< Genesis 23 >
1 And the life of Sarah came to be, a hundred and twenty-seven years, —the years of the life of Sarah.
Sara anakhala ndi moyo zaka 127.
2 And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron in the land of Canaan, —and Abraham went in to wail for Sarah and to weep for her.
Anamwalirira ku Kiriyati-Araba, kumeneku ndi ku Hebroni, mʼdziko la Kanaani, ndipo Abrahamu anapita kukakhuza maliro a Sara, namulirira.
3 And Abraham rose up from over the face of his dead, —and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying;
Kenaka Abrahamu ananyamuka pamene panali mtembo wa mkazi wakepo kupita kukayankhula ndi anthu a ku Hiti. Ndipo anati,
4 A sojourner and settler, am I with you, —Give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, That I may bury my dead, from before me.
“Ine ndine mlendo wongoyendayenda kwanu kuno. Bwanji mundigulitse malo woti akhale manda kuti ndiyikepo thupi la mkazi wanga.”
5 And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him:
Anthu a ku Hiti aja anamuyankha Abrahamu kuti,
6 Hear us, my lord! A prince of God, art thou in our midst, In the choice of our buryingplaces, bury thy dead, —Not, a man from among us his, burying-place, will withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.
“Tatimverani mbuye wathu, inu ndinu mwana wa mfumu wamkulu pakati pathu. Chonde ikani thupi la mkazi wanu mʼmanda aliwonse amene mungafune. Palibe mmodzi wa ife amene adzakukanizani manda ake kuti musayike mkazi wanu.”
7 And Abraham rose up, and bowed himself down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth;
Tsono Abrahamu anayimirira naweramira anthu a dziko la Hiti aja
8 and spake with them, saying, —If it is with the consent of your minds that I should bury my dead from before me, hear me, and intercede for me, with Ephron son of Zohar:
nati, “Ngati mwaloladi kuti ndiyike mkazi wanga kuno, ndiye ndimvereni. Mundipemphere kwa Efroni mwana wa Zohari
9 That he would give me, the cave of Machpelah, which pertaineth unto him, which is within the bounds of his field, —For full silver, let him give it me in your midst, For a possession of a buryingplace.
kuti andigulitse phanga la Makipela, limene lili kumapeto kwa munda wake. Mumupemphe kuti andigulitse pamtengo wake ndithu inu mukuona kuti akhale manda.”
10 Now, Ephron, was sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth, —so Ephron the Hittite responded to Abraham, in the ears of the sons of Heth, even all that were entering the gate of his city, saying:
Pamenepo nʼkuti Efroni Mhiti ali pomwepo pakati pa anthuwo amene anabwera ku chipata cha mzindawo. Ndipo onse akumva anamuyankha Abrahamu
11 Nay, my lord, hear me, The field, have I given to thee And, the cave that is therein, to thee, have I given it, —In the eyes of the sons of my people, have I given it thee Bury thy dead.
nati, “Ayi mbuye wanga tandimverani, ine ndikukupatsani mundawo ndiponso phanga limene lili mʼmenemo. Ndikukupatsani malowa pamaso pa anthu a mtundu wanga. Chonde ikani mtembo wamkazi wanu.”
12 So Abraham boweth himself down, before the people of the land:
Apo Abrahamu anaweramanso mwaulemu pamaso pa anthu a mʼdzikolo
13 and spake unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land saying, Only if, thou, wouldst, hear me, —I have given the silver of the field Take it of me, That I may bury my dead here.
ndipo anthu onse akumva Abrahamu anati kwa Efroni, “Ngati kungatheke, chonde ndimvereni. Ine ndichita kugula mundawu. Landirani ndalama za mundawu kuti ine ndiyike mkazi wanga mʼmenemo.”
14 And Ephron responded to Abraham, saying to him,
Koma Efroni anamuyankha Abrahamu nati,
15 My lord, hear me, —Land worth four hundred shekels of silver—betwixt me and thee, what is that? And thy dead., bury thou.
“Mundimvere mbuye wanga; mundawo mtengo wake ndi masekeli asiliva okwana 400. Koma zimenezo nʼchiyani pakati pa ine ndi inu? Ikani mtembo wa mkazi wanu.”
16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver of which he had spoken in the ears of the sons of Heth, —four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant,
Abrahamu anavomera mtengo umene ananena Efroni Ahiti onse akumva ndipo anamuwerengera masekeli asiliva okwana 400 monga mwa mtengo wa ndalama umene amalonda a nthawi imeneyo ankagwiritsa ntchito.
17 So was confirmed the field of Ephron, which is in Machpelah, which is before Mamre, —the field and the cave which is therein, and all the timber which was in the field, which was in all the boundary thereof round about,
Choncho munda wa Efroni wa ku Makipela umene unali kufupi ndi Mamre, kuphatikiza munda, phanga linali mʼmenemo pamodzi ndi mitengo yonse ya mʼmundamo, zinaperekedwa
18 to Abraham as a purchase in the eyes of the sons of Heth, —with all who were entering the gate of his city.
kwa Abrahamu ngati chuma chake pamaso pa anthu onse a ku Hiti amene anabwera ku chipata cha mzindawo.
19 And after this, did Abraham bury Sarah his wife, within the cave of the field of Machpelah, over against Mamre, the same, is Hebron, —in the land of Canaan.
Zitatha izi, Abrahamu anayika mkazi wake Sara mʼphanga la mʼmunda wa ku Makipela, kufupi ndi ku Mamre (kumene ndi ku Hebroni) mʼdziko la Kanaani.
20 So was confirmed the field with the cave which was therein to Abraham, for a possession of a buryingplace, —from the sons of Heth.
Choncho Ahiti anapereka munda pamodzi ndi phanga la mʼmenemo kwa Abrahamu kuti akhale manda.
