Genesis 45
1 And Joseph could not restrain himself before all who were stationed near him, so he cried out—Have forth every man from me! And there stood no man with him, when Joseph made himself known unto his brethren,
Und Joseph vermochte nicht an sich zu halten vor allen, die bei ihm standen und rief: Lasset jeden Mann hinausgehen von mir! Und es stand kein Mann bei ihm, als Joseph sich seinen Brüdern zu erkennen gab.
2 Then gave he forth his voice in weeping, —and the Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
Und seine Stimme brach in Weinen aus, und es hörten es die Ägypter und das Haus Pharaos hörte es.
3 Then said Joseph unto his brethren: I, am Joseph, is my father yet alive? But his brethren could not answer him, for they were terrified because of him.
Und Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Ich bin Joseph. Lebt mein Vater noch? Aber seine Brüder vermochten nicht ihm zu antworten; denn sie waren bestürzt vor seinem Angesicht.
4 Then said Joseph unto his brethren—Draw near I pray you, unto me. And they drew near. And he said—I, am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
Und Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Tretet doch her zu mir; und sie traten herzu. Und er sprach: Ich bin Joseph, euer Bruder, ich, den ihr nach Ägypten verkauft habt.
5 But, now, do not grieve, neither let it be vexing in your eyes, that ye sold me hither, —for, to save life, did God send me before you.
Nun aber laßt es euch nicht schmerzen, und laßt es nicht entbrennen in euren Augen, daß ihr mich hierher verkauft habt; denn um am Leben zu erhalten, hat mich Gott vor euch hergesandt.
6 For these two years, hath the famine been in the midst of the land, —and, yet five years, are there, in which there shall be neither ploughing, nor harvest.
Denn diese zwei Jahre war Hungersnot inmitten des Landes; und noch sind es fünf Jahre, in denen kein Pflügen und Ernten sein wird.
7 So then God sent me before you, to plant for you a remainder in the earth, —and to save you alive, by a great deliverance,
Und Gott hat mich vor euch hergesandt, um euch seinen Überrest zu setzen auf Erden, und euch das Leben zu erhalten, zu einer großen Errettung.
8 Now, therefore it was not ye, who sent me hither, but, God, himself, —who also appointed me to be a father to Pharaoh, and a lord to all his house, and a ruler over all the land of Egypt.
Und nun seid nicht ihr es, die mich hierher gesandt, sondern Gott. Und Er hat mich dem Pharao zum Vater, und seinem ganzen Hause zum Herrn, und zum Herrscher im ganzen Land Ägypten gesetzt.
9 Haste ye and go up unto my father, then shall ye say unto him—Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath appointed me lord to all Egypt, —come down unto me do not delay;
Eilet und gehet hinauf zu meinem Vater und saget ihm: Also spricht dein Sohn Joseph: Gott hat mich zum Herrn über ganz Ägypten gesetzt; komm herab zu mir, bleib nicht stehen!
10 so shalt thou dwell in the land of Goshen, and shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy sons, and thy sons’ sons, —and thy flocks and thy herds and all that is thine;
Und du sollst im Lande Gosen wohnen und mir nahe sein, du und deine Söhne und die Söhne deiner Söhne, und dein Kleinvieh und deine Rinder, und alles, was dein ist.
11 so will I sustain thee, there, for there are yet five years of famine, —lest thou come to poverty—thou and thy house and all who are thine.
Und ich will dich da versorgen; denn noch sind fünf Hungerjahre, auf daß du nicht verkommest, du und dein Haus und alles, was dein ist.
12 Now lo! your own eyes do see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, —that it is my own mouth, that doth speak unto you.
Und siehe, eure Augen sehen es, und die Augen meines Bruders Benjamin, daß es mein Mund ist, der zu euch redet.
13 As soon as ye have told my father all my honour in Egypt, and all that ye have seen, so soon shall ye hasten and bring down my father hither.
Und saget an meinem Vater alle meine Herrlichkeit in Ägypten und alles, was ihr gesehen habt, und eilet und bringt meinen Vater hier herab.
