Galatians 5
1 With her freedom, Christ hath made you, free. Stand fast, therefore, and do not, again, with a yoke of servitude, be held fast!
इसी स्वतंत्रता में बने रहने के लिए मसीह ने हमें स्वतंत्र किया है. इसलिये स्थिर रहो और दोबारा दासत्व के जूए में न जुतो.
2 See! I, Paul, say unto you—if ye be getting circumcised, Christ will profit you, nothing.
यह समझ लो! मैं, पौलॉस, तुम्हें बताना चाहता हूं कि यदि तुम ख़तना के पक्ष में निर्णय लेते हो तो तुम्हारे लिए मसीह की कोई उपयोगिता न रह जायेगी.
3 Yea, I bear solemn witness again, unto every man getting circumcised, —that he is, a debtor, to do, the whole law.
मैं ख़तना के हर एक समर्थक से दोबारा कहना चाहता हूं कि वह सारी व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिए मजबूर है.
4 Ye have been set aside from Christ, ye who, by law, are to be declared righteous, —out of his favour, ye have fallen;
तुम, जो धर्मी ठहराए जाने के लिए व्यवस्था पर निर्भर रहना चाहते हो, मसीह से अलग हो गए हो और अनुग्रह से तुम गिर चुके हो.
5 For, we, in Spirit, by faith, for a hope of righteousness, are ardently waiting, —
किंतु हम पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा विश्वास से धार्मिकता की आशा की बाट जोहते हैं.
6 For, in Christ [Jesus], neither, circumcision, availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith, through love, energising.
ख़तनित होना या न होना मसीह येशु में किसी महत्व का नहीं है; महत्व है सिर्फ विश्वास का जिसका प्रभाव दिखता है प्रेम में.
7 Ye were running well: —who hath hindered you, that, by truth, ye are not to be persuaded?
दौड़ में बहुत बढ़िया था तुम्हारा विकास. कौन बन गया तुम्हारे सच्चाई पर चलने में रुकावट?
8 The persuasion, [is] not of him that calleth you: —
यह उकसावा उनकी ओर से नहीं है, जिन्होंने तुम्हें बुलाया.
9 A little leaven, leaveneth, the whole lump.
“थोड़ा-सा खमीर सारे आटे को खमीर कर देता है.”
10 I, am persuaded regarding you, in the Lord—that, for nothing else, ye will have any regard; but, he that is troubling you, shall bear the sentence, —whosoever he may be.
प्रभु में मुझे तुम पर भरोसा है कि तुम किसी अन्य विचार को स्वीकार न करोगे. जो भी तुम्हें भरमाएगा व डांवा-डोल करेगा, वह दंड भोगेगा, चाहे वह कोई भी क्यों न हो.
11 I, however, brethren—if, circumcision, I yet proclaim, why am I yet persecuted? After all, the stumbling-block of the cross hath been set aside.
प्रिय भाई बहनो, यदि मैं अब तक ख़तना का प्रचार कर रहा हूं तो मुझ पर यह सताना क्यों? इस स्थिति में तो क्रूस के प्रति विरोध समाप्त हो गया होता.
12 Oh! that they would even leave off in dismay, who are unsettling you!
उत्तम तो यही होता कि वे, जो तुम्हें डांवा-डोल कर रहे हैं, स्वयं को नपुंसक बना लेते!
13 For, ye, on a footing of freedom, were called, brethren, —only, [turn] not your freedom into an occasion to the flesh, but, by means of your love, be serving one another;
प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुम्हारा बुलावा स्वतंत्रता के लिए किया गया है. अपनी स्वतंत्रता को अपनी शारीरिक इच्छाओं की पूर्ति का सुअवसर मत बनाओ परंतु प्रेमपूर्वक एक दूसरे की सेवा करो.
14 For, the whole law, in one word, is summed up—[namely] in this, —Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.
क्योंकि सारी व्यवस्था का सार सिर्फ एक वाक्य में छिपा हुआ है: “जैसे तुम स्वयं से प्रेम करते हो, वैसे ही अपने पड़ोसी से भी प्रेम करो.”
15 If, however, one another, ye bite and devour, take heed lest, by one another, ye be consumed!
यदि तुम एक दूसरे को हिंसक पशुओं की भांति काटते-फाड़ते रहे, तो सावधान! कहीं तुम्हीं एक दूसरे का नाश न कर बैठो.
16 I say, moreover—by Spirit, be walking, and, fleshly coveting, ye will in nowise fulfil;
मेरी सलाह यह है, तुम्हारा स्वभाव आत्मा से प्रेरित हो, तब तुम किसी भी प्रकार से शारीरिक लालसाओं की पूर्ति नहीं करोगे.
17 For, the flesh, coveted against the Spirit, but, the Spirit, against the flesh, —for, these, unto one another, are opposed, lest, whatsoever things ye chance to desire, these, ye should be doing!
शरीर आत्मा के विरुद्ध और आत्मा शरीर के विरुद्ध लालसा करता है. ये आपस में विरोधी हैं कि तुम वह न कर सको, जो तुम करना चाहते हो.
18 And, if, by Spirit, ye are being led, ye are not under law.
यदि तुम पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा चलाए चलते हो तो तुम व्यवस्था के अधीन नहीं हो.
19 Manifest, however, are the works of the flesh, which, indeed, are—fornication, impurity, wantonness,
शरीर द्वारा उत्पन्न काम स्पष्ट हैं: वेश्यागामी, अशुद्धता, भ्रष्टाचार,
20 idolatry, enchantment, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, factions, divisions, parties,
मूर्ति पूजा, जादू-टोना, शत्रुता, झगड़ा, जलन, क्रोध, स्वार्थ, मतभेद, विधर्म;
21 envyings, drunkenness, revellings; —and such things as these: as to which I forewarn you, even as I have forewarned you, —that, they who such things as these do practise, shall not inherit, God’s kingdom.
डाह, मतवालापन, लीला-क्रीड़ा तथा इनके समान अन्य, जिनके विषय में मैं तुम्हें चेतावनी दे रहा हूं कि जिनका स्वभाव इस प्रकार का है, वे मेरी पूर्व चेतावनी के अनुरूप परमेश्वर के राज्य के वारिस नहीं होंगे.
22 But, the fruit of the Spirit, is—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, graciousness, goodness, faithfulness,
परंतु आत्मा का फल है प्रेम, आनंद, शांति, धीरज, दया, उदारता, विश्वस्तता,
23 meekness, self-control; —against such things as these, there is no law.
विनम्रता तथा आत्मसंयम; कोई भी विधान इनके विरुद्ध नहीं है.
24 And, they who are of Christ Jesus, have crucified, the flesh, with its susceptibilities and covetings.
जो मसीह येशु के हैं, उन्होंने शरीर को उसकी वासनाओं और अभिलाषाओं सहित क्रूस पर चढ़ा दिया है.
25 If we live by Spirit, by Spirit, let us also walk.
अब, जबकि हमने पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा जीवन प्राप्त किया है, हमारा स्वभाव भी आत्मा से प्रेरित हो.
26 Let us not become vain-glorious, —one another, challenging, one another, envying.
न हम घमंडी बनें, न एक दूसरे को उकसाएं और न ही आपस में द्वेष रखें.
