Genesis 30
1 And Rachel saw she had borne no children unto Jacob, so Rachel became envious of her sister, —and said unto Jacob, Come! give me children, or else, I die.
१याकोबापासून आपल्याला मुल होत नाहीत हे पाहिल्यावर राहेल आपली बहीण लेआ हिचा मत्सर करू लागली; तेव्हा राहेल याकोबाला म्हणाली, “मला मुल द्या, नाही तर मी मरेन.”
2 Then kindled the anger of Jacob with Rachel, —and he said, Am I, in the place of God, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
२याकोबाचा राहेलवर राग भडकला. तो म्हणाला, “ज्याने तुला मुल होण्यापासून रोखून धरले आहे, त्या देवाच्या ठिकाणी मी आहे की काय?”
3 And she said, Lo! my handmaid, Bilhah. Go in unto her, —that she may bear upon my knees, so that, I also, may be builded up by her!
३ती म्हणाली, “पाहा, माझी दासी बिल्हा आहे. तुम्ही तिच्या जवळ जा म्हणजे मग ती माझ्या मांडीवर मुलाला जन्म देईल व तिजपासून मलाही मुले मिळतील.”
4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid, to wife, —and Jacob went in unto her;
४अशा रीतीने तिने त्यास आपली दासी बिल्हा पत्नी म्हणून दिली. आणि याकोबाने तिच्याबरोबर संबंध ठेवला.
5 and Bilhah conceived, and bare unto Jacob a son;
५तेव्हा बिल्हा गरोदर राहिली व याकोबाच्या मुलाला जन्म दिला.
6 and Rachel said God hath vindicated me. Moreover also he hath hearkened unto my voice, and hath given me a son. For this cause, called she his name Dan.
६मग राहेल म्हणाली, “देवाने माझे ऐकले आहे. त्याने माझा आवाज नक्कीच ऐकला आहे आणि मला मुलगा दिला आहे.” म्हणून तिने त्याचे नाव दान ठेवले.
7 And Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid conceived again, and bare a second son to Jacob.
७राहेलची दासी बिल्हा पुन्हा गर्भवती झाली व तिने याकोबाच्या दुसऱ्या मुलाला जन्म दिला.
8 Then said Rachel With wrestlings of God, have I wrestled with my sister Yea I have prevailed. So she called his name, Naphtali.
८राहेल म्हणाली, “मी माझ्या बहिणीशी प्रबळ स्पर्धा करून लढा दिला व विजय मिळवला आहे.” तिने त्याचे नाव नफताली ठेवले.
9 Then saw Leah, that she had left off bearing, —so she took Zilpah, her handmaid, and gave her to Jacob to wife.
९जेव्हा लेआने पाहिले की, आता आपल्याला मुले होण्याचे थांबले आहे. तेव्हा तिने आपली दासी जिल्पा हिला घेतले आणि याकोबाला पत्नी म्हणून दिली.
10 And Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid, bare to Jacob a son:
१०नंतर लेआची दासी जिल्पाने याकोबाच्या मुलाला जन्म दिला.
11 and Leah said, Victory hath come! So she called his name Gad.
११लेआ म्हणाली, “मी सुदैवी आहे.” तेव्हा तिने त्याचे नाव गाद ठेवले.
12 And Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid bare a second son to Jacob;
१२नंतर लेआची दासी जिल्पाने याकोबाच्या दुसऱ्या मुलाला दिला.
13 and Leah said, For my happiness, surely happy have daughters pronounced me. So she called his name, Asher.
१३लेआ म्हणाली, “मी आनंदी आहे! इतर स्त्रिया मला आनंदी म्हणतील” म्हणून तिने त्याचे नाव आशेर ठेवले.
14 Then went Reuben, in the days of the wheat harvest, and found mandrakes, in the field, and brought them in unto Leah his mother, and Rachel said unto Leah, Pray give me, some of the mandrakes of thy son
१४गहू कापणीच्या हंगामाच्या दिवसात रऊबेन शेतात गेला आणि त्यास पुत्रदात्रीची फळे सापडली. त्याने ती आपली आई लेआ हिच्याकडे आणून दिली. नंतर राहेल लेआस म्हणाली, “तुझा मुलगा रऊबेन याने आणलेल्या पुत्रदात्रीच्या फळातून मला काही दे.”
15 And she said to her, Is it, a small thing, that thou hast taken away my husband? And wouldst thou take away, even the mandrakes of my son? Then said Rachel, Therefore, shall he lie with thee to-night, for the mandrakes of thy son.
१५लेआ तिला म्हणाली, “तू माझ्या नवऱ्याला माझ्यापासून घेतलेस हे काय कमी झाले? आता माझ्या मुलाची पुत्रदात्रीची फळेही तू घेतेस काय?” राहेल म्हणाली, “तुझ्या मुलाची पुत्रदात्रीची फळे मला देशील तर त्याच्या बदल्यात आज रात्री तो तुझ्याबरोबर झोपेल.”
