Genesis 1
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
౧ఆరంభంలో దేవుడు ఆకాశాలనూ భూమినీ సృష్టించాడు.
2 Now, the earth, had become waste and wild, and darkness, was on the face of the roaring deep, —but, the Spirit of God, was brooding on the face of the waters,
౨భూమి నిరాకారంగా, శూన్యంగా ఉంది. జలాగాధం మీద చీకటి కమ్ముకుని ఉంది. దేవుని ఆత్మ ఆ మహా జలరాశిపై కదలాడుతూ ఉన్నాడు.
3 And God said—Light, be, And light was.
౩దేవుడు “వెలుగు కలుగు గాక” అన్నాడు. వెలుగు కలిగింది.
4 And God saw the light, that it was, good, and God divided the light, from the, darkness;
౪ఆ వెలుగు దేవునికి మంచిదిగా అనిపించింది. దేవుడు వెలుగునూ చీకటినీ వేరు చేశాడు.
5 and God called the light, day, but the darkness, called he, night. So it was evening—and it was morning, one day.
౫దేవుడు వెలుగుకు పగలు అనీ చీకటికి రాత్రి అని పేర్లు పెట్టాడు. సాయంత్రం అయింది, ఉదయం వచ్చింది, మొదటి రోజు.
6 And God said, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it be a means of dividing, between waters and waters,
౬దేవుడు “మహా జలరాశి మధ్యలో ఒక విశాల ప్రదేశం కలుగు గాక. అది నీళ్ళనుండి నీళ్ళను వేరు చేయు గాక” అన్నాడు.
7 And God made the expanse, and it divided between the waters that were under the expanse and the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.
౭దేవుడు ఆ విశాలమైన ప్రదేశాన్ని చేసి, దాని పైన ఉన్న జలాలను, కింద ఉన్న జలాలను వేరు చేసాడు. అది అలాగే జరిగింది.
8 And God called the expanse, heavens. So it was evening—and it was morning, a, second day.
౮దేవుడు ఆ విశాల ప్రదేశానికి “ఆకాశం” అని పేరు పెట్టాడు. రాత్రి అయింది, ఉదయం వచ్చింది, రెండవ రోజు.
9 And God said—Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together, into one place, and let the dry—ground appear. And it was so.
౯దేవుడు “ఆకాశం కింద ఉన్న జలాలు ఒకే చోట సమకూడి ఆరిన నేల కనబడాలి” అన్నాడు. అలాగే జరిగింది.
10 And God called, the dry-ground, land, but the gathering together of the waters, called he seas. And God saw that it was good.
౧౦దేవుడు ఆరిన నేలకు “భూమి” అని పేరు పెట్టాడు. కూర్చి ఉన్న జలాలకు “సముద్రాలు” అని పేరు పెట్టాడు. అది ఆయనకు మంచిదిగా అనిపించింది.
11 And God said—Let the land put-forth vegetation—herb yielding seed, fruit-tree, bearing fruit after its kind, whose seed is within it on the land. And it was so,
౧౧దేవుడు “వృక్ష జాలాన్ని, విత్తనాలుండే చెట్లను, భూమిపై తమ తమ జాతి ప్రకారం విత్తనాలు ఉండి ఫలం ఇచ్చే పండ్ల చెట్లను భూమి మొలిపించాలి” అన్నాడు. అలాగే జరిగింది.
12 And the land brought-forth vegetation—herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, whose seed is within it, after its kind, And God saw that it was good.
౧౨వృక్ష జాతిని, విత్తనాలుండే చెట్లను, భూమిమీద తమ తమ జాతుల ప్రకారం తమలో విత్తనాలు ఉండి ఫలం ఇచ్చే పండ్ల చెట్లను భూమి మొలిపించింది. అది ఆయనకు మంచిదిగా కనబడింది.
13 So it was evening—and it was morning, a third day.
౧౩రాత్రి అయింది, ఉదయం వచ్చింది-మూడవ రోజు.
14 And God said—Let there be luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to divide between the day and the night, —and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
౧౪దేవుడు “రాత్రి నుంచి పగలును వేరు చెయ్యడానికి ఆకాశ విశాలంలో జ్యోతులు ఉండాలి. కాలాలకు, రోజులకు, సంవత్సరాలకు అవి సూచనలుగా ఉండాలి.
15 yea let them be for luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth. And it was so.
౧౫భూమికి వెలుగు ఇవ్వడానికి ఆకాశ విశాలంలో జ్యోతులుగా అవి ఉండాలి” అన్నాడు. అలాగే జరిగింది.
16 And God made the two great luminaries, —the greater luminary to rule the day, and the lesser luminary to rule the night, also the stars.
౧౬దేవుడు రెండు గొప్ప జ్యోతులు చేశాడు. పగటిని ఏలడానికి పెద్ద జ్యోతిని, రాత్రిని పాలించడానికి చిన్న జ్యోతిని చేశాడు. ఆయన నక్షత్రాలను కూడా చేశాడు.
17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens, —to give light on the earth;
౧౭భూమికి వెలుగు ఇవ్వడానికీ,
18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
౧౮పగటినీ రాత్రినీ పాలించడానికీ, వెలుగునూ చీకటినీ వేరు చెయ్యడానికీ, దేవుడు ఆకాశ విశాలంలో వాటిని అమర్చాడు. అది ఆయనకు మంచిదిగా కనబడింది.
