< Genesis 49 >

1 Then called Jacob unto his sons, —and said—Gather yourselves together, and let me tell you, that which shall befall you in the afterpart of the days.
Ningĩ Jakubu agĩtũmanĩra ariũ ake, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Cookanĩrĩrai haha nĩgeetha ndĩmwĩre ũrĩa gũgekĩka kũrĩ inyuĩ matukũ-inĩ marĩa magooka.
2 Assemble yourselves and hear ye sons of Jacob, —And hearken unto Israel your father!
“Ũnganai na mũthikĩrĩrie, inyuĩ ariũ a Jakubu; thikĩrĩriai Isiraeli ithe wanyu.
3 Reuben, my first-born, thou, My vigour, and the first-fruit of my strength, —Pre-eminence of elevation and pre-eminence of power:
“Rubeni, ũrĩ irigithathi rĩakwa, ũhoti wakwa, kĩonithania kĩa mbere kĩa hinya wakwa; ũkĩrĩte arĩa angĩ na gũtĩĩka, ũkamakĩra na hinya.
4 Boiling over like water, thou mayest not have pre-eminence, Because thou didst mount the bed of thy father, —Then, wast thou profane—My marriage-bed, he mounted!
Wagagĩte ta maaĩ, na nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndũgũcooka gũkĩra arĩa angĩ, tondũ nĩwahaicire ũrĩrĩ wa thoguo, ũgĩthaahia ũrĩrĩ wakwa.
5 Simeon and Levi, are brethren, —Instruments of violence, are their agreements:
“Simeoni na Lawi nĩ a nyina ũmwe, hiũ ciao cia njora nĩ indo cia mbaara cia ũhinya.
6 Into their circle, do not thou enter my soul! In their convocation, do not thou join mine honour! For in their anger, they slew brave men, And in their wantonness, they ham-strung oxen.
Ngoro yakwa ndũkanatoonye ndundu-inĩ yao, ndũkananyiitane na kĩũngano kĩao, nĩgũkorwo nĩmooragĩte andũ marakarĩte, na magatemanga ndegwa magũrũ macithuithie o ũrĩa mangĩendire.
7 Accursed, be their anger, because fierce, And their wrath because cruel, —I divide them in Jacob, And I disperse them in Israel.
8 Judah, as for thee, thy brethren shall praise thee when thy hand is on the neck of thy foes, —The sons of thy father, shall bow them-selves down to thee:
“Juda, ariũ a thoguo nĩmagagũkumia; nakuo guoko gwaku nĩgũgatooria thũ ciaku; ariũ a thoguo nĩmagakũinamĩrĩra.
9 A lion’s whelp, is Judah, From the prey, my son hast thou come up! He hath stooped—hath crouched As a lion—or as a lioness, Who shall rouse him?
Juda, we ũrĩ kĩana kĩa mũrũũthi, mũrũ wakwa; we ũcookaga kuuma ũguĩmi-inĩ ũhũũnĩte ũguĩmi waku. O ta mũrũũthi-rĩ, ethunaga na agakoma thĩ, o ta mũrũũthi wa mũgoma-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩthĩgĩrĩria kũmwarahũra?
10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the commander’s staff from between his feet, —Until that he come in as a Shiloh, And, his, be the obedience of the peoples:
Rũthanju rwa ũthamaki rũtikoima harĩ Juda, o na kana rũthanju rwa ũnene rũthenge gatagatĩ-inĩ ka magũrũ make, o nginya agooka ũrĩa mwene ruo, o we ũrĩa ũgaathĩkagĩrwo nĩ thĩ.
11 Binding, to the vine, his ass, And to the choice vine his ass’s colt, He hath washed in wine his raiment, And in the blood of grapes, his mantle:
Akoohagĩrĩra ndigiri yake mũthabibũ-inĩ, nayo njaũ yake ya ndigiri amĩohagĩrĩre rũhonge-inĩ rũrĩa rwega mũno. Agaathambagia nguo ciake na ndibei, na kanjũ ciake na ũtune wa thabibũ.
12 Darker—his eyes, than wine, —Whiter—his teeth than milk!
Maitho make makaira gũkĩra ndibei, namo magego make merũhe gũkĩra iria.
13 Zebulon, by a haven of seas, shall he settle down, —Even he, by a haven of ships, With his utmost part upon Zidon.
“Zebuluni agaatũũra hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria, na atuĩke handũ hega ha gũikaragwo nĩ marikabu; mĩhaka yake ĩgaakinya o Sidoni.
14 Issachar, an ass of strength, —couching between the pens;
“Isakaru nĩ ndigiri ĩrĩa ĩrĩ hinya ĩkomete gatagatĩ ka mĩrigo ĩĩrĩ.
15 Then beholdeth he rest, that it is good, And the ground that it is pleasant, —So he bendeth his shoulder to bear, And becometh a tributary servant.
Rĩrĩa akoona ũrĩa ũhurũko wake ũrĩ mwega, na ũrĩa bũrũri wake wagĩrĩte-rĩ, no rĩo akainamĩrĩria kĩande gĩake akuue mĩrigo, na etĩkĩre kũruta wĩra ũtarĩ mũcaara.
16 Dan, shall vindicate his people, —as one of the tribes of Israel;
“Dani agaaciirĩrĩra andũ ake na kĩhooto, arĩ ta mũhĩrĩga ũmwe wa Isiraeli.
17 It cometh to pass that, Dan, is a serpent upon the way, A horned viper, upon the path, —That biteth the heels of the horse, And his rider falleth backwards: —
Dani agaatuĩka ta nyoka ĩrĩ mũkĩra-inĩ wa njĩra, atuĩke ta nduĩra ĩrĩ gacĩra-inĩ, ĩrĩa ĩrũmaga ndiira cia mbarathi, na tondũ ũcio mũmĩtwarithia akagũa na ngara.