16 And Jacob came in from the field, in the evening, so Leah went out to meet him and said: Unto me, shalt thou come in, for I have hired, thee, even with the mandrakes of my son. And he lay with her that night,
१६संध्याकाळी याकोब शेतावरून आला. तेव्हा लेआ त्यास भेटण्यास बाहेर गेली व ती म्हणाली, “आज रात्री तुम्ही माझ्याबरोबर झोपणार आहात, कारण माझ्या मुलाची पुत्रदात्रीची फळे देऊन मी तुम्हास मोलाने घेतले आहे.” तेव्हा याकोब त्या रात्री लेआपाशी झोपला.
17 And God hearkened unto Leah, —and she conceived and bare to Jacob a fifth son.
१७तेव्हा देवाने लेआचे ऐकले व ती गर्भवती राहिली आणि तिने याकोबाच्या पाचव्या मुलाला जन्म दिला.
18 Then said Leah. God hath given my hire, in that I gave my handmaid to my husband. So she called his name, Issachar.
१८लेआ म्हणाली, “देवाने माझे वेतन मला दिले आहे कारण मी माझी दासी माझ्या नवऱ्याला दिली.” तेव्हा तिने आपल्या मुलाचे नाव इस्साखार ठेवले.
19 And Leah conceived again and bare a sixth son to Jacob.
१९लेआ पुन्हा गरोदर राहिली व तिने याकोबाच्या सहाव्या मुलाला जन्म दिला.
20 Then said Leah, God hath dowered me even me with a hand-some dowry, Now! will my husband dwell with me, for I have borne him six sons. So she called his name, Zebulon.
२०लेआ म्हणाली, “देवाने मला उत्तम देणगी दिली आहे. आता माझा पती माझा आदर करील कारण मी त्याच्या सहा मुलांना जन्म दिला आहे.” तिने त्याचे नाव जबुलून ठेवले.
21 And afterwards she bare a daughter, —so she called her name, Dinah.
२१त्यानंतर तिला एक मुलगी झाली. तिने तिचे नाव दीना ठेवले.
22 Then God remembered Rachel, —and God hearkened unto her, and granted her to bear.
२२मग देवाने राहेलीचा विचार केला आणि तिचे ऐकले. त्याने तिची कूस वाहती केली.
23 So she conceived and bare a son, —and said, God hath taken away my reproach;
२३ती गर्भवती झाली व तिला मुलगा झाला. ती म्हणाली, “देवाने माझा अपमान दूर केला आहे.”
24 So she called his name Joseph, saying, Yahweh is adding unto me another son.
२४तिने त्याचे नाव योसेफ ठेवले. ती म्हणाली, “परमेश्वर देवाने आणखी एक मुलगा मला दिला आहे.”
25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Let me go that I may take my journey, unto my place, and to my land.
२५मग राहेलीला योसेफ झाल्यानंतर याकोब लाबानाला म्हणाला, “मला माझ्या स्वतःच्या घरी आणि माझ्या देशात मला पाठवा.
26 Come, give me my wives and my children for whom I have served thee and let me take my journey, —for, thou, knowest my service wherewith I have served thee.
२६ज्यांच्यासाठी मी तुमची सेवा केली आहे त्या माझ्या स्त्रिया आणि माझी मुले द्या आणि मला जाऊ द्या, कारण मी तुमची सेवा कशी केली आहे हे तुम्हास माहीत आहे.”
27 And Laban said unto him, If, I pray thee, I have found favour in thine eyes, …I have divined that Yahweh hath blessed me for thy sake.
२७लाबान त्यास म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराने केवळ तुझ्यामुळे मला आशीर्वादित केले आहे हे मी जाणतो. जर तुझ्या दृष्टीने माझ्यावर तुझी कृपा असेल तर आता थांब.”
28 And he said, —Come, fix thy wages for me, that I may give it!
२८नंतर तो म्हणाला, “तुला काय वेतन द्यावे हे सांग आणि ते मी देईन.”
29 And he said unto him, Thou, knowest how I have served thee, —and how thy cattle have fared, with me.
२९याकोब त्यास म्हणाला, “मी तुमची सेवा केली आहे आणि तुझी गुरेढोरे माझ्याजवळ कशी होती हे तुम्हास माहीत आहे.
30 For it was, little, that thou hadst—before I came and then it brake forth into multitude, and Yahweh blessed thee at my every step. Now, therefore, when am, I, also to do something for my own house?
३०मी येण्यापूर्वी तुम्हापाशी फार थोडी होती. आणि आता भरपूर वाढली आहेत. मी जेथे जेथे काम केले तेथे तेथे परमेश्वराने तुम्हास आशीर्वादित केले आहे. आता मी माझ्या स्वतःच्या घराची तरतूद कधी करू?”
31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said: Thou shall give me, nothing at all, If thou wilt do for me this thing, I will return, I will shepherd thy flock I will keep it:
३१म्हणून लाबान म्हणाला, “मी तुला काय देऊ?” याकोब म्हणाला, “तुम्ही मला काही देऊ नका. जर तुम्ही माझ्यासाठी ही गोष्ट कराल तर मी पूर्वीप्रमाणे आपले कळप चारीन व सांभाळीन.
32 Let me pass through all thy flock to-day, removing from thence every young one that is speckled and spotted and every young one that is dark-coloured among the young sheep, and spotted and speckled among the goats, and they shall be my wages.
