Genesis 8
1 And God remembered Noah, and all the wild—beasts and all the tame-beasts that were with him in the ark, —and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided;
௧தேவன் நோவாவையும், அவனுடன் கப்பலிலிருந்த அனைத்து காட்டுமிருகங்களையும், அனைத்து நாட்டுமிருகங்களையும் நினைவுகூர்ந்து, பூமியின்மேல் காற்றை வீசச்செய்தார். அப்பொழுது தண்ணீர் குறையத் தொடங்கியது.
2 and the fountains of the roaring-deep were shut, and the windows of the heavens, —and the heavy rain was restrained from the heavens;
௨ஆழத்தின் ஊற்றுக்கண்களும், வானத்தின் மதகுகளும் அடைபட்டன; வானத்து மழையும் நின்றுபோனது.
3 and the waters returned from off the earth they went on returning, —and so the waters decreased at the end of a hundred and fifty days.
௩தண்ணீர் பூமியிலிருந்து நாளுக்குநாள் வற்றிக்கொண்டே வந்தது; 150 நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு தண்ணீர் குறைந்தது.
4 And the ark rested, in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, —on the mountains of Ararat.
௪ஏழாம் மாதம் பதினேழாம் தேதியிலே கப்பல் அரராத் என்னும் மலைகளின்மேல் தங்கினது.
5 But, the waters went on decreasing, until the tenth month, —in the tenth [month], on the first of the month, were seen the tops of the mountains.
௫பத்தாம் மாதம்வரைக்கும் தண்ணீர் குறைந்துகொண்டே வந்தது; பத்தாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே மலைச்சிகரங்கள் காணப்பட்டன.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made;
௬40 நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு, நோவா தான் கப்பலில் செய்திருந்த ஜன்னலைத் திறந்து,
7 and sent forth a raven, —and it kept going forth and returning, until the drying up of the waters from off the earth.
௭ஒரு காகத்தை வெளியே விட்டான்; அது புறப்பட்டு பூமியின்மேல் இருந்த தண்ணீர் வற்றிப்போகும்வரைக்கும் போகிறதும் வருகிறதுமாக இருந்தது.
8 And he sent forth a dove from him, —to see whether the waters had abated, from off the face of the ground;
௮பின்பு பூமியின்மேல் தண்ணீர் குறைந்து போயிற்றோ என்று தெரிந்துகொள்ளும்படி, ஒரு புறாவை வெளியே விட்டான்.
9 but the dove found no resting-place for the sole of her foot so she returned unto him into the ark, for, waters, were on the face of all the earth; and he put forth his hand and took her, and brought her in unto him, into the ark.
௯பூமியின்மேலெங்கும் தண்ணீர் இருந்ததினால், அந்தப் புறா தன் உள்ளங்கால் வைத்து இளைப்பாற இடம் கிடைக்காததால், திரும்பிக் கப்பலிலே அவனிடத்திற்கு வந்தது; அவன் தன் கையை நீட்டி அதைப்பிடித்துத் தன்னிடமாகக் கப்பலுக்குள் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான்.
10 Then stayed he yet seven days more, —and, again sent forth the dove out of the ark.
௧0பின்னும் ஏழு நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு, மறுபடியும் புறாவைக் கப்பலிலிருந்து வெளியே விட்டான்.
11 And the dove came in unto him at eventide, and lo! a newly sprouted olive-leaf, in her mouth, —so Noah knew that the waters had abated from off the earth.
௧௧அந்தப் புறா சாயங்காலத்தில் அவனிடத்திற்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தது; இதோ, அது கொத்திக்கொண்டுவந்த ஒரு ஒலிவமரத்தின் இலை அதின் வாயில் இருந்தது; அதனால் நோவா பூமியின்மேல் தண்ணீர் குறைந்துபோயிற்று என்று தெரிந்து கொண்டான்.
