< Ezra 9 >

1 Now, when these things were ended, the rulers drew near unto me, saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not kept themselves separate from the peoples of the lands, —in view of their abominations-even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites;
Mgbe e mesịrị ihe ndị a, ndịisi bịakwutere m sị, “Ndị Izrel na ndị nchụaja, na ndị Livayị, ekewapụghị onwe ha site nʼetiti ndị agbataobi ha, na omume arụ ha niile, dịka nke ndị Kenan, na ndị Het; na ndị Periz, na ndị Jebus, na ndị Amọn, na ndị Moab, na ndị Ijipt, na ndị Amọrait.
2 for they have taken of their daughters, for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have intermingled themselves among the peoples of the lands, —and, the hand of the rulers and the deputies, hath, in this unfaithfulness, been, foremost.
Ha alụtarala onwe ha nwunye site nʼụmụ ndị inyom mba ọzọ ndị a, lụtakwara ụmụ ha ndị ikom. Ha agwakọtala mkpụrụ nsọ na ndị dị iche iche nọ ha gburugburu. Ọ bụ ndị ndu na ndịisi ọchịchị ha bụ ndị butere ụzọ nʼibi ndụ ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi a.”
3 When I heard this thing, I rent my garment, and my robe, —and tore out of the hair of my head and my beard, and sat stunned.
Ma mgbe m nụrụ nke a, adọwara m uwe ahụ m na uwe mwụda m, dọpụkwa ụfọdụ agịrị isi nke isi m, na ajị afụọnụ m, nọdụkwa ala nʼọnọdụ mgbagwoju anya.
4 Then, unto me, were gathered, all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel, concerning the unfaithfulness of them who had been exiled, —but, I, sat stunned, until the evening gift.
Mgbe ahụ, ndị niile mara jijiji nʼokwu Chineke nke Izrel, gbakọtara m gburugburu nʼihi ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi nke ndị ahụ e mere ka ha jee biri na mba ọzọ lọtaranụ. Mụ onwe m nọkwa nʼọnọdụ mgbagwoju anya ruo oge ịchụ aja nsure ọkụ nke anyasị.
5 And, at the evening gift, I arose from mine affliction, which had been accompanied by the rending of my garment and my robe, —and I bowed upon my knees, and spread forth my hands unto Yahweh my God;
Nʼikpeazụ, nʼoge aja uhuruchi, esitere m nʼiweda onwe m ala bilie, eji m uwe na uwe mwụda dọkara adọka daa nʼala nʼikpere m, chilie aka m abụọ elu, tikuo Onyenwe anyị Chineke m
6 and said, O my God, I turn pale and am ashamed, to lift up, O my God, my face unto thee, —for, our iniquities, have multiplied above the head, and our guilt hath magnified itself unto the heavens.
nʼekpere sị, “Ihere na-eme m, Chineke m, amaghị otu m ga-esi lelie anya m lekwasị gị nʼihu, nʼihi na mmehie anyị babigara ụba oke, ikpe ọmụma dị na-eche anyị dịkwa ukwuu, nʼezie o ruola eluigwe.
7 Since the days of our fathers, we, have been in great guilt, until this day, —and, for our iniquities, have we been given up—we, our kings, our priests, —into the hand of the kings of the lands, by sword and by captivity and by spoiling and by a turning pale of face, as at this day.
Site nʼụbọchị nna nna anyị ha ruo taa, ikpe ọmụma anyị adịla ukwuu. Nʼihi mmehie anyị, anyị na ndị eze anyị, na ndị nchụaja anyị ka enyefere nʼaka mma agha, na ndọta nʼagha, na ịpụnara anyị ihe nʼike na nweda nʼala nʼaka ndị eze ala mba ọzọ, dịka ọ dị taa.
