Genesis 46
1 So Israel brake up, with all that he had, and came in to Beer-sheba, —and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
Da brach Israel auf mit seinem ganzen Hausstand und gelangte nach Beerseba; da brachte er dem Gotte seines Vaters Isaak Opfer dar.
2 And God said to Israel in the visions of the night, and he said—Jacob! Jacob! And he said—Behold me!
Da rief Gott in einem nächtlichen Gesicht Israel und sprach: Jakob, Jakob! Er antwortete: Ich höre!
3 And he said: I, am GOD himself, the God of thy father, —Be not afraid of going down to Egypt, seeing that for a great nation, will I plant thee there.
Da sprach er: Ich bin El, der Gott deines Vaters. Ziehe unbedenklich nach Ägypten, denn dort will ich dich zu einem großen Volke werden lassen.
4 I will go down with thee to Egypt, and I will bring thee up, yea wholly up, —and, Joseph, shall lay his own hand upon thine eyes.
Ich selbst werde mit dir nach Ägypten ziehn und ich selbst werde dich auch wieder zurückbringen; aber Joseph soll dir die Augen zudrücken.
5 So Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba, —and the sons of Israel brought Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the waggons which Pharaoh had sent to bring him;
Da brach Jakob auf von Beerseba, und die Söhne Israels hoben ihren Vater Jakob, ihre kleinen Kinder und ihre Frauen auf die Wagen, die der Pharao gesandt hatte, um ihn hinzubringen.
6 and they took their cattle and the gains which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, —Jacob and all his seed with him:
Und sie nahmen ihre Herden und ihre Fahrhabe, die sie in Kanaan erworben hatten, und gelangten nach Ägypten, Jakob mit seiner gesamten Nachkommenschaft;
7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed, brought he with him into Egypt.
seine Söhne und Enkel, seine Töchter und Enkelinnen und seine gesamte Nachkommenschaft brachte er mit sich nach Ägypten.
8 Now, these, are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt—Jacob and his sons, —the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben:
Dies aber sind die Namen der Nachkommen Israels, die nach Ägypten kamen. Jakob und seine Nachkommen: der erstgeborene Sohn Jakobs Ruben.
9 And, the sons of Reuben, —Hanoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi;
Die Söhne Rubens waren: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron und Karmi.
10 And, the sons of Simeon, —Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, —and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess;
Die Söhne Simeons: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Saul, der Sohn der Kanaaniterin.
11 And the sons of Levi, —Gershon, Kohath and Merari;
Die Söhne Levis: Gerson, Kahath und Merari.
12 And the sons of Judah, —Er and Onan and Shelah, and Perez and Zerah, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul;
Die Söhne Judas: Ger, Onan, Sela, Perez und Serah; Ger und Onan jedoch starben in Kanaan. Die Söhne des Perez aber waren Hezron und Hamul.
13 And, the sons of Issachar, —Tola and Puvah, and Iob and Shimron;
Die Söhne Issachars: Tola, Puvva, Job und Simron.
14 And the sons of Zebulon, —Sered and Elon, and Jahleel.
Die Söhne Sebulons: Sered, Elon und Jahleel.
15 These, are the sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah also his daughter, —All the souls of his sons and of his daughters, were thirty-three.
Dies sind die Söhne Leas, die sie Jakob in Mesopotamien gebar, samt seiner Tochter Dina, zusammen 33 Söhne und Töchter.
16 And, the sons of Gad, —Zaphon and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, —Eri and Arodi and Areli;
Die Söhne Gads aber waren: Zaphon, Haggi, Suni und Ezbon, Eri, Arodi und Areli.
17 And, the sons of Asher, —Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah, and Serah their sister, —and the sons of Beriah, Heber and Malchiel.
Die Söhne Assers: Jimna, Jisva, Jisvi, Bria, dazu ihre Schwester Serah, und die Söhne Brias waren Heber und Malkiel.
18 These, are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —sixteen souls.
Dies sind die Söhne Silpas, die Laban seiner Tochter Lea mitgab; diese gebar sie Jakob, sechzehn Seelen.