12 And he stayed yet seven days more, —and sent forth the dove, but she returned not again unto him any more.
௧௨பின்னும் ஏழு நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு, அவன் புறாவை வெளியே விட்டான்; அது அவனிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி வரவில்லை.
13 So it came to pass in the six hundred and first year at the beginning, on the first of the month, that the waters had dried up from off the earth, —and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked and lo! the face of the ground was dried.
௧௩அவனுக்கு 601 வயதாகும் வருடத்தில், முதல் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே பூமியின்மேல் இருந்த தண்ணீர் வற்றிப்போயிற்று; நோவா கப்பலின் மேல் அடுக்கை எடுத்துப்பார்த்தான்; பூமியின்மேல் தண்ணீர் இல்லாதிருந்தது.
14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, was the earth dry.
௧௪இரண்டாம் மாதம் இருபத்தேழாம் தேதியிலே பூமி காய்ந்திருந்தது.
15 So then, God spake to Noah, saying:
௧௫அப்பொழுது தேவன் நோவாவை நோக்கி:
16 Come forth out of the ark, —thou and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
௧௬“நீயும், உன்னோடுகூட உன்னுடைய மனைவியும், மகன்களும், மகன்களின் மனைவிகளும் கப்பலைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுங்கள்.
17 All the living creatures that are with thee of all flesh among birds, and among beasts, and among all the creeping things that creep on the earth, bring forth with thee, —and they shall swarm in the earth, and be fruitful and multiply, on the earth.
௧௭உன்னிடத்தில் இருக்கிற அனைத்துவித உயிரினங்களாகிய பறவைகளையும், மிருகங்களையும், பூமியின்மேல் ஊருகிற அனைத்து பிராணிகளையும் உன்னோடு வெளியே வரவிடு; அவைகள் பூமியிலே திரளாக ஈன்றெடுத்து, பூமியின்மேல் பலுகிப் பெருகட்டும்” என்றார்.
18 So Noah came forth, —and his sons and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him:
௧௮அப்பொழுது நோவாவும், அவனுடைய மனைவியும், மகன்களும், மகன்களின் மனைவிகளும் வெளியே வந்தார்கள்.
19 All the living creatures, all that move along, and all birds, and all that moveth along over the earth—by their families, came forth out of the ark.
௧௯பூமியின்மேல் நடமாடுகிற அனைத்து மிருகங்களும், ஊருகிற அனைத்து பிராணிகளும், அனைத்து பறவைகளும் வகைவகையாகக் கப்பலிலிருந்து வெளியே வந்தன.
20 And Noah builded an altar to Yahweh, —and took of all the clean beasts and of all the clean birds, and caused ascending Sacrifices to go up on the altar.
௨0அப்பொழுது நோவா யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, சுத்தமான அனைத்து மிருகங்களிலும், சுத்தமான அனைத்து பறவைகளிலும் சிலவற்றைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, அவைகளைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தகனபலிகளாகப் பலியிட்டான்.
21 And Yahweh smelled a satisfying odour, so Yahweh said to himself. I will not, again, curse any more the ground for man’s sake, although the device of the heart of man, be wicked from his youth, —neither will I again, any more smite every living thing, as I have done.
௨௧சுகந்த வாசனையைக் யெகோவா முகர்ந்தார். அப்பொழுது யெகோவா: “இனி நான் மனிதனுக்காக பூமியை சபிப்பதில்லை; மனிதனுடைய இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகள் அவனுடைய சிறுவயது தொடங்கி பொல்லாததாக இருக்கிறது; நான் இப்பொழுது செய்ததுபோல, இனி அனைத்து உயிரினங்களையும் அழிப்பதில்லை.
22 During all the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat and summer and winter, and day and night, shall not cease.
௨௨பூமி இருக்கும்வரைக்கும் விதைப்பும் அறுப்பும், குளிர்ச்சியும் வெப்பமும், கோடைக்காலமும் மழைக்காலமும், பகலும் இரவும் ஒழிவதில்லை” என்று தம்முடைய உள்ளத்தில் சொன்னார்.