18 For thy salvation, have I waited O Yahweh!
“Wee Jehova-rĩ, njetereire kũhonokania gwaku.
19 Gad! a troop shall troop on him, —But, he, shall troop on the rear.
“Gadi nĩagatharĩkĩrwo nĩ ikundi cia atunyani, nowe nĩagacitharĩkĩra aciingatithie.
20 Out of Asher, fatness, is his food, —So, he, setteth forth dainties for a king.
“Irio cia Asheri nĩ cia kũguna mwĩrĩ; na akaaheanaga irio njega ingĩkenia mũthamaki.
21 Naphtali, is a slender hind, —That putteth forth antlers of beauty.
“Nafitali nĩ ta thiiya ya mũgoma ĩrekereirio, ĩrĩa ĩciaraga tũthiiya tũthaka.
22 A fruitful bough, is Joseph, A fruitful bough over a fountain, —Branches creeping over a wall.
“Jusufu nĩ mũthabibũ ũrĩa ũciaraga, mũthabibũ ũrĩa ũciaraga ũrĩ hakuhĩ na gĩthima, ũrĩa honge ciaguo itambagĩrĩra rũthingo.
23 So they attack him and have shot, —So they enclose him, do the masters of arrows.
Aikia a mĩguĩ nĩmamũtharĩkĩire marĩ na marũrũ; makĩmũikĩria mĩguĩ marĩ na ũũru mũingĩ.
24 But abideth, as an enduring one, his bow, And supple are the arms of his hands, —From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, From thence, is the Shepherd the Stone of Israel:
No ũta wake ndwenyenyekire, moko make marĩ hinya magĩikara merũmĩtie nĩ ũndũ wa guoko kwa Mwene-Hinya wa Jakubu, na nĩ ũndũ wa Mũrĩithi, o we Ihiga rĩa Isiraeli,
25 From the GOD of thy father who doth help thee And GOD Almighty who doth bless thee, Blessings of the heavens, above, Blessings of the abyss, couching beneath, —Blessings of breasts and womb:
nĩ ũndũ wa Ngai wa thoguo, ũrĩa ũgũteithagia, na tondũ wa Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, ũrĩa ũkũrathimaga na irathimo cia igũrũ, na irathimo cia kũrĩa kũriku mũhuro wa thĩ, o na irathimo cia nyondo na cia nda.
26 The blessings of thy father, have prevailed, Over the blessings of the perpetual mountains, The charm of the age-abiding hills, —They turn out to be, for the head of Joseph, And for the crown of the head of him who was set apart from his brethren.
Irathimo cia thoguo nĩ makĩria ma irathimo cia irĩma iria cia tene, na nĩ makĩria ma ũtonga wa tũrĩma tũrĩa tũkũrũ. Ici ciothe nĩirekwo ihurũke mũtwe-inĩ wa Jusufu, o thiithi-inĩ wa ũcio ũhaana ta mwana wa mũthamaki harĩ ariũ a ithe.
27 Benjamin a wolf that teareth in pieces, In the morning, he eateth prey, And at eventide, he divideth spoil.
“Benjamini ahaana ta njũũi ĩrĩa ngoroku; kĩroko-inĩ atambuuraga kĩrĩa aguĩmĩte, hwaĩ-inĩ akagayania kĩrĩa atahĩte.”
28 All these, are the twelve tribes of Israel, —And this, is that which their father spake to them when he blessed them, Each man severally according to the blessing wherewith he blessed them.
Ĩyo yothe nĩyo mĩhĩrĩga ĩrĩa ikũmi na ĩĩrĩ ya Isiraeli, na ũguo nĩguo ithe wao aameerire rĩrĩa aamarathimaga, akĩhe o mũndũ kĩrathimo kĩrĩa kĩamwagĩrĩire.
29 Then commanded he them and said unto them—I, am about to be gathered unto my people, Bury me among my fathers, —within the cave, that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite:
Ningĩ Jakubu akĩmahe mawatho maya: “Ndĩ hakuhĩ gũkua. Mũgaathika harĩa maithe makwa mathikĩtwo, ngurunga-inĩ ĩrĩa ĩrĩ gĩthaka-inĩ kĩa Efironi ũrĩa Mũhiti,
30 in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah which is over against Mamre, in the land of Canaan, —which Abraham bought, along with the field, from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace: —
ngurunga ĩrĩa ĩrĩ gĩthaka-inĩ kĩa Makipela hakuhĩ na Mamure kũu Kaanani, ĩrĩa Iburahĩmu aagũranĩirie na gĩthaka kĩu, ĩrĩ handũ ha gũthikana, kuuma kũrĩ Efironi ũrĩa Mũhiti.
31 There, buried they Abraham, and Sarah his wife, There, buried they Isaac, and Rebekah his wife, —And there, buried I Leah: —
Hau nĩho Iburahĩmu na mũtumia wake Sara maathikirwo, na no ho Isaaka na Rebeka mũtumia wake maathikirwo, na no ho ndaathikire Lea.
32 buying the field and the cave that is therein, from the sons of Heth.
Gĩthaka kĩu na ngurunga ĩyo ciagũrirwo kuuma kũrĩ Ahethi.”
33 So Jacob made an end of commanding his sons, and gathered up his feet into the couch, —and ceased to breathe and was gathered unto his people.
Nake Jakubu aarĩkia kũhe ariũ ake ũhoro ũcio-rĩ, agĩthuna magũrũ make arĩ o gĩtanda-inĩ, agĩtuĩkana, agĩcookanĩrĩrio kũrĩ andũ ao arĩa maakuĩte.
