+ Genesis 1 >

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Ku lubereberye Katonda yatonda eggulu n’ensi.
2 Now, the earth, had become waste and wild, and darkness, was on the face of the roaring deep, —but, the Spirit of God, was brooding on the face of the waters,
Ensi yali njereere nga yeetabuddetabudde, ekizikiza nga kibisse kungulu ku buziba, n’Omwoyo wa Katonda ng’atambulira ku mazzi.
3 And God said—Light, be, And light was.
Awo Katonda n’agamba nti, “Wabeerewo obutangaavu,” ne waba obutangaavu.
4 And God saw the light, that it was, good, and God divided the light, from the, darkness;
Katonda n’alaba obutangaavu nga bulungi; n’ayawula obutangaavu n’ekizikiza.
5 and God called the light, day, but the darkness, called he, night. So it was evening—and it was morning, one day.
Katonda obutangaavu n’abuyita emisana, n’ekizikiza n’akiyita ekiro. Ne wabaawo akawungeezi ate ne buba enkya. Olwo lwe lunaku olw’olubereberye.
6 And God said, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it be a means of dividing, between waters and waters,
Era Katonda n’agamba nti, “Wabeewo ebbanga lyawule olufu n’amazzi.”
7 And God made the expanse, and it divided between the waters that were under the expanse and the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.
Bw’atyo Katonda n’akola ebbanga okwawula wansi n’amazzi agali waggulu. Ne kiba bwe kityo.
8 And God called the expanse, heavens. So it was evening—and it was morning, a, second day.
Katonda ebbanga n’aliyita eggulu. Ne buba akawungeezi, ate ne buba enkya, olwo lwe lunaku olwokubiri.
9 And God said—Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together, into one place, and let the dry—ground appear. And it was so.
Awo Katonda n’ayogera nti, “Amazzi agali wansi w’eggulu gakuŋŋaanire mu kifo kimu, wabeewo olukalu.” Ne kiba bwe kityo.
10 And God called, the dry-ground, land, but the gathering together of the waters, called he seas. And God saw that it was good.
Katonda olukalu n’aluyita ensi, amazzi agakuŋŋaanye go n’agayita ennyanja. Katonda n’alaba nga ky’akoze kirungi.
11 And God said—Let the land put-forth vegetation—herb yielding seed, fruit-tree, bearing fruit after its kind, whose seed is within it on the land. And it was so,
Awo Katonda n’agamba nti, “Ensi ereete ebimera: emiti egizaala ensigo mu ngeri yaagyo, emiti egy’ebibala ebibaamu ensigo mu ngeri yaagyo, gibeere ku nsi.” Ne kiba bwe kityo.
12 And the land brought-forth vegetation—herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, whose seed is within it, after its kind, And God saw that it was good.
Ensi n’ereeta ebimera: ebimera eby’ensigo ebya buli ngeri, n’emiti egy’ebibala ebya buli ngeri n’ebijja ku nsi. Katonda n’alaba nga ky’akoze kirungi.
13 So it was evening—and it was morning, a third day.
Ne buba akawungeezi ate ne buba enkya. Olwo lwe lunaku olwokusatu.
14 And God said—Let there be luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to divide between the day and the night, —and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
Awo Katonda n’agamba nti, “Wabeewo ebyaka mu bbanga ly’eggulu, okwawula emisana n’ekiro; bibeerenga obubonero okwawulanga ebiro, n’ennaku, n’emyaka.
15 yea let them be for luminaries in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth. And it was so.
Bibeere ebyaka ku ggulu, bireetere ensi obutangaavu.” Ne kiba bwe kityo.
16 And God made the two great luminaries, —the greater luminary to rule the day, and the lesser luminary to rule the night, also the stars.
Katonda n’akola ebyaka ebinene bibiri, ekyaka ekisinga obunene kifugenga emisana, n’ekitono kifugenga ekiro, n’akola n’emmunyeenye.
17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens, —to give light on the earth;
Awo Katonda n’abiteeka mu bbanga ly’eggulu byakenga ku nsi,
18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
enjuba efugenga emisana, omwezi gufugenga ekiro, era byawulenga obutangaavu n’ekizikiza. Katonda n’alaba ng’ekyo kirungi.
