Genesis 36
1 Now these, are the generations of Esau the same, is Edom.
hae sunt autem generationes Esau ipse est Edom
2 Esau, took his wives of the daughters of Canaan, —Even Adah, daughter of Elon, the Hittite, And Oholibamah daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon, the Hivite;
Esau accepit uxores de filiabus Chanaan Ada filiam Elom Hetthei et Oolibama filiam Anae filiae Sebeon Evei
3 And Basemath daughter of Ishmael sister of Nebaioth.
Basemath quoque filiam Ismahel sororem Nabaioth
4 So Adah bare to Esau, Eliphaz, and, Basemath, bare Reuel;
peperit autem Ada Eliphaz Basemath genuit Rauhel
5 and Oholibamah, bare Jeush and Jalam and Korah. These, are the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

6 Then took Esau his wives, and his sons, and his daughters and all the souls of his house, and his herds and all his beasts, and all his possessions whatsoever he had gathered in the land of Canaan, —and went into a land, away from the face of Jacob his brother,
tulit autem Esau uxores suas et filios et filias et omnem animam domus suae et substantiam et pecora et cuncta quae habere poterat in terra Chanaan et abiit in alteram regionem recessitque a fratre suo Iacob
7 For their substance had become too great for them to dwell together, —neither could the land of their sojournings sustain them, because of their herds,
divites enim erant valde et simul habitare non poterant nec sustinebat eos terra peregrinationis eorum prae multitudine gregum
8 So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir, Esau, is Edom.
habitavitque Esau in monte Seir ipse est Edom
9 And, these, are the generations of Esau father of Edom, —in Mount Seir.
hae sunt generationes Esau patris Edom in monte Seir
10 These, are the name of the sons of Esau, —Eliphaz son of Adah wife of Esau, Reuel son of Basemath wife of Esau.
et haec nomina filiorum eius Eliphaz filius Ada uxoris Esau Rauhel quoque filius Basemath uxoris eius
11 Then came the sons of Eliphaz to be, —Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
fueruntque filii Eliphaz Theman Omar Sephu et Gatham et Cenez
12 Now, Timna, became the concubine of Eliphaz son of Esau, and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek. These, are the sons of Adah, wife of Esau.
erat autem Thamna concubina Eliphaz filii Esau quae peperit ei Amalech hii sunt filii Adae uxoris Esau
13 And, these, are the sons of Reuel, Nahath and Zerah Shammah and Mizzah, —These were the sons of Basemath wife of Esau.
filii autem Rauhel Naath et Zara Semma et Meza hii filii Basemath uxoris Esau
14 And, these, were the sons of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon, wife of—Esau, —she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

15 These, are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: —The sons of Eliphaz, firstborn of Esau, —Chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,
hii duces filiorum Esau filii Eliphaz primogeniti Esau dux Theman dux Omar dux Sephu dux Cenez
16 chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom, these, the sons of Adah.
dux Core dux Gatham dux Amalech hii filii Eliphaz in terra Edom et hii filii Adae
17 And these, are the sons of Reuel, son of Esau—Chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah, —These are the chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom, these, the sons of Basemath wife of Esau.
hii quoque filii Rauhel filii Esau dux Naath dux Zara dux Semma dux Meza hii duces Rauhel in terra Edom isti filii Basemath uxoris Esau
18 And these, are the sons of Oholibamah wife of Esau, Chief Jeush chief Jalam, chief Korah, —These are the chiefs of Oholibamah daughter of Anah wife of Esau.
hii autem filii Oolibama uxoris Esau dux Hieus dux Hielom dux Core hii duces Oolibama filiae Ana uxoris Esau
19 These, are the sons of Esau, and, these, their chiefs—the same, is Edom.
isti filii Esau et hii duces eorum ipse est Edom
20 These, are the sons of Seir, the Horite, who were dwelling in the land, —Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah;
isti filii Seir Horrei habitatores terrae Lotham et Sobal et Sebeon et Anan
21 and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan, —These, are the chiefs of the Horites the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
Dison et Eser et Disan hii duces Horrei filii Seir in terra Edom
22 Then came the sons of Lotan to be, Hori and Hemam, —And, the sister of Lotan was Timna.
facti sunt autem filii Lotham Horrei et Heman erat autem soror Lotham Thamna
23 And, these, are the sons of Shobal, Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, —Shepho, and Onam.
et isti filii Sobal Alvam et Maneeth et Hebal Sephi et Onam
24 And, these, are the sons of Zibeon: Both Aiah and Anah, —The same, is the Anah that found the warm springs in the desert, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
et hii filii Sebeon Ahaia et Anam iste est Ana qui invenit aquas calidas in solitudine cum pasceret asinos Sebeon patris sui
25 And these are the sons of Anah Dishon, —and Oholibamah, is daughter of Anah.
habuitque filium Disan et filiam Oolibama
26 And, these, are the sons of Dishon, —Hemdan and Eshban, and Ithran and Cheran.
et isti filii Disan Amdan et Esban et Iethran et Charan
27 These, are the sons of Ezer, —Bilhan and Zaavan, and Akan.
hii quoque filii Eser Balaan et Zevan et Acham
28 These, are the sons of Dishan, —Uz and Aran.
habuit autem filios Disan Hus et Aran
29 These, are the chiefs of the Horites, —Chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah;
isti duces Horreorum dux Lothan dux Sobal dux Sebeon dux Ana
30 chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan. These, are the chiefs of the Horites, after their chiefs in the land of Seir.
dux Dison dux Eser dux Disan isti duces Horreorum qui imperaverunt in terra Seir
31 And, these, are the kings, who reigned in the land of Edom, —before there reigned a king of the sons of Israel:
reges autem qui regnaverunt in terra Edom antequam haberent regem filii Israhel fuerunt hii
32 There reigned in Edom, Bela, son of Beor, —and the name of his city, was Dinhabah.

33 Then died Bela, —and there reigned in his stead, Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah.
mortuus est autem Bale et regnavit pro eo Iobab filius Zare de Bosra
34 Then died Jobab, —and there reigned in his stead, Husham, from the land of the Temanites.
cumque mortuus esset Iobab regnavit pro eo Husan de terra Themanorum
35 Then died Husham, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad, son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, and, the name of his city, was Avith.
hoc quoque mortuo regnavit pro eo Adad filius Badadi qui percussit Madian in regione Moab et nomen urbis eius Ahuith
36 Then died Hadad, —and there reigned in his stead, Samlah from Masrekah.
cumque mortuus esset Adad regnavit pro eo Semla de Maserecha
37 Then died Samlah, —and there reigned in his stead, Shaul, from Rohoboth of the River.
hoc quoque mortuo regnavit pro eo Saul de fluvio Rooboth
38 Then died Shaul, —and there reigned in his stead, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor.
cumque et hic obisset successit in regnum Baalanam filius Achobor
39 Then died Baal-hanan son of Achbor, and there reigned in his stead Hadar, and the name of his city, was Pau, —and, the name of his wife, Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.
isto quoque mortuo regnavit pro eo Adad nomenque urbis eius Phau et appellabatur uxor illius Meezabel filia Matred filiae Mizaab
40 These then are the names of the chiefs of Esau after their families, after their places by their names, —Chief Timnah, chief Alvah chief Jetheth;
haec ergo nomina Esau in cognationibus et locis et vocabulis suis dux Thamna dux Alva dux Ietheth
41 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon;
dux Oolibama dux Ela dux Phinon
42 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar;
dux Cenez dux Theman dux Mabsar
43 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These, are the chiefs of Edom—after their dwellings in the land of their possession, the same, is Esau, father of Edom.
