Genesis 14
1 And it came to pass, in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, —Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim,
१त्यानंतर शिनाराचा राजा अम्राफेल, एल्लासाराचा राजा अर्योक, एलामाचा राजा कदार्लागोमर आणि गोयिमाचा राजा तिदाल यांच्या दिवसात असे झाले की,
2 that they made war, with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, —Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela—the same, is Zoar.
२त्यांनी सदोमाचा राजा बेरा, गमोराचा राजा बिर्शा, अदमाचा राजा शिनाब, सबोयिमाचा राजा शमेबर आणि बेला ज्याला सोअर म्हणतात त्याच्या राजांशी युद्ध केले.
3 All these, joined together in the valley of the open fields, the same, is the Salt Sea.
३नंतर हे पाच राजे सिद्दीम खोऱ्यात एकत्र जमले. या खोऱ्याला क्षार समुद्र असेही म्हणतात.
4 Twelve years, had they served Chedorlaomer, —but in the thirteenth year had they rebelled;
४त्यांनी बारा वर्षे कदार्लागोमरची सेवा केली होती, परंतु तेराव्या वर्षी त्यांनी त्याच्या विरूद्ध बंड केले.
5 and in the fourteenth year, had Chedorlaomer come in and the kings who were with him, so they smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, —and the Emim, in Shaveh-kiriathaim;
५त्यानंतर चौदाव्या वर्षी कदार्लागोमर व त्याच्या बरोबरचे राजे आले आणि त्यांनी अष्टरोथ-कर्णईम येथे रेफाईम लोकांस, हाम येथे जूजीम लोकांस, शावेह किर्याथाईम येथे एमीम या लोकांस मारले.
6 and the Horites in their Mount Seir, —as far as El-paran, which is by the desert.
६आणि होरी यांना त्यांच्या सेईर डोंगराळ प्रदेशात जे एल पारान रान आहे तेथपर्यंत त्यांनी जाऊन मारले.
7 So they returned and came in unto En-mishpat, the same, is Kadish, and smote all the field of the Amalekites, —and the Amorites also that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar,
७नंतर ते मागे फिरून एन-मिशपात म्हणजे कादेश येथे आले. आणि त्यांनी सर्व अमालेकी देशाचा आणि तसेच हससोन-तामार येथे राहणाऱ्या अमोरी लोकांचाही पराभव केला.
8 Thus then went forth the King of Sodom and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela the same, is Zoar—and set themselves in array against them for battle, in the valley of the open fields:
८नंतर सदोमाचा राजा, गमोराचा राजा, अदमाचा राजा, सबोयिमाचा राजा आणि बेला म्हणजे सोअराचा राजा ह्यांनी लढाईची तयारी केली.
9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, —four kings against five.
९एलामाचा राजा कदार्लागोमर, गोयिमाचा राजा तिदाल, शिनाराचा राजा अम्राफेल आणि एल्लासाराचा राजा अर्योक यांच्या विरूद्ध ते लढले. हे चार राजे पाच राजांविरूद्ध लढले.
10 Now, the valley of the open fields, had many pits of bitumen, so the king of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there, —while, they who remained, towards a mountain, fled.
१०सिद्दीम खोऱ्यात पूर्ण डांबराने भरलेले खड्डे होते आणि सदोम व गमोराचे राजे पळून जाताना त्यामध्ये पडले, जे राहिले ते डोंगराकडे पळून गेले.
11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food and went their way.
११अशा रीतीने शत्रूंनी सदोम व गमोरा नगराच्या सर्व वस्तू आणि त्यांचा सर्व अन्नसाठा लुटून घेऊन माघारी गेले.
12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son with his goods, and went their way, —he, being a dweller in Sodom.
१२ते गेले तेव्हा त्यांनी अब्रामाच्या भावाचा मुलगा लोट जो सदोमात राहत होता, त्यालासुद्धा त्याच्या सर्व मालमत्तेसह नेले.
13 Then came in a fugitive, and told Abram the Hebrew, —he, having his dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, they, also having a covenant with Abram.