19 So it was evening—and it was morning, a fourth day.
Ne buba akawungeezi, ate ne buba enkya. Olwo lwe lunaku olwokuna.
20 And God said—Let the waters swarm with an abundance of living soul, and, birds, shall fly over the earth, over the face of the expanse of the heavens.
Katonda n’ayogera nti, “Amazzi galeete ebibinja by’ebiramu, n’ebinyonyi bibuukenga waggulu mu bbanga.”
21 And God created the great sea-monsters, —and every living soul that moveth—[with] which the waters swarmed after their kind and every winged bird—after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Bw’atyo Katonda n’akola ebitonde eby’omu nnyanja ebinene ennyo, na buli kiramu ekya buli ngeri eky’omu nnyanja, na buli kinyonyi ekibuuka. Katonda n’alaba nga ky’akoze kirungi.
22 And God blessed them, saying, —Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let, the birds, multiply in the land.
Bw’atyo Katonda n’abiwa omukisa n’agamba nti, “Muzaale mwale, mujjuze amazzi g’ennyanja, n’ebinyonyi byale ku nsi.”
23 So it was evening—and it was morning, a fifth day.
Ne buba akawungeezi, ate ne buba enkya; olwo lwe lunaku olwokutaano.
24 And God said—Let the land, bring forth, living soul, after its kind, tame-beast and creeping thing and wild-beast, of the land, after its kind. And it was so.
Katonda n’ayogera nti, “Ensi ereete ebiramu ebya buli ngeri: ente, n’ebyewalula, n’ensolo ez’omu nsiko eza buli ngeri.” Bwe kityo bwe kyali.
25 And God made the wild-beast of the land after its kind, and the tame-beast after its kind, and every creeping thing of the ground, after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Katonda n’atonda ensolo ez’oku nsi eza buli ngeri, n’ente eza buli ngeri, na buli ekyewalula ku ttaka ekya buli ngeri. Katonda n’alaba nga ky’akoze kirungi.
26 And God said—Let us make man in our image after our likeness—and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the bird of the heavens and over the tame-beast—and over all the land, and over every creeping thing, that creepeth on the land.
Awo Katonda n’agamba nti, “Tukole omuntu mu kifaananyi kyaffe mu ngeri yaffe. Bafugenga ebyennyanja eby’omu nnyanja, n’ebinyonyi eby’omu bbanga, n’ensolo zonna, n’ensi yonna, era bafugenga na buli ekyewalulira ku nsi kyonna.”
27 And God created the man in his own image, In the image of God, created he him, —Male and female, created he, them.
Bw’atyo Katonda n’atonda omuntu mu kifaananyi kye, mu kifaananyi kya Katonda mwe yamutondera; n’abatonda omusajja n’omukazi.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, —and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the bird of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth on the land.
Katonda n’abawa omukisa, n’abagamba nti, “Mwale mujjuze ensi, mugifugenga. Mufugenga ebyennyanja ebiri mu nnyanja, n’ebinyonyi eby’omu bbanga na buli kiramu ekitambula ku nsi.”
29 And God said—Lo! I have given to you—every herb yielding seed which is on the face of all the land, and every tree wherein is the fruit of a tree yielding seed, —to you, shall it be, for food;
Awo Katonda n’agamba nti, “Laba mbawadde buli kimera eky’ensigo ekiri ku nsi na buli muti ogw’ensigo mu kibala kyagwo. Munaabiryanga.
30 and to every living thing of the land—and to every bird of the heavens, and to every thing that moveth on the land, wherein is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so.
Mbawadde na buli nsolo ey’oku nsi, na buli kinyonyi eky’omu bbanga na buli ekyewalula, na buli ekissa omukka mbiwa buli kimera, okuba emmere yaabyo.” Bwe kityo bwe kyali.
31 And God saw every thing which he had made, and lo! it was very good. So it was evening—and it was morning, the sixth day.
Awo Katonda n’alaba byonna by’akoze nga birungi nnyo. Ne buba akawungeezi, ate ne buba enkya, olwo lwe lunaku olwomukaaga.