19 So it was evening—and it was morning, a fourth day.
౧౯రాత్రి అయింది. ఉదయం వచ్చింది-నాలుగో రోజు.
20 And God said—Let the waters swarm with an abundance of living soul, and, birds, shall fly over the earth, over the face of the expanse of the heavens.
౨౦దేవుడు “చలించే ప్రాణులు జలాల్లో కుప్పలు తెప్పలుగా నిండిపోవాలి. భూమిపై ఉన్న ఆకాశవిశాలంలో పక్షులు ఎగరాలి” అన్నాడు.
21 And God created the great sea-monsters, —and every living soul that moveth—[with] which the waters swarmed after their kind and every winged bird—after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
౨౧దేవుడు బ్రహ్మాండమైన జలచరాలనూ, చలించే ప్రాణులన్నిటినీ వాటి వాటి జాతుల ప్రకారం పుష్కలంగా జలాలను నింపి వేసేలా సృష్టించాడు. ఇంకా వాటి వాటి జాతి ప్రకారం రెక్కలున్న ప్రతి పక్షినీ సృష్టించాడు. అది ఆయనకు మంచిదిగా కనబడింది.
22 And God blessed them, saying, —Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let, the birds, multiply in the land.
౨౨దేవుడు “మీరు ఫలించి వృద్ధి పొందండి. సముద్ర జలాలను నింపండి. పక్షులు భూమి మీద విస్తరించాలి” అని వాటిని దీవించాడు.
23 So it was evening—and it was morning, a fifth day.
౨౩రాత్రి అయింది. ఉదయం వచ్చింది-ఐదో రోజు.
24 And God said—Let the land, bring forth, living soul, after its kind, tame-beast and creeping thing and wild-beast, of the land, after its kind. And it was so.
౨౪దేవుడు “వాటి వాటి జాతుల ప్రకారం ప్రాణం గలవాటిని, అంటే వాటి వాటి జాతి ప్రకారం పశువులను, పురుగులను, అడవి జంతువులను భూమి పుట్టించాలి” అన్నాడు. అలాగే జరిగింది.
25 And God made the wild-beast of the land after its kind, and the tame-beast after its kind, and every creeping thing of the ground, after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
౨౫దేవుడు, వాటి వాటి జాతుల ప్రకారం అడవి జంతువులనూ వాటి వాటి జాతుల ప్రకారం పశువులనూ, వాటి వాటి జాతుల ప్రకారం నేలమీద పాకే ప్రతి పురుగునూ చేశాడు. అది ఆయనకు మంచిదిగా కనబడింది.
26 And God said—Let us make man in our image after our likeness—and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the bird of the heavens and over the tame-beast—and over all the land, and over every creeping thing, that creepeth on the land.
౨౬దేవుడు ఇలా అన్నాడు. “మన స్వరూపంలో మన పోలికలో మనిషిని చేద్దాం. సముద్రంలో చేపల మీదా ఆకాశంలో పక్షుల మీదా పశువుల మీదా భూమి మీద పాకే ప్రతి జంతువు మీదా భూమి అంతటి మీదా వారికి ఆధిపత్యం ఉండాలి” అన్నాడు.
27 And God created the man in his own image, In the image of God, created he him, —Male and female, created he, them.
౨౭దేవుడు తన స్వరూపంలో మనిషిని సృష్టించాడు. దేవుని స్వరూపంలో అతణ్ణి సృష్టించాడు. పురుషుడిగా స్త్రీగా వాళ్ళను సృష్టించాడు.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, —and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the bird of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth on the land.
౨౮దేవుడు వాళ్ళను దీవించి “మీరు ఫలించి, సంఖ్యలో వృద్ధి చెందండి. భూమి అంతటా విస్తరించి, భూమిని నింపి దాన్ని స్వాధీనం చేసుకోండి. సముద్రంలో చేపలనూ ఆకాశంలో పక్షులనూ మీదా భూమి మీద పాకే ప్రతి ప్రాణినీ పరిపాలించండి” అని చెప్పాడు.
29 And God said—Lo! I have given to you—every herb yielding seed which is on the face of all the land, and every tree wherein is the fruit of a tree yielding seed, —to you, shall it be, for food;
౨౯దేవుడు ఇంకా ఇలా అన్నాడు. “చూడండి, భూమిమీద ఉన్న విత్తనాలిచ్చే ప్రతి చెట్టును, విత్తనాలున్న ఫలాలు ఇచ్చే ప్రతి చెట్టును మీకు ఇచ్చాను. అవి మీకు ఆహారం అవుతాయి.
30 and to every living thing of the land—and to every bird of the heavens, and to every thing that moveth on the land, wherein is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so.
౩౦భూమిమీద ఉండే జంతువులన్నిటికీ ఆకాశ పక్షులన్నిటికీ భూమి మీద పాకే జీవాలన్నిటికీ పచ్చని చెట్లన్నీ ఆహారం అవుతాయి” అన్నాడు. అలాగే జరిగింది.
31 And God saw every thing which he had made, and lo! it was very good. So it was evening—and it was morning, the sixth day.
౩౧దేవుడు తాను చేసిందంతా చూసినప్పుడు అది ఆయనకు ఎంతో మంచిదిగా కనబడింది. రాత్రి అయింది. ఉదయం వచ్చింది-ఆరవ రోజు.
