Genesis 22
1 And it came to pass after these things, that God, did prove Abraham, —and he said unto him, Abraham! And he said Behold me!
Nach diesen Geschichten versuchte Gott Abraham und sprach zu ihm: Abraham! Und er antwortete: Hier bin ich.
2 And he said—Take, I pray thee, thy son, thine only one, whom thou lovest, even, Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah and cause him to ascend there as an ascending-sacrifice, on one of the mountains which I shall name unto thee.
Und er sprach: Nimm Isaak, deinen einigen Sohn, den du lieb hast, und gehe hin in das Land Morija und opfere ihn daselbst zum Brandopfer auf einem Berge, den ich dir sagen werde.
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took his two young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the pieces of wood for an ascending-sacrifice, and mounted and went his way unto the place which God had named to him.
Da stund Abraham des Morgens frühe auf und gürtete seinen Esel und nahm mit sich zween Knaben und seinen Sohn Isaak und spaltete Holz zum Brandopfer, machte sich auf und ging hin an den Ort, davon ihm Gott gesagt, hatte.
4 It was, on the third day, that Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
Am dritten Tage hub Abraham seine Augen auf und sah die Stätte von ferne.
5 And Abraham said unto his young men—Tarry by yourselves here with the ass, but I and the young man must go yonder, —that we may bow ourselves down and return unto you.
Und sprach zu seinen Knaben: Bleibet ihr hie mit dem Esel; ich und der Knabe wollen dorthin gehen; und wenn wir angebetet haben, wollen wir wieder zu euch kommen.
6 So Abraham took the pieces of wood for the ascending-sacrifice, and laid them on Isaac his son, and took in his own hand the fire and the knife, and they went on their way, both of them together.
Und Abraham nahm das Holz zum Brandopfer und legte es auf seinen Sohn Isaak; er aber nahm das Feuer und Messer in seine Hand, und gingen die beiden miteinander.
7 Then said Isaac unto Abraham his father, then said he; My father! And he said, Behold me, my son, And he said, Behold the fire, and the pieces of wood, —but where is the lamb, for an ascending-sacrifice?
Da sprach Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham: Mein Väter! Abraham antwortete: Hie bin ich, mein Sohn. Und er sprach: Siehe, hie ist Feuer und Holz; wo ist aber das Schaf zum Brandopfer?
8 And Abraham said, God, will provide for himself the lamb for an ascending-sacrifice, my son! So they went on their way, both of them, together.
Abraham antwortete: Mein Sohn, Gott wird ihm ersehen ein Schaf zum Brandopfer. Und gingen die beiden miteinander.
9 Then came they into the place which God had named to him, and Abraham built there the altar, and laid in order the pieces of wood, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, above the pieces of wood.
Und als sie kamen an die Stätte, die ihm Gott sagte, bauete Abraham daselbst einen Altar und legte das Holz drauf und band seinen Sohn Isaak, legte ihn auf den Altar oben auf das Holz
10 And Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife, —to slay his son.
und reckte seine Hand aus und fassete das Messer, daß er seinen Sohn schlachtete.
11 Then called out unto him the messenger of Yahweh out of the heavens, and said. Abraham, Abraham! And he said Behold me!
Da rief ihm der Engel des HERRN vom Himmel und sprach: Abraham, Abraham! Er antwortete: Hie bin ich.
12 Then he said, Do not put forth thy hand unto the young man, neither do to him—anything at all, —for, now, know I that one who reverest God, thou art, when thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only one, from me.
Er sprach: Lege deine Hand nicht an den Knaben und tu ihm nichts! Denn nun weiß ich, daß du Gott fürchtest und hast deines einigen Sohnes nicht verschonet um meinetwillen.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo! a ram, behind, caught in a thicket by his horns, and Abraham went, and took the ram, and caused him to ascend as an ascending-sacrifice instead of his son.
Da hub Abraham seine Augen auf und sah einen Widder hinter ihm in der Hecke mit seinen Hörnern hangen; und ging hin und nahm den Widder und opferte ihn zum Brandopfer an seines Sohnes Statt.
14 So Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh-yireh, —as to which it is still said to-day, In the mountain of Yahweh, will provision be made.
Und Abraham hieß die Stätte: Der HERR siehet. Daher man noch heutigestages saget: Auf dem Berge, da der HERR siehet.
15 Then called out the messenger of Yahweh unto Abraham, —a second time out of the heavens;
Und der Engel des HERRN rief Abraham abermal vom Himmel
16 and said, By myself, have I sworn is the oracle of Yahweh, —Because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one,
und sprach: Ich habe bei mir selbst geschworen, spricht der HERR, dieweil du solches getan hast und hast deines einigen Sohnes nicht verschonet,
17 That I will, richly bless, thee, and, abundantly multiply, thy seed, as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the lip of the sea, —that thy seed may take possession of the gate of his foes:
daß ich deinen Samen segnen und mehren will wie die Sterne am Himmel und wie den Sand am Ufer des Meeres; und dein Same soll besitzen die Tore seiner Feinde.
18 So shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves in thy seed, —Because thou didst hearken unto my voice.
Und durch deinen Samen sollen alle Völker auf Erden gesegnet werden, darum daß du meiner Stimme gehorchet hast.
19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they mounted, and went on their way together unto Beer-sheba, —and Abraham dwelt in Beer-sheba.
Also kehrete Abraham wieder zu seinen Knaben; und machten sich auf und zogen miteinander gen Bersaba und wohnete daselbst.
20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, —Behold! Milcah—she also, hath borne sons, to Nahor thy brother:
Nach diesen Geschichten begab sich's, daß Abraham angesagt ward: Siehe, Milka hat auch Kinder geboren deinem Bruder Nahor,
21 Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother, —and Kemuel, father of Aram—
nämlich Uz, den Erstgeborenen, und Bus, seinen Bruder, und Kemuel, von dem die Syrer kommen,
22 and Chesed and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, —and Bethuel;
und Chesed und Haso und Pildas und Jedlaph und Bethuel.
23 And, Bethuel, hath begotten Rebekah, —These eight, hath Milcah borne to Nahor brother of Abraham.
Bethuel aber zeugete Rebekka. Diese acht gebar Milka dem Nahor, Abrahams Bruder.
24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also, hath borne Tebah and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.
Und sein Kebsweib, mit Namen Rehuma, gebar auch, nämlich den Theba, Gaham, Thahas und Maacha.
