Genesis 23
1 And the life of Sarah came to be, a hundred and twenty-seven years, —the years of the life of Sarah.
És volt Sárának élete: százhuszonhét év; ezek Sára életévei.
2 And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron in the land of Canaan, —and Abraham went in to wail for Sarah and to weep for her.
És meghalt Sára Kirjász-Árbában, az Hebrón, Kánaán országában; és eljött Ábrahám, hogy gyászolja Sárát és sirassa.
3 And Abraham rose up from over the face of his dead, —and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying;
És fölkelt Ábrahám az ő halottja mellől és szólt Chész fiaihoz, mondván:
4 A sojourner and settler, am I with you, —Give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, That I may bury my dead, from before me.
Idegen és lakó vagyok és nálatok, adjatok nekem sírnak való birtokot nálatok, hadd temessem el halottamat magam elől.
5 And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him:
És feleltek Chész fiai Ábrahámnak, mondván neki:
6 Hear us, my lord! A prince of God, art thou in our midst, In the choice of our buryingplaces, bury thy dead, —Not, a man from among us his, burying-place, will withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.
Hallgass meg minket, Uram! Isten fejedelme vagy te mi közöttünk, sírjaink legkiválóbbjába temesd el halottadat; senki közülünk sem fogja megvonni az ő sírját te tőled, hogy eltemessed a te halottadat.
7 And Abraham rose up, and bowed himself down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth;
Ábrahám pedig fölkelt és meghajolt az ország népe, Chész fiai előtt.
8 and spake with them, saying, —If it is with the consent of your minds that I should bury my dead from before me, hear me, and intercede for me, with Ephron son of Zohar:
És szólt hozzájuk mondván: Ha úgy akarjátok, hogy eltemessem halottamat magam elől, hallgassatok meg engem és könyörögjetek értem Efrónnál, Cóchár fiánál,
9 That he would give me, the cave of Machpelah, which pertaineth unto him, which is within the bounds of his field, —For full silver, let him give it me in your midst, For a possession of a buryingplace.
hogy adja nekem a Máchpéla barlangját, mely az övé, mely az ő mezeje végében van; teljes pénzért adja nekem közöttetek sírnak való birtokul.
10 Now, Ephron, was sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth, —so Ephron the Hittite responded to Abraham, in the ears of the sons of Heth, even all that were entering the gate of his city, saying:
Efrón pedig ült Chész fiai között; és felelt Efrón, a chitti, Ábrahámnak, Chész fiai fülének hallatára, mindazok hallatára, akik bemennek az ő városának kapuján, mondván:
11 Nay, my lord, hear me, The field, have I given to thee And, the cave that is therein, to thee, have I given it, —In the eyes of the sons of my people, have I given it thee Bury thy dead.
Nem, uram! hallgass meg engem; a mezőt neked adtam és a barlangot, mely benne van, neked adtam azt, népem fiai szeme előtt adtam azt neked; temesd el halottadat.
12 So Abraham boweth himself down, before the people of the land:
És meghajolt Ábrahám az ország népe előtt.
13 and spake unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land saying, Only if, thou, wouldst, hear me, —I have given the silver of the field Take it of me, That I may bury my dead here.
És szólt Efrónhoz az ország népének füle hallatára, mondván: Bárcsak meghallgatnál engem: megadom a pénzt a mezőért, vedd el tőlem, hogy hadd temessem el halottamat oda.
14 And Ephron responded to Abraham, saying to him,
És felelt Efrón Ábrahámnak, mondván neki:
15 My lord, hear me, —Land worth four hundred shekels of silver—betwixt me and thee, what is that? And thy dead., bury thou.
Uram, hallgass meg engem! Egy föld négyszáz sékel ezüstért, köztem és közted, mi az? Halottadat pedig temesd el.
16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver of which he had spoken in the ears of the sons of Heth, —four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant,
És elértette Ábrahám Efrónt és lemérte Ábrahám Efrónnak az ezüstöt, amelyről szólt Chész fiainak füle hallatára, négyszáz sékel ezüstöt, kelendőt a kereskedőnél.
17 So was confirmed the field of Ephron, which is in Machpelah, which is before Mamre, —the field and the cave which is therein, and all the timber which was in the field, which was in all the boundary thereof round about,
Így maradt Efrón mezeje, mely Máchpélában van, mely Mámré előtt van, a mező és a barlang, mely benne van és minden fa, mely a mezőn van, egész határában, köröskörül,
18 to Abraham as a purchase in the eyes of the sons of Heth, —with all who were entering the gate of his city.
Ábrahámé vétel gyanánt, Chész fiai szeme előtt, mindazok előtt, akik bemennek az ő városának kapuján,
19 And after this, did Abraham bury Sarah his wife, within the cave of the field of Machpelah, over against Mamre, the same, is Hebron, —in the land of Canaan.
És aztán eltemette Ábrahám Sárát, az ő feleségét Máchpéla mezejének barlangjába, Mámré előtt, az Hebrón; Kánaán országában.
20 So was confirmed the field with the cave which was therein to Abraham, for a possession of a buryingplace, —from the sons of Heth.
És maradt a mező, meg a barlang, mely benne van, Ábrahámé sírnak való birtokul Chész fiaitól.
