Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, saying:
| فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ لِدَارِيُوسَ ٱلْمَلِكِ، فِي ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلسَّادِسِ فِي أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ، كَانَتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ عَنْ يَدِ حَجَّي ٱلنَّبِيِّ إِلَى زَرُبَّابِلَ بْنِ شَأَلْتِيئِيلَ وَالِي يَهُوذَا، وَإِلَى يَهُوشَعَ بْنِ يَهُوصَادِقَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ قَائِلًا: | ١ |
2 Thus, speaketh Yahweh of hosts, saying, —This people, have said, Not yet hath come the time for the house of Yahweh to be built.
| «هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ قَائِلًا: هَذَا ٱلشَّعْبُ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱلْوَقْتَ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ وَقْتَ بِنَاءِ بَيْتِ ٱلرَّبِّ». | ٢ |
3 Therefore hath come the word of Yahweh by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
| فَكَانَتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ عَنْ يَدِ حَجَّي ٱلنَّبِيِّ قَائِلًا: | ٣ |
4 Is it a time that, ye yourselves, should be dwelling in your own paneled houses? and, this house, be in ruins?
| «هَلِ ٱلْوَقْتُ لَكُمْ أَنْتُمْ أَنْ تَسْكُنُوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمُ ٱلْمُغَشَّاةِ، وَهَذَا ٱلْبَيْتُ خَرَابٌ؟ | ٤ |
5 Now, therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart unto your own experience—
| وَٱلْآنَ فَهَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ: ٱجْعَلُوا قَلْبَكُمْ عَلَى طُرُقِكُمْ. | ٥ |
6 Ye have sown much, but have brought in little, have eaten, and not been filled, have drunk, and not been satisfied with drink, have clothed you, and none hath been warm, —and, he that hath hired himself out, hath put his wages into a bag with holes.
| زَرَعْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَدَخَّلْتُمْ قَلِيلًا. تَأْكُلُونَ وَلَيْسَ إِلَى ٱلشَّبَعِ. تَشْرَبُونَ وَلَا تَرْوُونَ. تَكْتَسُونَ وَلَا تَدْفَأُونَ. وَٱلْآخِذُ أُجْرَةً يَأْخُذُ أُجْرَةً لِكِيسٍ مَنْقُوبٍ. | ٦ |
7 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart to your own experience:
| «هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ: ٱجْعَلُوا قَلْبَكُمْ عَلَى طُرُقِكُمْ. | ٧ |
8 Ascend the mountain—and bring in wood and build the house, —that I may be pleased therewith and get myself glory, saith Yahweh.
| اِصْعَدُوا إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ وَأْتُوا بِخَشَبٍ وَٱبْنُوا ٱلْبَيْتَ، فَأَرْضَى عَلَيْهِ وَأَتَمَجَّدَ، قَالَ ٱلرَّبُّ. | ٨ |
9 When ye looked for much, then lo! it came to little, when ye brought it home, then I did blow into it, — Because of what? Demandeth Yahweh of hosts, Because of my house, the which is in ruins, while ye keep running every man to his own house.
| ٱنْتَظَرْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَإِذَا هُوَ قَلِيلٌ. وَلَمَّا أَدْخَلْتُمُوهُ ٱلْبَيْتَ نَفَخْتُ عَلَيْهِ. لِمَاذَا؟ يَقُولُ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ. لِأَجْلِ بَيْتِي ٱلَّذِي هُوَ خَرَابٌ، وَأَنْتُمْ رَاكِضُونَ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ. | ٩ |
10 Wherefore—on your account, have the heavens, held back, dew, — and, the earth, held back her fruit;
| لِذَلِكَ مَنَعَتِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتُ مِنْ فَوْقِكُمُ ٱلنَّدَى، وَمَنَعَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ غَلَّتَهَا. | ١٠ |
11 And I have called for drought, upon the land and upon the mountains, and upon the corn and upon the new wine and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground, bringeth forth, —and upon man, and upon beast, and upon all the labour of the hands.
| وَدَعَوْتُ بِٱلْحَرِّ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ وَعَلَى ٱلْحِنْطَةِ وَعَلَى ٱلْمِسْطَارِ وَعَلَى ٱلزَّيْتِ وَعَلَى مَا تُنْبِتُهُ ٱلْأَرْضُ، وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَعَلَى ٱلْبَهَائِمِ، وَعَلَى كُلِّ أَتْعَابِ ٱلْيَدَيْنِ». | ١١ |
12 Then hearkened Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of Yahweh their God, and unto the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God, had sent him, —and the people, stood in awe, before Yahweh.
| حِينَئِذٍ سَمِعَ زَرُبَّابِلُ بْنُ شَأَلْتِيئِيلَ وَيَهُوشَعُ بْنُ يَهُوصَادِقَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ، وَكُلُّ بَقِيَّةِ ٱلشَّعْبِ صَوْتَ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَهِهِمْ وَكَلَامَ حَجَّي ٱلنَّبِيِّ كَمَا أَرْسَلَهُ ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُهُمْ. وَخَافَ ٱلشَّعْبُ أَمَامَ وَجْهِ ٱلرَّبِّ. | ١٢ |
13 Then spake Haggai the messenger of Yahweh, in the message of Yahweh, to the people saying, —I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh.
| فَقَالَ حَجَّي رَسُولُ ٱلرَّبِّ بِرِسَالَةِ ٱلرَّبِّ لِجَمِيعِ ٱلشَّعْبِ قَائِلًا: «أَنَا مَعَكُمْ، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ». | ١٣ |
14 Thus did Yahweh, stir up—the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and the spirit of Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, —and they came in and did service in the house of Yahweh of hosts their God:
| وَنَبَّهَ ٱلرَّبُّ رُوحَ زَرُبَّابِلَ بْنِ شَأَلْتِيئِيلَ وَالِي يَهُوذَا، وَرُوحَ يَهُوشَعَ بْنِ يَهُوصَادِقَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ، وَرُوحَ كُلِّ بَقِيَّةِ ٱلشَّعْبِ. فَجَاءُوا وَعَمِلُوا ٱلشُّغْلَ فِي بَيْتِ رَبِّ ٱلْجُنُودِ إِلَهِهِمْ، | ١٤ |
15 on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, —in the second year of Darius the king.
| فِي ٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلرَّابِعِ وَٱلْعِشْرِينَ مِنَ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلسَّادِسِ، فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ لِدَارِيُوسَ ٱلْمَلِكِ. | ١٥ |