14 Then fell he upon the neck of Benjamin his brother, and wept, —and Benjamin wept on his neck.
Und er fiel seinem Bruder Benjamin um den Hals und weinte, und Benjamin weinte an seinem Hals.
15 Then kissed he all his brethren, and wept upon them, —and, thereafter, his brethren spake with him.
Und er küßte alle seine Brüder und weinte über ihnen, und nachher redeten seine Brüder mit ihm.
16 Now, the report, was heard by the house of Pharaoh, saying, The brethren of Joseph have come in, And it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
Und ihre Stimme ward gehört im Hause Pharaos, und man sagte: Josephs Brüder sind gekommen. Und es war gut in den Augen Pharaos und in den Augen seiner Knechte.
17 So then Pharaoh said unto Joseph—Say unto thy brethren This, do, —lade your asses, and go enter into the land of Canaan;
Und Pharao sprach zu Joseph: Sag deinen Brüdern: Das tut, ladet euren Lasttieren auf und gehet, kommt nach dem Lande Kanaan.
18 and fetch your father and your households and come in unto me, —that I may give you the best of the land of Egypt, and eat ye the fat of the land.
Und nehmet euren Vater und eure Häuser, und kommet zu mir, und ich will euch das Gute des Landes Ägypten geben, und ihr sollt essen das Fett des Landes.
19 Thou, therefore command them, This, do ye, —Take you out of the land of Egypt, waggons for your little ones and for your wives, so shall ye bring your father and come in.
Und du sollst ihnen gebieten: Dies tut, nehmet euch vom Lande Ägypten Wagen für eure Kindlein und für eure Weiber, und bringet euren Vater und kommet.
20 Your eye, moreover, let it not look with pity upon your goods, —for, the best of all the land of Egypt, is, yours.
Und lasset eure Augen euer Geräte nicht schonen; denn das Gut vom ganzen Lande Ägypten ist euer.
21 And the sons of Israel did so, and Joseph gave them waggons, at the bidding of Pharaoh, —and gave them provisions for the way:
Und die Söhne Israels taten so, und Joseph gab ihnen Wagen nach Pharaos Ausspruch, und gab ihnen Zehrung auf den Weg.
22 to all of them, gave he to each man changes of raiment, —but, to Benjamin, he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.
Ihnen allen gab er, einem jeden Mann, Gewänder zum Wechseln; dem Benjamin aber gab er dreihundert Silberlinge und fünf Gewänder zum Wechseln.
23 Moreover, to his father, sent he as followeth—ten he-asses, laden from the best of Egypt, —and ten she-asses laden with corn and bread and nourishing food for his father for the way.
Seinem Vater aber schickte er wie folgt: Zehn Esel, tragend vom Guten Ägyptens, und zehn Eselinnen, tragend Getreide und Brot und Lebensmittel für seinen Vater auf den Weg.
24 Thus sent he forth his brethren and they departed, —and he said unto them, Do not fall out by the way.
Und er entsandte seine Brüder und sie gingen, und er sprach zu ihnen: Zanket nicht auf dem Wege.
25 And they went up out of Egypt, —and came into the land of Canaan, unto Jacob their father.
Sie aber gingen hinauf von Ägypten und kamen ins Land Kanaan zu Jakob, ihrem Vater;
26 And they told him saying—Joseph: is, yet alive, yea, indeed, he, is ruler in all the land of Egypt. And his heart became faint, for he believed them not.
Und sie sagten es ihm an und sprachen: Joseph lebt noch und er herrscht im ganzen Land Ägypten; aber sein Herz erstarrte, denn er glaubte ihnen nicht.
27 So they spake unto him all the words of Joseph which he had spoken unto them h then saw he the waggons, which Joseph had sent to carry him, —and the spirit of Jacob their father revived.
Und sie redeten zu ihm alle Worte Josephs, die er zu ihnen geredet hatte. Und er sah die Wagen, die Joseph sandte, um ihn hinzufahren, und der Geist ihres Vaters Jakob lebte auf.
28 And Israel said, Enough! Joseph my son is, yet alive, I must go and see him before I die!
Und Israel sprach: Das ist viel! Mein Sohn Joseph lebt noch. Ich will gehen und ihn sehen, bevor ich sterbe.
