Genesis 11
1 So it came to pass that, all the earth, was of one manner of speech, —and of one stock of words.
A była wszystka ziemia jednego języka, i jednej mowy.
2 And it came to pass as they brake away onwards, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and dwelt there.
I stało się, gdy wyszli od wschodu słońca, znaleźli równinę w ziemi Senaar, i mieszkali tam.
3 Then said they, each man to his friend, Come on! let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly, —So the bricks, served them for stone, and bitumen, served them for mortar,
I rzekł jeden do drugiego: Nuże naczyńmy cegły i wypalmy ją ogniem: i mieli cegłę miasto kamienia, a glinę iłowatą mieli miasto wapna.
4 And they said Come on! let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower with its head in the heavens, so let us make for ourselves a name, —lest we be scattered abroad over the face of all the earth.
Potem rzekli: Nużeż, zbudujmy sobie miasto i wieżą, której by wierzch dosięgał do nieba, a uczyńmy sobie imię; byśmy się snać nie rozproszyli po obliczu wszystkiej ziemi.
5 And Yahweh came down, to behold the city, and the tower, —which the sons of men had built.
Tedy Pan zstąpił, aby oglądał miasto ono, i wieżą, którą budowali synowie ludzcy.
6 Then said Yahweh: Lo! one people and one manner of speech, have they all, this, then is what they have begun to do, —now, therefore, nothing will be withholden from them which they may plan to do.
I rzekł Pan: Oto lud jeden, i język jeden tych wszystkich; a toć jest zaczęcie dzieła ich, a teraz nie zabroni im nikt wszystkiego, co zamyślili uczynić.
7 Come on! let us go down, and there confuse their speech, —that they may not understand, each man the speech of his friend.
Przetoż zstąpmy, a pomieszajmy tam język ich, aby jeden drugiego języka nie zrozumiał.
8 So Yahweh scattered them from thence over the face of all the earth, —and so they left off building the city.
A tak rozproszył je Pan stamtąd po obliczu wszystkiej ziemi; i przestali budować miasta onego.
9 For this cause, was the name thereof called Babel ["Confusion"]; because there, did Yahweh confuse the speech of all the earth, —and, from thence, did Yahweh scatter them abroad, over the face of all the earth.
Przetoż nazwał imię jego Babel; iż tam pomieszał Pan język wszystkiej ziemi; i stamtąd rozproszył je Pan po obliczu wszystkiej ziemi.
10 These, are the genealogies of Shem, Shem was a hundred years old when he begat Arpachshad, two years after the flood
Teć są rodzaje Semowe: Sem gdy miał sto lat, spłodził Arfachsada we dwa lata po potopie.
11 and Shem lived after he begat Arpachshad, five hundred years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Sem po spłodzeniu Arfachsada pięć set lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
12 And, Arpachshad, lived thirty-five years, —and begat Shelah;
Arfachsad też żył trzydzieści i pięć lat, i spłodził Selecha.
13 and Arpachshad lived after he begat Shelah, four hundred and three years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Arfachsad po spłodzeniu Selecha cztery sta lat, i trzy lata, i spłodził syny i córki.
14 And, Shelah, lived thirty years, —and begat Eber;
Selech zaś żył trzydzieści lat, i spłodził Hebera.
15 and Shelah lived, after he begat Eber, four hundred and three years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Selech po spłodzeniu Hebera cztery sta lat, i trzy lata, i spłodził syny i córki.
16 And Eber lived thirty-four years, —and begat Peleg;
I żył Heber trzydzieści lat i cztery, i spłodził Pelega.
17 and Eber lived after he begat Peleg, four hundred and thirty years, —and begat sons and daughters.
Żył też Heber po spłodzeniu Pelega, cztery sta lat, i trzydzieści lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:
Żył też Peleg trzydzieści lat, i spłodził Rehu.
19 and Peleg lived after he begat Reu, two hundred and nine years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Peleg po spłodzeniu Rehu dwieście lat, i dziewięć lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
20 And Reu lived thirty-two years—and begat Serug;
Także Rehu żył trzydzieści lat, i dwa, i spłodził Saruga.
21 and Reu lived after he begat Serug, two hundred and seven years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Rehu po spłodzeniu Saruga dwieście lat, i siedem lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
22 And Serug lived thirty years, —and begat Nahor;
Sarug zaś żył trzydzieści lat, i spłodził Nachora.
23 and Serug lived after he begat Nahor, two hundred years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Sarug po spłodzeniu Nachora dwieście lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
24 And Nahor lived twenty-nine years, —and begat Terah;
Także Nachor żył dwadzieścia i dziewięć lat, i spłodził Tarego.
25 and Nahor lived, after he begat Terah, a hundred and nineteen years, —and begat sons and daughters.
I żył Nachor po spłodzeniu Tarego sto lat i dziewiętnaście lat, i spłodził syny i córki.
26 And Terah lived seventy years, —and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
I żył Tare siedemdziesiąt lat, i spłodził Abrama, Nachora i Harana.
27 These, then are the generations of Terah, Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran, —and, Haran, begat Lot;
A teć są rodzaje Tarego: Tare spłodził Abrama, Nachora i Harana. Haran zaś spłodził Lota.
28 and Haran died, in the presence of Terah his father, —in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.
I umarł Haran przed obliczem Tarego ojca swego, w ziemi narodzenia swego, w Ur Chaldejskiem.
29 And Abram and Nahor took to themselves wives; the name of Abram’s wife, was Sarai; and, the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, daughter of Haran father of Milcah, and father of Iscah.
I pojęli Abram i Nachor sobie żony: imię żony Abramowej było Saraj, a imię żony Nachorowej Melcha, córka Harana, ojca Melchy, i ojca Jeschy.
30 And, Sarai, remained barren, —she had no child,
A była Saraj niepłodna, i nie miała dziatek.
31 And Terah took Abram his son and Lot son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, wife of Abram his son, —and came forth with them out of Ur of the Chaldees, that they might go their way towards the land of Canaan, and they came in as far as Haran and dwelt there.
Wziął tedy Tare Abrama syna swego, i Lota syna Haranowego, wnuka swego, i Saraj niewiastę swoję, żonę Abrama syna swego; i wyszli społu z Ur Chaldejskiego, aby szli do ziemi Chananejskiej; a przyszli aż do Haranu, i mieszkali tam.
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, —and Terah died in Haran.
I było dni Tarego dwieście lat, i pięć lat; i umarł Tare w Haranie.