१३तेथून पळून आलेल्या एकाने अब्राम इब्रीला हे सांगितले. तो तर अष्कोल व आनेर ह्यांचा भाऊ मम्रे अमोरी याच्या एलोन झाडांजवळ राहत होता आणि ते सर्व अब्रामाचे सहकारी होते.
14 So Abram, hearing that his brother had been taken captive, drew forth his trained men born in his house three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.
१४जेव्हा अब्रामाने ऐकले की, त्याच्या नातेवाइकांना शत्रूंनी पकडून नेले आहे तेव्हा त्याने आपल्या घरी जन्मलेली, लढाईचे शिक्षण घेतलेली तीनशे अठरा माणसे घेऊन सरळ दान नगरापर्यंत शत्रूंचा पाठलाग केला.
15 And he divided himself against them by night, he, and his servants, and smote them, —and pursued them as far as Hobah, which was on the left of Damascus.
१५त्याने रात्री त्याचे लोक त्यांच्याविरुद्ध विभागले आणि त्यांच्यावर हल्ला केला आणि दिमिष्काच्या डावीकडे होबापर्यंत त्यांचा पाठलाग केला.
16 So he brought back all the goods, —yea Lot also his brother with his goods, did he bring back, and the women also, and the people.
१६अब्रामाने सगळी मालमत्ता आणि त्याचा नातेवाइक लोट आणि त्याच्या वस्तू, त्याचप्रमाणे स्त्रिया आणि इतर लोक यांना परत आणले.
17 Then came forth the king of Sodom to meet him, after his return from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and the kings who were with him, —into the vale of Shaveh the same, was the vale of the king.
१७मग कदार्लागोमर व त्याच्याबरोबरचे राजे यांचा पराभव केल्यावर अब्राम परत आला तेव्हा सदोमाचा राजा शावेच्या खोऱ्यात त्यास भेटायला बाहेर आला. या खोऱ्याला राजाचे खोरे असे म्हणतात.
18 Now Melchizedek king of Salem, had brought forth bread and wine, —he, being priest of GOD Most High.
१८देवाचा याजक असलेला शालेमाचा राजा मलकीसदेक भाकर व द्राक्षरस घेऊन अब्रामाला भेटण्यास आला. हा परात्पर देवाचा याजक होता.
19 So he blessed him and said, —Blessed be Abram of GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth;
१९त्याने अब्रामाला आशीर्वाद देऊन म्हटले, “अब्रामा, आकाश व पृथ्वी यांचा उत्पन्नकर्ता परात्पर देव तुला आशीर्वाद देवो.
20 And blessed be GOD Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. So he gave unto him a tenth of all.
२०परात्पर देव ज्याने तुझे शत्रू तुझ्या हाती दिले तो धन्यवादित असो.” तेव्हा अब्रामाने त्यास सर्वाचा दहावा भाग दिला.
21 Then said the king of Sodom unto Abram, —Give unto me the persons, but the goods, take thou for thyself.
२१सदोमाचा राजा अब्रामास म्हणाला, “मला फक्त माझे लोक द्या आणि तुमच्यासाठी वस्तू घ्या.”
22 And Abram said unto the king of Sodom, —I have lifted up my hand unto Yahweh GOD Most High, possessor of [the] heavens and earth:
२२अब्राम सदोमाच्या राजाला म्हणाला, “आकाश व पृथ्वीचा उत्पन्नकर्ता परमेश्वर परात्पर देव याच्यासमोर आपला हात उंचावून मी वचन देतो की,
23 That not from a thread even unto a sandal-thong, —will I take, anything, that is thine, —Lest thou shouldst say, I, enriched Abram!
२३तुझा दोरा, चपलेचा बंध, किंवा जे तुझे आहे त्यातून मी काहीच घेणार नाही, नाहीतर तू म्हणशील, ‘अब्रामाला मी धनवान केले.’
24 Save only what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre, they may take their share.
२४माझ्या या तरुणांनी जे अन्न खाल्ले आहे तेवढे पुरे. आनेर, अष्कोल व मम्रे हे जे पुरुष माझ्याबरोबर गेले त्यांना आपापला वाटा घेऊ द्या.”