8 And, now, for a very little moment, hath come favour from Yahweh our God, in leaving to us a remnant to escape, and in giving to us a nail in his holy place, —that our God may enlighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
“Ma ugbu a, na nwa oge nta a, gị bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị egosila anyị amara, mee ka ole na ole fọdụrụ anyị. O nyeela anyị ọnọdụ siri ike nʼime ebe nsọ ya. Chineke anyị na-enye anya anyị ìhè, mee ka anyị kurutu ume ndụ nʼoge a site nʼọnọdụ ịbụ ohu anyị.
9 For, bondmen, we are, but, in our bondage, hath our God not forsaken us, —but extended unto us lovingkindness before the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up on high the house of our God, to raise up the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
Nʼihi na ndị ohu ka anyị bụ, ma nʼihi obiọma na obi ebere gị, ị gbakụtaghị anyị azụ nʼọnọdụ ịbụ ohu anyị. Kama i mere ka ndị eze Peshịa gosi anyị obi ebere. Ọzọkwa, o nyekwala anyị ebe ize ndụ site na mwugharị nke mgbidi Juda na Jerusalem.
10 But, now, what can we say, O our God, after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
“Ugbu a, Chineke anyị, gịnịkwa ka anyị nwere ikwu banyere ihe ndị a niile mere? Lee na anyị ahapụla gị ọzọ, hapụkwa ịgbaso iwu gị,
11 which thou didst command by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying, As for the land which, ye, are entering to possess, an impure land, it is, with the impurity of the peoples of the lands, —with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to the other, with their uncleanness.
nke i ji dọọ anyị aka na ntị site nʼọnụ ndị amụma, bụ ndị ohu gị. Nʼihi na i si nʼọnụ ha kwuo sị, ‘Ala ahụ unu na-abanye inweta bụ ala nke ndị bi nʼime ya mere ka ọ rụọ arụ. Nʼihi na ndị bi nʼime ya esitela nʼomume ọjọọ ha mee ka akụkụ ala ahụ niile rụọ arụ.
12 Now, therefore, your daughters, do not ye give to their sons, and, their daughters, do not ye take for your sons, neither shall ye seek their prosperity nor their pleasure unto times age-abiding, —to the end ye may become strong, and may eat the good of the land, and may suffer your children to possess it, unto times age-abiding.
Ya mere, unu enyekwala ụmụ ha ndị ikom ụmụ unu ndị inyom ka ha lụrụ, maọbụ kwenye ka ụmụ unu ndị ikom lụọ ụmụ ha ndị inyom. Unu achọkwala udo nke ọdịmma ọbụla nʼetiti unu na ha nʼoge ọbụla, ka unu dị ike, rie ezi ihe nke ala ahụ, hapụkwara ya ụmụ unu dịka ihe nketa ha ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.’
13 And, after all that hath come upon us, for our wicked doings, and for our great guilt—For, thou, O our God, hast spared us, punishing us less than our iniquities deserved, and hast given us a deliverance such as this,
“Ma ihe niile dakwasịrị anyị bụ maka ajọ omume anyị, nʼihi ikpe ọmụma dị ukwuu anyị. Ma lee, Chineke anyị ataghị anyị ahụhụ dịka ịdị ukwuu nke mmehie anyị si dị, kama, o mekwara ka ole na ole nʼime anyị fọdụ.
14 should we again break thy commandments and join ourselves by affinity of marriage with the peoples of these abominations, —wouldst thou not be angry with us, unto a full end, that there should be neither remainder nor deliverance?
Ma anyị ọ ga-emebi iwu gị ọzọ, site nʼịlụ ndị a rụrụ arụ nʼomume ha? Ị gaghị eweso anyị iwe ruo na ị ga-ebibi anyị kpamkpam, na-afọdụghị otu onye?
15 O Yahweh, God of Israel, righteous thou art, for we have had left us a deliverance as at this day, —here we are, before thee, in our guilty deeds, for there is no standing before thee, because of this thing!
Ma gị, Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel, ị bụ onye ezi omume. Lee anyị ka anyị guzo nʼihu gị nʼọnọdụ ikpe ọmụma anyị, ọ bụ ezie na o nweghị onye ọbụla nʼime anyị kwesiri iguzo nʼihu gị nʼihi nke a.”
