on your account, have the heavens, held back, dew, — and, the earth, held back her fruit;
Nang ho jeh'a van mun jousen gotwi daitwi atuhkih’a, chule leiset in jong ga asemdoh lou ahi.
11 And I have called for drought, upon the land and upon the mountains, and upon the corn and upon the new wine and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground, bringeth forth, —and upon man, and upon beast, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Na louma dung jouse le na thinglhang jouseuva nichang kasat sahding – hiche nichang sat chun chang jouse agotsah ding, lengpi phung jouse jong, olive phung jouse jong, chule muchi chivo dang jouse jong agotlhah sah soh ding, hichun nang le na gancha jong kel natohsah diu, chule na tohga jouseu jong aboncha asuhset soh kei ding ahi.”
12 Then hearkened Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of Yahweh their God, and unto the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God, had sent him, —and the people, stood in awe, before Yahweh.

13 Then spake Haggai the messenger of Yahweh, in the message of Yahweh, to the people saying, —I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh.
Hijeh chun Pakai thangkouva pang Haggai chun mipi jaha Pakai thupeh chu hitin: “Keiman ka umpi jing nauve, tin Pakai in aseiye,” atin ahi.
14 Thus did Yahweh, stir up—the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and the spirit of Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, —and they came in and did service in the house of Yahweh of hosts their God:
Hijeh chun Pakai in Judah gamvaipo Shealtiel chapa Zerubbabel lungthim ahin, thempu chungnung Jehozadak chapa Jeshua lunghtim ahin, chuleh Pathen mite ahingdoh amoh chengse lunghtim atildoh in ahi. Hiti chun van Pakai, a Pathenu hou in chu asapan taovin ahi.
15 on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, —in the second year of Darius the king.
Darius lengvaipoh kal kumni lhinna, lhalam som ni le khat nia atohpat’u ahi.