३२परंतु आज मला तुमच्या सगळ्या कळपात फिरून त्यातील मेंढरांपैकी ठिपकेदार व प्रत्येक काळे व तपकरी असलेली मेंढरे व शेळ्यांतून तपकरी आणि काळ्या रंगाची ही मी बाजूला करीन; हेच माझे वेतन असेल.
33 And my righteousness shall answer for me on a future day, when thou shall come in respecting my hire that is before thee, Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and dark-coloured among the young sheep, stolen, shall it be accounted, if found with me.
३३त्यानंतर तुमच्यापुढे असलेल्या माझ्या वेतनाविषयी हिशोब घ्यायला याल तेव्हा माझा प्रामाणिकपणा माझ्याकरिता साक्ष देईल, जर त्यामध्ये तुम्हास माझ्याजवळच्या शेळ्यांतले जे प्रत्येक ठिपकेदार व तपकरी नाही व मेंढरांतले जे काळे नाही ते आढळले, तर ते मी चोरले आहे असे समजावे.”
34 Then said Laban, Lo! would it might be according to thy word!
३४लाबान म्हणाला, “मी मान्य करतो. तुझ्या शब्दाप्रमाणे कर.”
35 So he removed, on that day, the he-goats that were striped and spotted and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and every dark-coloured one among the young sheep, —and delivered them into the hand of his sons;
३५परंतु त्याच दिवशी लाबानाने ठिपकेदार व बांडे एडके तसेच ठिपकेदार व बांड्या शेळ्या आणि मेंढरापैकी काळी मेंढरे कळपातून काढून लपवली, गुपचूप ती आपल्या मुलांच्या हवाली केली व त्यावर लक्ष ठेवून त्यांना सांभाळण्यास सांगितले;
36 then put he a journey of three days between himself and Jacob, —but, Jacob himself, continued tending the flocks of Laban that were left.
३६तेव्हा लाबानाने आपल्यामध्ये व याकोबामध्ये तीन दिवसाचे अंतर ठेवले. याकोब लाबानाचे बाकीचे कळप चारीत राहिला.
37 So then Jacob took him rods of young storax, and hazel and maple, —and peeled in them white stripes, laying bare the white which was on the rods.
३७मग याकोबाने हिवर व बदाम व अर्मोन या झाडांच्या हिरव्या कोवळ्या फांद्या कापून घेतल्या, त्याने त्यांच्या साली, त्याचे आतील पांढरे पट्टे दिसेपर्यंत त्या सोलून काढल्या.
38 And he set the rods which he had peeled, in the channels in the troughs of water, —where the flocks came in to drink straight before the flocks, and the females of the flock used to be in heat when they came in to drink;
३८त्याने त्या पांढऱ्या फांद्या किंवा पांढरे फोक कळपांच्या समोर पाणी पिण्याच्या टाक्यात ठेवले जेव्हा शेळ्यामेंढ्या पाणी पिण्यास तेथे येत तेव्हा त्यांच्यावर त्याचे नर उडत व त्या फळत.
39 and the males of the flock were in heat before the rods, —so the flocks brought forth ring-straked, speckled, and spotted.
३९तेव्हा त्या काठ्यांपाशी शेळ्यामेंढ्यांचे कळप फळले आणि त्या कळपात बांडी व ठिपकेदार, तपकरी अशी पिल्ले झाली.
40 The rams also, did Jacob separate, and then set the faces of the flocks towards the ring-straked and all the dark-coloured, among the flocks of Laban, —and he put his own droves by themselves, and put them not with the flocks of Laban.
४०याकोब कळपातील इतर जनावरांतून ठिपकेदार, पांढऱ्या ठिपक्यांची व काळी करडी कोकरे लाबानाच्या कळपापासून वेगळी करून ठेवत असे.
41 So it came to pass whensoever the stronger of the flocks were in heat, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flocks in the channels, —that the females might be in heat among the rods;
४१जेव्हा जेव्हा कळपातील चांगली पोसलेली जनावरे फळत असत तेव्हा तेव्हा याकोब त्या पांढऱ्या फांद्या त्यांच्या नजरेसमोर ठेवी आणि मग ती जनावरे त्या फांद्यांसमोर फळत.
42 but, when the flocks were late in bearing, he did not set them, —and so the late-born were Laban’s, but the strong ones Jacob’s.
४२परंतु जेव्हा दुर्बल जनावरे फळत तेव्हा याकोब त्यांच्या नजरेसमोर त्या झाडांच्या फांद्या ठेवत नसे. म्हणून मग अशक्त नर-माद्यापासून झालेली करडी, कोकरे लाबानाची होत. आणि सशक्त नर-माद्यांपासून झालेली करडी, कोकरे याकोबाची होत.
43 Thus did the man break forth, exceedingly, —thus came he to have flocks in abundance, and maid-servants, and men-servants and camels and asses.
४३अशा प्रकारे याकोब संपन्न झाला. त्याच्यापाशी शेरडेमेंढरे, उंट, गाढवे व दासदासी हे सर्व भरपूर होते.
