Genesis 46
1 So Israel brake up, with all that he had, and came in to Beer-sheba, —and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
Tako Izrael krene na put sa svim što bijaše njegovo i stigne u Beer Šebu te prinese žrtvu Bogu svoga oca Izaka.
2 And God said to Israel in the visions of the night, and he said—Jacob! Jacob! And he said—Behold me!
U noćnom viđenju zovne Bog Izraela: “Jakove! Jakove!” On odgovori: “Evo me!”
3 And he said: I, am GOD himself, the God of thy father, —Be not afraid of going down to Egypt, seeing that for a great nation, will I plant thee there.
“Ja sam Bog, Bog tvoga oca. Ne boj se sići u Egipat, jer ću ondje od tebe proizvesti velik narod.
4 I will go down with thee to Egypt, and I will bring thee up, yea wholly up, —and, Joseph, shall lay his own hand upon thine eyes.
Ja ću sići u Egipat s tobom i sam ću te vratiti ovamo; a Josip će ti svojom rukom oči zaklopiti.”
5 So Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba, —and the sons of Israel brought Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the waggons which Pharaoh had sent to bring him;
I Jakov krene iz Beer Šebe. Sinovi Izraelovi postave svoga oca Jakova, svoju djecu i svoje žene u kola što ih je faraon poslao da ga prevezu.
6 and they took their cattle and the gains which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, —Jacob and all his seed with him:
Uzmu sa sobom svoje blago i dobra što ih bijahu stekli u zemlji kanaanskoj te stignu Jakov i sve njegovo potomstvo u Egipat.
7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed, brought he with him into Egypt.
Sa sobom je u Egipat poveo svoje sinove i unuke, svoje kćeri i kćeri svojih sinova, sve svoje potomstvo.
8 Now, these, are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt—Jacob and his sons, —the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben:
Ovo su imena Izraelaca - Jakova i njegovih potomaka - koji su stigli u Egipat: Jakovljev prvorođenac Ruben.
9 And, the sons of Reuben, —Hanoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi;

10 And, the sons of Simeon, —Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, —and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess;
Sinovi Šimunovi: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Sohar i Šaul, sin Kanaanke.
11 And the sons of Levi, —Gershon, Kohath and Merari;
Sinovi Levijevi: Geršon, Kehat i Merari.
12 And the sons of Judah, —Er and Onan and Shelah, and Perez and Zerah, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul;
Sinovi Judini: Er, Onan, Šela, Peres i Zerah. Er i Onan umrli su u zemlji kanaanskoj. Peresovi sinovi bili su Hesron i Hamul.
13 And, the sons of Issachar, —Tola and Puvah, and Iob and Shimron;
Sinovi Jisakarovi: Tola, Fuva, Jašub i Šimron.
14 And the sons of Zebulon, —Sered and Elon, and Jahleel.
Sinovi Zebulunovi: Sered, Elon i Jahleel.
15 These, are the sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah also his daughter, —All the souls of his sons and of his daughters, were thirty-three.
To su sinovi koje je Lea imala s Jakovom u Padan Aramu i još kćerka Dina. U svemu je, dakle, imao sinova i kćeri trideset i troje.
16 And, the sons of Gad, —Zaphon and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, —Eri and Arodi and Areli;
Sinovi Gadovi: Sifjon, Hagi, Šuni, Esbon, Eri, Arodi i Areli.
17 And, the sons of Asher, —Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah, and Serah their sister, —and the sons of Beriah, Heber and Malchiel.
Sinovi Ašerovi: Jimna, Jišva, Jišvi, Berija i sestra im Serah. Sinovi Berijini: Heber i Malkiel.
18 These, are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —sixteen souls.
To su bili potomci Zilpe, koju je Laban darovao svojoj kćeri Lei. Ona je tako rodila Jakovu šesnaest duša.
19 The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, —Joseph and Benjamin;
Sinovi Jakovljeve žene Rahele: Josip i Benjamin.
20 And there were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, bare to him: Manasseh and Ephraim;
Josipu su se u egipatskoj zemlji rodili Manaše i Efrajim. Rodila mu ih je kći onskog svećenika Poti-Fere.
21 And the sons of Benjamin—Bela and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, —Muppim and Huppim, and Ard.
Sinovi Benjaminovi: Bela, Beker, Ašbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Roš, Mupim, Hupim i Ard.
22 These, are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob, —all the souls, were fourteen.
To su bili potomci Rahelini koje je rodila Jakovu - u svemu njih četrnaest.
23 And, the sons of Dan, —Hushim;
Danov je sin Hušim.
24 And the sons of Naphtali, —Jahzeel and Guni, and Jezer and Shillem.
Sinovi Naftalijevi: Jahseel, Guni, Jeser i Šilem.
25 These, are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —all the souls, were seven.
To su bili potomci Bilhe, koju je Laban dao svojoj kćeri Raheli. Ona je Jakovu rodila sedam potomaka.
26 All the souls that came in with Jacob to Egypt that had come forth of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, —all the souls, were sixty-six;
Tako je sve Jakovljeve čeljadi što je od njega poteklo i u Egipat doselilo - ne uključujući žena Jakovljevih sinova - u svemu šezdeset i šest osoba.
27 and, the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: All the souls of the house of Jacob that came into Egypt, were seventy.
I k tome dva sina Josipova što su mu se rodila u Egiptu. Prema tome, sve čeljadi Jakovljeva doma što se naseli u Egiptu bijaše sedamdeset duša.
28 And he sent, Judah, before him unto Joseph, to direct his face to Goshen, —so they came in towards the land of Goshen.
Izrael posla Judu naprijed k Josipu da se pred njim pojavi u Gošenu. Kad stignu u gošenski kraj,
29 Then yoked Joseph his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father towards Goshen, —and he appeared unto him, and fell upon his neck, and wept upon his neck a good while.
Josip upregne svoja kola i zaputi se u Gošen - u susret svome ocu Izraelu. Stupivši preda nj, pade mu oko vrata i dugo je tako plakao.
30 Then said Israel unto Joseph I am ready to die at last, —now that I have seen thy face, in that thou art, yet alive.
Onda Izrael reče Josipu: “Sada, pošto sam rođenim očima vidio da si još živ, mogu umrijeti.”
31 Then said Joseph unto his brethren and unto the house of his father, I must go up, and must tell Pharaoh—and must say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father, who were in the land of Canaan, have come in unto me.
Zatim Josip reče svojoj braći i očevoj obitelji: “Otići ću i obavijestiti faraona; reći ću mu: 'Moja braća i obitelj moga oca, koji su bili u zemlji kanaanskoj, došli su k meni.
32 Now, the men, are feeders of flocks, for men of cattle, they are, —and their flocks and their herds and all that they have, have they brought in.
Oni su ljudi pastiri, uvijek su se bavili stočarstvom; dotjerali su sa sobom svoja stada i sve što im pripada.'
33 So shall it come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call for you, —and shall say—What is your occupation?
Tako, kad vas faraon pozove i zapita: 'Čime se bavite?'
34 Then shall ye say—Men of cattle, have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, —To the end ye may dwell in the land of Goshen, for an abomination to Egyptians, is every feeder of a flock,
odgovorite: 'Ljudi smo, sluge tvoje, koji se od početka do sad bavimo stočarstvom; i mi i naši preci', tako da se možete naseliti u gošenskom kraju. Svi su, naime, pastiri Egipćanima mrski.”
