Genesis 14
1 And it came to pass, in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, —Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim,
Ikiwa katika siku za Amrafeli, mfalme wa shinari, Arioko, mfalme wa Elasari, Kedorlaoma, mfalme wa Elam na Tidali, mfalme wa Goimu,
2 that they made war, with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, —Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela—the same, is Zoar.
walifanya vita dhidi ya Bera mfalme wa Sodoma, Birsha, mfalme wa Gomora, Shinabu, mfalme wa Adma, Shemeberi, mfalme wa Seboim, na mfalme wa Bela(pia ikiitwa Soari).
3 All these, joined together in the valley of the open fields, the same, is the Salt Sea.
Hawa wafalme watano wa mwisho waliungana pamoja katika bonde la Sidim (pia likiitwa bahari ya chumvi).
4 Twelve years, had they served Chedorlaomer, —but in the thirteenth year had they rebelled;
Kwa miaka kumi na mbili walimtumikia Kedorlaoma, lakini katika mwaka wa kumi na tatu waliasi.
5 and in the fourteenth year, had Chedorlaomer come in and the kings who were with him, so they smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, —and the Emim, in Shaveh-kiriathaim;
Kisha katika mwaka wa kumi na nne, Kedorlaoma na wafalme waliokuwa pamoja nae walikuja na kuwashambulia Warefai katika Ashteroth Karnaimu, na Wazuzi katika Hamu, Waemi katika Shawe Kiriathaimu,
6 and the Horites in their Mount Seir, —as far as El-paran, which is by the desert.
na Wahori katika mlima wao wa Seiri, mpaka El Parani iliyo karibu na jangwa.
7 So they returned and came in unto En-mishpat, the same, is Kadish, and smote all the field of the Amalekites, —and the Amorites also that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar,
Kisha wakarudi wakaja En Misifati (Pia ikiitwa Kadeshi), na kuishinda nchi yote ya Waamaleki, na pia Waamori ambao waliishi Hasasoni Tamari.
8 Thus then went forth the King of Sodom and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela the same, is Zoar—and set themselves in array against them for battle, in the valley of the open fields:

9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, —four kings against five.
dhidi ya Kadorlaoma, mfalme wa Elam, Tidali mfalme wa Goim, Amrafeli, mfalme wa Shinari, Arioki, mfalme wa Elasari; wafme wanne dhidi ya wale watano.
10 Now, the valley of the open fields, had many pits of bitumen, so the king of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there, —while, they who remained, towards a mountain, fled.
Na sasa bonde la Sidimu lilikuwa limejaa mashimo ya lami, na wafalme wa Sodoma na Gomora walipokimbia, wakaanguka pale. Wale waliosalia wakakimbilia milimani.
11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food and went their way.
Kwa hiyo adui akachukua mali zote za Sodoma na Gomora na vyakula vyao vyote, na wakaenda zao,
12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son with his goods, and went their way, —he, being a dweller in Sodom.
walipoondoka, wakamchukua pia Lutu, mtoto wa ndugu yake na Abram ambaye aliishi Sodoma, pamoja na mali zake zote.
13 Then came in a fugitive, and told Abram the Hebrew, —he, having his dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, they, also having a covenant with Abram.
Mmoja ambaye alitoroka alikuja na kumwambia Abram mwebrania. Alikuwa anaishi katika mialoni ya Mamre, mwamori ambaye alikuwa ni ndugu wa Eshkoli na Aneri ambao walikuwa washirika wa Abram.
14 So Abram, hearing that his brother had been taken captive, drew forth his trained men born in his house three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.
Abram aliposikia kuwa maadui wamemteka ndugu yake, akawaongoza wanaume waliofunzwa na kuzaliwa nyumbani mwake 318 na akawaongoza hadi Dani.
15 And he divided himself against them by night, he, and his servants, and smote them, —and pursued them as far as Hobah, which was on the left of Damascus.
Akawagawanya watu wake dhidi yao usiku na kuwavamia, na kuwafukuza mpaka Hoba, ambayo iko kaskazini mwa Dameski.
16 So he brought back all the goods, —yea Lot also his brother with his goods, did he bring back, and the women also, and the people.
Kisha akarudisha mali zote, pia akamrudisha ndugu yake Lutu na mali zake, pamoja na wanawake na watu wengine.
17 Then came forth the king of Sodom to meet him, after his return from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and the kings who were with him, —into the vale of Shaveh the same, was the vale of the king.
Baada ya Abram kurudi kutoka kumpiga Kadorlaoma na wafalme waliokuwa pamoja nae, mfalme wa Sodoma akatoka kuonana nae katika bonde la Shawe (pia iliitwa bonde la mfalme).
18 Now Melchizedek king of Salem, had brought forth bread and wine, —he, being priest of GOD Most High.
Melkizedeki, mfalme wa Salem, akaleta mkate na divai. Alikuwa ni kuhani wa Mungu aliye juu sana.
19 So he blessed him and said, —Blessed be Abram of GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth;
Alimbariki akisema, “Abarikiwea Abram na Mungu aliye juu sana, muumba wa mbingu na nchi.
20 And blessed be GOD Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. So he gave unto him a tenth of all.
Abarikiwe Mungu aliye juu sana, ambaye amekupatia adui zako katika mikono yako.” Kisha Abram akampatia sehemu ya kumi ya kila kitu.
21 Then said the king of Sodom unto Abram, —Give unto me the persons, but the goods, take thou for thyself.
Mfalme wa Sodama akamwambia Abram, “Nipatie watu, na ujichukulie wewe mwenyewe mali.”
22 And Abram said unto the king of Sodom, —I have lifted up my hand unto Yahweh GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth:
Abram akamwambia mfalme wa Sodoma, “Nimeinua juu mkono wangu kwa Yahwe, Mungu aliye juu sana, muumbaji wa mbingu na nchi,
23 That not from a thread even unto a sandal-thong, —will I take, anything, that is thine, —Lest thou shouldst say, I, enriched Abram!
kwamba sitachukua uzi wala gidamu ya kiatu, au kitu chochote ambacho ni chako, 'ili kwamba usiseme, nimemfanya Abram kuwa tajiri.'
24 Save only what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre, they may take their share.
Sitachukua chochote isipokuwa kile ambacho vijana wamekula na sehemu za watu waliokwenda nami. Aneri, Eskoli, na Mamre na wachukue sehemu zao.”