19 The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, —Joseph and Benjamin;
Die Söhne Rahels, des Weibes Jakobs, waren Joseph und Benjamin.
20 And there were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, bare to him: Manasseh and Ephraim;
Dem Joseph aber wurden in Ägypten Söhne geboren; die gebar ihm Asnath, die Tochter Potipheras, des Oberpriesters von On: Manasse und Ephraim.
21 And the sons of Benjamin—Bela and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, —Muppim and Huppim, and Ard.
Die Söhne Benjamins aber waren Bela und Becher und Asbel, Gera und Naaman, Ehi und Ros, Muppim und Huppim und Ard.
22 These, are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob, —all the souls, were fourteen.
Dies sind die Söhne Rahels, die sie Jakob gebar, zusammen vierzehn Seelen.
23 And, the sons of Dan, —Hushim;
Die Söhne Dans aber waren Husim,
24 And the sons of Naphtali, —Jahzeel and Guni, and Jezer and Shillem.
und die Söhne Naphthalis: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer und Sillem.
25 These, are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —all the souls, were seven.
Dies sind die Söhne Bilhas, welche Laban seiner Tochter Rahel mitgab; diese gebar sie Jakob, zusammen sieben Seelen.
26 All the souls that came in with Jacob to Egypt that had come forth of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, —all the souls, were sixty-six;
Die Gesamtzahl der leiblichen Nachkommen Jakobs, die nach Ägypten übersiedelten, ungerechnet die Frauen der Söhne Jakobs, betrug 66 Seelen.
27 and, the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: All the souls of the house of Jacob that came into Egypt, were seventy.
Die Söhne Josephs aber, die ihm in Ägypten geboren wurden, waren zwei an der Zahl. Die Gesamtzahl der Angehörigen Jakobs, die nach Ägypten gelangten, betrug siebzig.
28 And he sent, Judah, before him unto Joseph, to direct his face to Goshen, —so they came in towards the land of Goshen.
Juda aber sandte er voraus zu Joseph, damit er vor ihm nach Gosen Weisung gebe. Als sie nun nach der Provinz Gosen gelangt waren,
29 Then yoked Joseph his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father towards Goshen, —and he appeared unto him, and fell upon his neck, and wept upon his neck a good while.
ließ Joseph seinen Wagen anspannen und fuhr hin nach Gosen seinem Vater Israel entgegen. Und als er mit ihm zusammentraf, fiel er ihm um den Hals und weinte lange an seinem Halse.
30 Then said Israel unto Joseph I am ready to die at last, —now that I have seen thy face, in that thou art, yet alive.
Israel aber sprach zu Joseph: Nun will ich gern sterben, nachdem ich dich wiedergesehen habe, daß du noch am Leben bist.
31 Then said Joseph unto his brethren and unto the house of his father, I must go up, and must tell Pharaoh—and must say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father, who were in the land of Canaan, have come in unto me.
Da sprach Joseph zu seinen Brüdern und zu den Angehörigen seines Vaters: Ich will hin, dem Pharao Bericht zu erstatten, und will ihm sagen: Meine Brüder und die Angehörigen meines Vaters, die in Kanaan waren, sind zu mir gekommen.
32 Now, the men, are feeders of flocks, for men of cattle, they are, —and their flocks and their herds and all that they have, have they brought in.
Und zwar sind diese Leute Schafhirten - denn sie waren Viehzüchter - und haben ihre Schafe und Rinder und ihre ganze Habe mit hergebracht.
33 So shall it come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call for you, —and shall say—What is your occupation?
Wenn euch nun der Pharao rufen läßt und fragt: Welches ist euer Beruf?
34 Then shall ye say—Men of cattle, have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, —To the end ye may dwell in the land of Goshen, for an abomination to Egyptians, is every feeder of a flock,
so antwortet: Deine Sklaven sind Viehzüchter gewesen von Jugend auf bis heute, sowohl wir, wie unsere Vorfahren - damit ihr in der Provinz Gosen bleiben dürft. Die Schafhirten sind nämlich den Ägyptern ein Gegenstand des Abscheus.
