Genesis 14

1 And it came to pass, in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, —Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim,

Şi s-a întâmplat în zilele lui Amrafel, împărat al Şinarului, Arioc, împărat al Elasarului, Chedorlaomer, împărat al Elamului şi Tidal, împărat al naţiunilor,

2 that they made war, with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, —Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela—the same, is Zoar.

Că aceştia au făcut război cu Bera, împăratul Sodomei, şi cu Birşa, împăratul Gomorei, Şinab, împărat al Admei, şi Şemeber, împăratul Ţeboimului, şi cu împăratul din Bela, care este Ţoar.

3 All these, joined together in the valley of the open fields, the same, is the Salt Sea.

Toţi aceştia s-au adunat în valea Sidim, care este marea sărată.

4 Twelve years, had they served Chedorlaomer, —but in the thirteenth year had they rebelled;

Doisprezece ani au servit lui Chedorlaomer, şi în al treisprezecelea an s-au răzvrătit.

5 and in the fourteenth year, had Chedorlaomer come in and the kings who were with him, so they smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, —and the Emim, in Shaveh-kiriathaim;

Şi în al paisprezecelea an a venit Chedorlaomer şi împăraţii care erau cu el şi au lovit pe refaimi în Aşterot Carnaim, şi pe zuzimi în Ham, şi pe emimi în Şave Chiriataim,

6 and the Horites in their Mount Seir, —as far as El-paran, which is by the desert.

Şi pe horiţi în muntele lor Seir, spre Elparan, care este lângă pustie.

7 So they returned and came in unto En-mishpat, the same, is Kadish, and smote all the field of the Amalekites, —and the Amorites also that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar,

Şi ei s-au întors şi au venit la Enmişpat, care este Cades, şi au lovit toată ţara amaleciţilor şi de asemenea pe amoriţi, care locuiesc în Haţeţon-Tamar.

8 Thus then went forth the King of Sodom and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela the same, is Zoar—and set themselves in array against them for battle, in the valley of the open fields:

Şi au ieşit împăratul Sodomei şi împăratul Gomorei şi împăratul Admei şi împăratul Ţeboimului şi împăratul din Bela (care este Ţoar) şi au intrat în luptă cu ei în valea Sidim;

9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, —four kings against five.

Cu Chedorlaomer, împăratul Elamului, şi cu Tidal împăratul naţiunilor, şi Amrafel, împăratul Şinarului, şi Arioc, împăratul Elasarului; patru împăraţi cu cinci.

10 Now, the valley of the open fields, had many pits of bitumen, so the king of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there, —while, they who remained, towards a mountain, fled.

Şi valea Sidim era plină cu gropi de smoală; şi împăraţii Sodomei şi Gomorei au fugit şi au căzut acolo; şi cei ce au rămas au fugit la munte.

11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food and went their way.

Şi au luat toate bunurile Sodomei şi Gomorei şi toate merindele lor şi au plecat.

12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son with his goods, and went their way, —he, being a dweller in Sodom.

Şi au luat pe Lot, fiul fratelui lui Avram, care locuia în Sodoma, şi bunurile lui şi au plecat.

13 Then came in a fugitive, and told Abram the Hebrew, —he, having his dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, they, also having a covenant with Abram.

Şi a venit unul care scăpase şi a spus lui Avram, evreul, căci locuia în câmpia lui Mamre amoritul, fratele lui Eşcol şi fratele lui Aner; şi aceştia erau aliaţi cu Avram.

14 So Abram, hearing that his brother had been taken captive, drew forth his trained men born in his house three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.

Şi când a auzit Avram că fratele său a fost luat captiv, a înarmat pe servitorii lui instruiţi, născuţi în casa lui, trei sute şi optsprezece, şi i-a urmărit până la Dan.

15 And he divided himself against them by night, he, and his servants, and smote them, —and pursued them as far as Hobah, which was on the left of Damascus.

Şi s-a împărţit împotriva lor, el şi servitorii lui, noaptea, şi i-a lovit şi i-a urmărit până la Hoba, care este la stânga Damascului.

16 So he brought back all the goods, —yea Lot also his brother with his goods, did he bring back, and the women also, and the people.

Şi a adus înapoi toate bunurile şi de asemenea a adus înapoi pe fratele său, Lot, şi bunurile lui şi pe femei de asemenea şi pe oameni.

17 Then came forth the king of Sodom to meet him, after his return from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and the kings who were with him, —into the vale of Shaveh the same, was the vale of the king.

Şi împăratul Sodomei a ieşit să îl întâmpine după întoarcerea lui de la măcelul lui Chedorlaomer şi a împăraţilor care erau cu el, la valea Şave, care este valea împăratului.

18 Now Melchizedek king of Salem, had brought forth bread and wine, —he, being priest of GOD Most High.

Şi Melchisedec, împăratul Salemului, a adus pâine şi vin; şi el era preotul Dumnezeului cel preaînalt.

19 So he blessed him and said, —Blessed be Abram of GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth;

Şi l-a binecuvântat şi a spus: Binecuvântat fie Avram de Dumnezeul cel preaînalt, stăpânul cerului şi al pământului;

20 And blessed be GOD Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. So he gave unto him a tenth of all.

Şi binecuvântat fie Dumnezeul cel preaînalt care a dat pe duşmanii tăi în mâna ta. Şi Avram i-a dat zeciuieli din toate.

21 Then said the king of Sodom unto Abram, —Give unto me the persons, but the goods, take thou for thyself.

Şi împăratul Sodomei i-a spus lui Avram: Dă-mi oamenii şi ia bunurile pentru tine.

22 And Abram said unto the king of Sodom, —I have lifted up my hand unto Yahweh GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth:

Şi Avram a spus împăratului Sodomei: Mi-am înălţat mâna spre DOMNUL, Dumnezeul cel preaînalt, stăpânul cerului şi pământului,

23 That not from a thread even unto a sandal-thong, —will I take, anything, that is thine, —Lest thou shouldst say, I, enriched Abram!

Că nu voi lua de la o aţă chiar până la o curea de sandală şi că nu voi lua nimic din ceea ce este al tău, ca nu cumva să spui: Eu l-am făcut pe Avram bogat;

24 Save only what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre, they may take their share.

În afară de ceea ce tinerii au mâncat şi partea oamenilor care au fost cu mine, Aner, Eşcol şi Mamre, lasă-i să îşi ia partea lor.
