Ezra 1
1 In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, to fulfil the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh aroused the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia, and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, moreover also in writing, saying:
ペルシャ王クロスの元年に、主はさきにエレミヤの口によって伝えられた主の言葉を成就するため、ペルシャ王クロスの心を感動されたので、王は全国に布告を発し、また詔書をもって告げて言った、
2 Thus, saith Cyrus, king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth, hath Yahweh God of the heavens, given to me, —and, he himself, hath laid charge upon me, to build for him a house, in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
「ペルシャ王クロスはこのように言う、天の神、主は地上の国々をことごとくわたしに下さって、主の宮をユダにあるエルサレムに建てることをわたしに命じられた。
3 Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, —and build the house of Yahweh God of Israel, (he, is God!) which is in Jerusalem;
あなたがたのうち、その民である者は皆その神の助けを得て、ユダにあるエルサレムに上って行き、イスラエルの神、主の宮を復興せよ。彼はエルサレムにいます神である。
4 And, whosoever is left, of all the places where he doth sojourn, let the men of his place uphold him, with silver and with gold, and with goods and with beasts, —along with a voluntary offering for the house of God, which is in Jerusalem.
すべて生き残って、どこに宿っている者でも、その所の人々は金、銀、貨財、家畜をもって助け、そのほかにまたエルサレムにある神の宮のために真心よりの供え物をささげよ」。
5 Then arose the ancestral chiefs of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, —even every one whose spirit God had aroused, to go up to build the house of Yahweh, which was in Jerusalem;
そこでユダとベニヤミンの氏族の長、祭司およびレビびとなど、すべて神にその心を感動された者は、エルサレムにある主の宮を復興するために上って行こうと立ち上がった。
6 and, all they who were round about them, strengthened their hands, with utensils of silver, with gold with goods and with beasts, and with precious things, —besides any thing he had volunteered.
その周囲の人々は皆、銀の器、金、貨財、家畜および宝物を与えて彼らを力づけ、そのほかにまた、もろもろの物を惜しげなくささげた。
7 And, King Cyrus, brought forth the utensils of the house of Yahweh, —which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth from Jerusalem, and put in the house of his gods: —
クロス王はまたネブカデネザルが、さきにエルサレムから携え出して自分の神の宮に納めた主の宮の器を取り出した。
8 yea Cyrus king of Persia brought them forth, by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, —and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, a leader of Judah.
すなわちペルシャ王クロスは倉づかさミテレダテの手によってこれを取り出して、ユダのつかさセシバザルに数え渡した。
9 And, these, were the numbers of them, —basins of gold, thirty, basins of silver, a thousand, knives, twenty-nine;
その数は次のとおりである。金のたらい一千、銀のたらい一千、香炉二十九、
10 bowls of gold, thirty, bowls of silver, of a secondary sort, four hundred and ten, —other utensils, a thousand.
金の鉢三十、銀の鉢二千四百十、その他の器一千、
11 All the utensils, in gold and silver, were five thousand and four hundred, —the whole, did Sheshbazzar bring up with the upbringing of the exile, out of Babylon unto Jerusalem.
金銀の器は合わせて五千四百六十九あったが、セシバザルは捕囚を連れてバビロンからエルサレムに上った時、これらのものをことごとく携えて上った。
