Genesis 11
1 So it came to pass that, all the earth, was of one manner of speech, —and of one stock of words.
| هەموو جیهان یەک زمان و یەک جۆر قسەکردنیان هەبوو. |
2 And it came to pass as they brake away onwards, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and dwelt there.
| ئینجا کاتێک بۆ ڕۆژهەڵات کۆچیان کرد، دەشتاییەکیان لە خاکی شینعار دۆزییەوە و لەوێ نیشتەجێ بوون. |
3 Then said they, each man to his friend, Come on! let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly, —So the bricks, served them for stone, and bitumen, served them for mortar,
| ئینجا بە یەکتریان گوت: «وەرن، با خشت دروستبکەین و تەواو سووری بکەینەوە.» ئیتر لە جیاتی بەرد خشتیان بەکارهێنا، قیریش لە جیاتی قوڕ. |
4 And they said Come on! let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower with its head in the heavens, so let us make for ourselves a name, —lest we be scattered abroad over the face of all the earth.
| هەروەها گوتیان: «وەرن، با شارێک بۆ خۆمان دروستبکەین لەگەڵ قوللەیەک کە سەری لە ئاسمان بدات. ناوێکیش بۆ خۆمان دروستدەکەین، تاکو بەسەر هەموو ڕووی زەویدا پەرت نەبین.» |
5 And Yahweh came down, to behold the city, and the tower, —which the sons of men had built.
| بەڵام یەزدان بۆ بینینی ئەو شار و قوللەیەی کە ئادەمیزاد دروستی دەکرد هاتە خوارەوە. |
6 Then said Yahweh: Lo! one people and one manner of speech, have they all, this, then is what they have begun to do, —now, therefore, nothing will be withholden from them which they may plan to do.
| یەزدان فەرمووی: «ئەگەر هەموویان یەک گەل و یەک زمان بن، ئەوە سەرەتای دەستپێکردنیانە، هیچ شتێک لەلایان مەحاڵ نابێت، لەوەی مەبەستیانە بیکەن. |
7 Come on! let us go down, and there confuse their speech, —that they may not understand, each man the speech of his friend.
| وەرن با بچینە خوارەوە و لەوێ زمانیان بشێوێنین، بۆ ئەوەی کەسیان لە زمانی ئەوی دیکەیان نەگات.» |
8 So Yahweh scattered them from thence over the face of all the earth, —and so they left off building the city.
| ئینجا یەزدان لەوێوە بەسەر هەموو زەویدا پەرتی کردن. ئیتر وازیان لە بنیادنانی شارەکە هێنا. |
9 For this cause, was the name thereof called Babel ["Confusion"]; because there, did Yahweh confuse the speech of all the earth, —and, from thence, did Yahweh scatter them abroad, over the face of all the earth.
| لەبەر ئەمە ناونرا بابل، چونکە لەوێدا یەزدان زمانی هەموو زەوی شێواند. هەر لەوێشەوە یەزدان بەسەر هەموو ڕووی زەویدا پەرتی کردن. |
10 These, are the genealogies of Shem, Shem was a hundred years old when he begat Arpachshad, two years after the flood
| ئەمانەش نەوەکانی سامن. دوو ساڵ لەدوای لافاوەکە، کاتێک سام تەمەنی سەد ساڵ بوو، ئەرپەکشاد لە نەوەی ئەو لەدایکبوو. |
11 and Shem lived after he begat Arpachshad, five hundred years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی ئەرپەکشاد، سام پێنج سەد ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
12 And, Arpachshad, lived thirty-five years, —and begat Shelah;
| ئەرپەکشاد لە تەمەنی سی و پێنج ساڵیدا بووە باوکی شالەح. |
13 and Arpachshad lived after he begat Shelah, four hundred and three years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی شالەح، ئەرپەکشاد چوار سەد و سێ ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
14 And, Shelah, lived thirty years, —and begat Eber;
| شالەح لە تەمەنی سی ساڵیدا بووە باوکی عێبەر. |
15 and Shelah lived, after he begat Eber, four hundred and three years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی عێبەر، شالەح چوار سەد و سێ ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
16 And Eber lived thirty-four years, —and begat Peleg;
| عێبەر لە تەمەنی سی و چوار ساڵیدا بووە باوکی پەلەگ. |
17 and Eber lived after he begat Peleg, four hundred and thirty years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| لەدوای لەدایکبوونی پەلەگ، عێبەر چوار سەد و سی ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:
| پەلەگ لە تەمەنی سی ساڵیدا بووە باوکی ڕەعو. |
19 and Peleg lived after he begat Reu, two hundred and nine years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی ڕەعو، پەلەگ دوو سەد و نۆ ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
20 And Reu lived thirty-two years—and begat Serug;
| ڕەعو لە تەمەنی سی و دوو ساڵیدا بووە باوکی سەروگ. |
21 and Reu lived after he begat Serug, two hundred and seven years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی سەروگ، ڕەعو دوو سەد و حەوت ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
22 And Serug lived thirty years, —and begat Nahor;
| سەروگ لە تەمەنی سی ساڵیدا بووە باوکی ناحۆر. |
23 and Serug lived after he begat Nahor, two hundred years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی ناحۆر، سەروگ دوو سەد ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
24 And Nahor lived twenty-nine years, —and begat Terah;
| ناحۆر لە تەمەنی بیست و نۆ ساڵیدا بووە باوکی تارەح. |
25 and Nahor lived, after he begat Terah, a hundred and nineteen years, —and begat sons and daughters.
| دوای لەدایکبوونی تارەح، ناحۆر سەد و نۆزدە ساڵ ژیا، کوڕ و کچی دیکەشی بوو. |
26 And Terah lived seventy years, —and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
| تارەح لە تەمەنی حەفتا ساڵیدا بووە باوکی ئەبرام و ناحۆر و هاران. |
27 These, then are the generations of Terah, Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran, —and, Haran, begat Lot;
| ئەمانەش نەوەکانی تارەحن. تارەح ئەبرام و ناحۆر و هارانی بوو. هارانیش لوتی بوو. |
28 and Haran died, in the presence of Terah his father, —in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.
| هاران پێش تارەحی باوکی لە ئووری کلدانییەکان مرد، لەو خاکەی تێیدا لەدایک ببوو. |
29 And Abram and Nahor took to themselves wives; the name of Abram’s wife, was Sarai; and, the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, daughter of Haran father of Milcah, and father of Iscah.
| ئەبرام و ناحۆر هەردووکیان ژنیان هێنا. ژنەکەی ئەبرام ناوی سارای بوو، ژنەکەی ناحۆریش ناوی میلکەی کچی هاران بوو، کە هاران باوکی میلکە و یەسکە بوو. |
30 And, Sarai, remained barren, —she had no child,
| سارای نەزۆک بوو، منداڵی نەبوو. |
31 And Terah took Abram his son and Lot son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, wife of Abram his son, —and came forth with them out of Ur of the Chaldees, that they might go their way towards the land of Canaan, and they came in as far as Haran and dwelt there.
| تارەح ئەبرامی کوڕی و لوتی کوڕەزای، کە کوڕی هاران بوو، لەگەڵ سارایی بووکی، کە ژنی ئەبرامی کوڕی بوو، برد و پێکەوە لە ئووری کلدانییەکانەوە بەڕێکەوتن تاکو بچنە خاکی کەنعان. بەڵام کاتێک هاتنە حەڕان، لەوێ نیشتەجێ بوون. |
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, —and Terah died in Haran.
| ئینجا تارەح لە تەمەنی دوو سەد و پێنج ساڵیدا لە حەڕان مرد. |
