< Genesis 16 >
1 But Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children, —she had, however, an Egyptian handmaid, whose name was Hagar.
Zvino Sarai, mukadzi waAbhurama, akanga asina kumuberekera vana. Asi iye akanga ano murandakadzi wechiIjipita ainzi Hagari;
2 So then Sarai said unto Abram Behold, I pray thee, Yahweh hath restrained me, from bearing, go in I pray thee unto, my handmaid, peradventure I may be built up from, her, And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
saka akati kuna Abhurama, “Jehovha akandikonesa kubereka vana. Enda hako undovata nomurandakadzi wangu; zvimwe ndingaita mhuri kubudikidza naye.” Abhurama akabvuma zvakanga zvataurwa naSarai.
3 So Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian. her handmaid, at the end of ten years of Abram’s dwelling in the land of Canaan, and gave her to Abram her husband, to be to him as a wife.
Saka shure kwokugara kwaAbhurama kwamakore gumi muKenani, Sarai mukadzi wake akatora Hagari murandakadzi wake wechiIjipita akamupa kumurume wake kuti ave mukadzi wake.
4 And he went in unto Hagar and she conceived, —and when she saw that she had conceived, lightly esteemed, was her lady, in her eyes.
Akavata naHagari uye Hagari akabata pamuviri. Paakaziva kuti akanga ava napamuviri, akatanga kuzvidza tenzikadzi wake.
5 Then said Sarai unto Abram: My wrong, is, on thee! I, gave my handmaid into thy bosom, and when she seeth that she hath conceived, then am I lightly esteemed in her eyes Yahweh judge betwixt me and her.
Ipapo Sarai akati kuna Abhurama, “Ndiwe waita kuti nditambudzike. Ndakaisa murandakadzi wangu mumaoko ako, uye zvino zvaava kuziva kuti ava napamuviri, ava kundizvidza. Mwari ngaatonge pakati pangu newe.”
6 And Abram said unto Sarai, Lo! thy handmaid, is in thy hand, do to her what is good in thine eyes. So Sarai humbled her, and she fled from her face.
Abhurama akati, “Murandakadzi wako ari mumaoko ako. Ita naye zvaunofunga kuti zvakaisvonaka.” Ipapo Sarai akabata Hagari zvakaipa; saka akatiza.
7 And the messenger of Yahweh found her by the fountain of water in the desert, —by the fountain in the way to Shur.
Mutumwa waJehovha akawana Hagari ari pedyo netsime raiva murenje; rakanga riri tsime rakanga riri parutivi pomugwagwa unoenda kuShuri.
8 So he said Hagar! handmaid of Sarai! Whence hast thou come, and whither wouldst thou go? And she said, From the face of Sarai, my lady, am, I, fleeing.
Uye akati, “Hagari, murandakadzi waSarai, wabvepiko, uye uri kuendepiko?” Iye akati, “Ndiri kutiza kubva kuna tenzikadzi wangu Sarai.”
9 And the messenger of Yahweh said to her, Return unto thy lady, —and humble thyself under her hands.
Ipapo mutumwa waJehovha akati kwaari, “Dzokera kuna tenzikadzi wako undozvininipisa pasi pake.”
10 And the messenger of Yahweh said to her, I will, greatly multiply, thy seed—so that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
Mutumwa akatizve, “Ndichawandisa zvizvarwa zvako zvokuti havangaverengeki.”
11 And the messenger of Yahweh said to her, Behold thee! with child, and about bearing a son—and thou shalt call his name Ishmael ["God hearkeneth"] for Yahweh hath hearkened unto thy humiliation.
Mutumwa waJehovha akatiwo kwaari: “Iye zvino wava nemimba uye uchava nomwanakomana. Uchamutumidza zita rokuti Ishumaeri, nokuti Jehovha anzwa nezvokutambura kwako.
12 But, he, will be a wild ass of a man, his hand, against every one, and every one’s hand against him—yet, in presence of all his brethren, shall he have his habitation.
Achava mbongoro yomusango: ruoko rwake rucharwa navanhu vose uye ruoko rwavanhu vose rucharwa naye, uye achararama mukupesana nehama dzake dzose.”
13 And she called the name of Yahweh, who had spoken unto her, Thou GOD of vision! For she said. Do I even here, retain my vision after a vision?
Hagari akapa zita iri kuna Jehovha akataura naye akati: “Ndimi Jehovha anondiona,” nokuti akati, “Zvino ndaona Iye anondiona.”
14 On this account, is the well called, the well of the life of vision, lo! it is between Kadesh and Bered.
Ndokusaka tsime rakanzi Bheeri Rahai Roi; richiripo, pakati peKadheshi neBheredhi.
15 So Hagar bare to Abram a son, —and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bare, Ishmael.
Saka Hagari akaberekera Abhurama mwanakomana, uye Abhurama akapa zita rokuti Ishumaeri kumwanakomana waakanga abereka.
16 Now, Abram, was eighty—six years old, —when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
Abhurama akanga ava namakore makumi masere namatanhatu okuberekwa paakaberekerwa mwanakomana naHagari.
