Genesis 9
1 So God blessed Noah and his sons, —and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;
Dio benedisse Noè e i suoi figli e disse loro: «Siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi e riempite la terra.
2 and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, —over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, —into your hand, have they been given.
Il timore e il terrore di voi sia in tutte le bestie selvatiche e in tutto il bestiame e in tutti gli uccelli del cielo. Quanto striscia sul suolo e tutti i pesci del mare sono messi in vostro potere.
3 As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, —Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
Quanto si muove e ha vita vi servirà di cibo: vi do tutto questo, come gia le verdi erbe.
4 Yet flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat;
Soltanto non mangerete la carne con la sua vita, cioè il suo sangue.
5 And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, —and from the hand of man From the hand of each one’s brother, will I require the life of man:
Del sangue vostro anzi, ossia della vostra vita, io domanderò conto; ne domanderò conto ad ogni essere vivente e domanderò conto della vita dell'uomo all'uomo, a ognuno di suo fratello.
6 He that sheddeth man’s blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, —For, in the image of God, made he man.
Chi sparge il sangue dell'uomo dall'uomo il suo sangue sarà sparso, perché ad immagine di Dio Egli ha fatto l'uomo.
7 Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
E voi, siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi, siate numerosi sulla terra e dominatela».
8 And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
Dio disse a Noè e ai sui figli con lui:
9 I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, —and with your seed after you;
«Quanto a me, ecco io stabilisco la mia alleanza coni vostri discendenti dopo di voi;
10 and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, —of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
con ogni essere vivente che è con voi, uccelli, bestiame e bestie selvatiche, con tutti gli animali che sono usciti dall'arca.
11 yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, —neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
Io stabilisco la mia alleanza con voi: non sarà più distrutto nessun vivente dalle acque del diluvio, né più il diluvio devasterà la terra».
12 And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, —to age-abiding generations: —
«Questo è il segno dell'alleanza, che io pongo tra me e voi e tra ogni essere vivente che è con voi per le generazioni eterne. Dio disse:
13 My bow, have I set in the cloud, —and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
Il mio arco pongo sulle nubi ed esso sarà il segno dell'alleanza tra me e la terra.
14 and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, —and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
Quando radunerò le nubi sulla terra e apparirà l'arco sulle nubi
15 then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, —that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
ricorderò la mia alleanza che è tra me e voi e tra ogni essere che vive in ogni carne e noi ci saranno più le acque per il diluvio, per distruggere ogni carne.
16 so the bow shall be in the cloud, —and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
L'arco sarà sulle nubi e io lo guarderò per ricordare l'alleanza eterna tra Dio e ogni essere che vive in ogni carne che è sulla terra».
17 And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
Disse Dio a Noè: «Questo è il segno dell'alleanza che io ho stabilito tra me e ogni carne che è sulla terra».
18 And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were—Shem and Ham and Japheth, —now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.
I figli di Noè che uscirono dall'arca furono Sem, Cam e Iafet; Cam è il padre di Canaan.
19 These three, were the sons of Noah, —and from these, was all the earth overspread.
Questi tre sono i figli di Noè e da questi fu popolata tutta la terra.
20 And Noah began to be a husbandman, —so he planted a vineyard:
Ora Noè, coltivatore della terra, cominciò a piantare una vigna.
21 and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
Avendo bevuto il vino, si ubriacò e giacque scoperto all'interno della sua tenda.
22 And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father’s shame, —and told his two brethren outside.
Cam, padre di Canaan, vide il padre scoperto e raccontò la cosa ai due fratelli che stavano fuori.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
Allora Sem e Iafet presero il mantello, se lo misero tutti e due sulle spalle e, camminando a ritroso, coprirono il padre scoperto; avendo rivolto la faccia indietro, non videro il padre scoperto.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, —and came to know what his youngest son had done to him.
Quando Noè si fu risvegliato dall'ebbrezza, seppe quanto gli aveva fatto il figlio minore;
25 And he said, Accursed be Canaan, —a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
«Sia maledetto Canaan! Schiavo degli schiavi sarà per i suoi fratelli!». allora disse:
26 And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, —And let Canaan be their servant:
Disse poi: «Benedetto il Signore, Dio di Sem, Canaan sia suo schiavo!
27 God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
Dio dilati Iafet e questi dimori nelle tende di Sem, Canaan sia suo schiavo!».
28 And Noah lived after the flood, —three hundred and fifty years:
Noè visse, dopo il diluvio, trecentocinquanta anni.
29 so, all the days of Noah, were—nine hundred and fifty years, —and he died.
L'intera vita di Noè fu di novecentocinquanta anni, poi morì.
