Genesis 7
1 And Yahweh said to Noah, Enter thou and all thy house, into the ark, —for, thee, have I seen righteous before me, in this generation.
Et l'Eternel dit à Noé: Entre, toi et toute ta maison, dans l'arche; car je t'ai vu juste devant moi en ce temps-ci.
2 Of all the clean beasts, shalt thou take to thee by sevens, a male and his female, —and, of the beasts that are not clean, shall be two a male and his female.
Tu prendras de toutes les bêtes nettes sept de chaque espèce, le mâle et sa femelle; mais des bêtes qui ne sont point nettes, un couple, le mâle et la femelle;
3 Also of the bird of the heavens, by sevens, male and female, —to keep alive a seed on the face of all the earth.
[Tu prendras] aussi des oiseaux des cieux sept de chaque espèce, le mâle et sa femelle; afin d'en conserver la race sur toute la terre.
4 For in seven days more, I, am sending rain on the earth, forty days and forty nights, —so will I wipe out all the living things which I have made, from off the face of the ground.
Car dans sept jours je ferai pleuvoir sur la terre pendant quarante jours et quarante nuits; et j'exterminerai de dessus la terre toute chose qui subsiste, laquelle j'ai faite.
5 And Noah did, —according to all that Yahweh commanded him.
Et Noé fit selon tout ce que l'Eternel lui avait commandé.
6 Now, Noah, was six hundred years old, —when, the flood, came, even waters on the earth.
Or Noé était âgé de six cents ans quand le déluge des eaux vint sur la terre.
7 So Noah entered, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him into the ark, —from before the waters of the flood,
Noé donc entra, et avec lui ses fils, sa femme, et les femmes de ses fils, dans l'arche, à cause des eaux du déluge.
8 Of the beasts that were clean, and of the beasts that were not clean, —and of the birds, and everything that creepeth on the ground,
Des bêtes nettes, et des bêtes qui ne sont point nettes, et des oiseaux, et de tout ce qui se meut sur la terre.
9 two and two, went they in unto Noah, into the ark male and female, —as God commanded Noah.
Elles entrèrent deux à deux vers Noé dans l'arche, le mâle et la femelle, comme Dieu avait commandé à Noé.
10 And it came to pass, in the seven days, —that the waters of the flood, came on the earth.
Et il arriva qu'au septième jour les eaux du déluge furent sur la terre.
11 In the six hundredth year, the year of the life of Noah. in the second month on the seventeenth day of the month on this day, were burst open all the fountains of the great roaring deep, and the windows of the heavens, were set open.
En l'an six cent de la vie de Noé au second mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, en ce jour-là toutes les fontaines du grand abîme furent rompues, et les bondes des cieux furent ouvertes.
12 (And it came to pass that the heavy rain was on the earth, —forty days and forty nights.)
Et la pluie tomba sur la terre pendant quarante jours et quarante nuits.
13 On this selfsame day, entered Noah, and Shem and Ham and Japheth. Noah’s sons, —and Noah’s wife, and his sons’ three wives with them into the ark:
En ce même jour Noé, et Sem, Cam, et Japheth, fils de Noé, entrèrent dans l'arche, avec la femme de Noé, et les trois femmes de ses fils avec eux.
14 they, and all the wild-beasts after their kind and all the tame-beasts after their kind, and all the creeping things that creep on the earth after their kind, —and all the birds after their kind, every bird of every wing.
Eux, et toutes les bêtes selon leur espèce, et tout bétail selon son espèce, et tous les reptiles qui se meuvent sur la terre, selon leur espèce, et tous les oiseaux, selon leur espèce; [et] tout petit oiseau ayant des ailes, de quelque sorte que ce soit.
15 So they entered in unto Noah, into the ark, —two and two of all flesh, wherein was the spirit of life.
Il vint donc de toute chair qui a en soi esprit de vie, par couples à Noé, dans l'arche.
16 And, they that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered, as God commanded him, —and Yahweh shut him in round about.
Le mâle, dis-je, et la femelle de toute chair y vinrent, comme Dieu lui avait commandé; puis l'Eternel ferma l'arche sur lui.
17 And it came to pass, that the flood was forty days on the earth, —and the waters increased and bare up the ark, and it was lifted high above the earth,
Et le déluge vint pendant quarante jours sur la terre; et les eaux crurent, et élevèrent l'arche, et elle fut élevée au-dessus de la terre.
18 And the waters prevailed and increased greatly, on the earth, —and the ark went its way on the face of the waters.
Et les eaux se renforcèrent, et s'accrurent fort sur la terre, et l'arche flottait au-dessus des eaux.
19 Yea the waters, prevailed very greatly, on the earth, —so that all the high mountains became covered, that were under all the heavens:
Les eaux donc se renforcèrent extraordinairement sur la terre, et toutes les plus hautes montagnes qui sont sous tous les cieux, en furent couvertes.
20 fifteen cubits upwards, prevailed the waters, so that the mountains became covered.
Les eaux se renforcèrent de quinze coudées par-dessus, et les montagnes en furent couvertes.
21 And all flesh ceased to breathe that moved on the earth, of birds and of tame-beasts and of wild-beasts, and of all the swarming things that swarm on the earth, —and all mankind.
Et toute chair qui se mouvait sur la terre expira, tant des oiseaux que du bétail, des bêtes à quatre pieds, et de tous les reptiles qui se traînent sur la terre, et tous les hommes.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life of all that were on the dry ground died.
Toutes les choses qui étaient sur le sec, ayant respiration de vie en leurs narines, moururent.
23 Thus was wiped out all that existed on the face of the ground, from man unto beast unto creeping thing, and unto the bird of the heavens, thus were they wiped out from the earth, —so that there was left—only Noah and they that were with him in the ark.
Tout ce donc qui subsistait sur la terre fut donc exterminé, depuis les hommes jusques aux bêtes, jusques aux reptiles, et jusques aux oiseaux des cieux; ils furent, dis-je, exterminés de dessus la terre; mais seulement Noé, et ce qui était avec lui dans l'arche, demeura de reste.
24 Thus prevailed the waters on the earth, —a hundred and fifty days.
Et les eaux se maintinrent sur la terre durant cent cinquante jours.
