Ezra 7
1 Now, after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra, —son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah;
૧આ બાબતો પછી, આર્તાહશાસ્તા રાજાના શાસન દરમિયાન સરાયાનો પુત્ર એઝરા, હિલ્કિયાના પુત્ર, અઝાર્યા,
2 son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub;
૨શાલ્લુમ, સાદોક, અહિટૂબ,
3 son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth;
૩અમાર્યા, અઝાર્યા, મરાયોથ,
4 son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki;
૪ઝરાહયા, ઉઝઝી, બુક્કી,
5 son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eliazar, son of Aaron the first priest; —
૫અબીશૂઆ, ફીનહાસ, એલાઝાર તથા મુખ્ય યાજક હારુન.
6 this Ezra, came up out of Babylon, he, being a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh God of Israel had given, —and the king gave him, according to the hand of Yahweh his God upon him, all his request.
૬એઝરા બાબિલથી ત્યાં આવ્યો. ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, યહોવાહે આપેલા મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં તે પ્રવીણ શાસ્ત્રી હતો. તેના પર યહોવાહની કૃપાદ્રષ્ટિ હતી તેથી રાજાએ તેની સર્વ અરજ મંજૂર રાખી.
7 So then there came up some of the sons of Israel, and some of the priests and the Levites and the singers and the doorkeepers and the Nethinim, unto Jerusalem, —in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
૭ઇઝરાયલી વંશજોમાંના કેટલાક યાજકો, લેવીઓ, ગાયકો, દ્વારપાળો તથા ભક્તિસ્થાનના, સેવકોની સાથે, આર્તાહશાસ્તા રાજાના શાસનના સાતમા વર્ષના પાંચમા માસમાં એઝરા યરૂશાલેમ ગયો.
8 And he entered Jerusalem, in the fifth month, —the same, was the seventh year of the king.
૮તે પોતાના ઈશ્વરની કૃપાથી પાંચમાં માસના પ્રથમ દિવસે યરુશાલેમ આવી પહોંચ્યો.
9 For, on the first of the first month, was a beginning made of coming up from Babylon, —and, on the first of the fifth month, entered he into Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
૯એઝરાએ પ્રથમ માસના પ્રથમ દિવસે બાબિલથી ઊપડવાનું નક્કી કર્યુ હતું, અને પાંચમાં માસના પ્રથમ દિવસે યરુશાલેમ આવી પહોંચ્યો. ઈશ્વરનો પ્રેમાળ હાથ તેના પર હતો.
10 For, Ezra, had settled his heart, to study the law of Yahweh, and to do [it], —and to teach in Israel, statute and regulation.
૧૦એઝરાએ પોતાનું મન યહોવાહના નિયમોનો અભ્યાસ કરવામાં, તેને પાળવામાં તથા વિધિઓ અને હુકમો શીખવવામાં લગાડ્યું.
11 Now, this, is a copy of the letter which King Artaxerxes gave, to Ezra the priest the scribe, —the scribe of the words of the commandments of Yahweh, and of his statutes, for Israel: —
૧૧એઝરા યાજક યહોવાહની આજ્ઞાઓનો તથા ઇઝરાયલીઓને આપેલા પ્રભુના વિધિઓનો શાસ્ત્રી હતો, તેને જે પત્ર આર્તાહશાસ્તા રાજાએ આપ્યો હતો તેની નકલ આ મુજબ છે;
12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, Unto Ezra the priest, scribe of the law of the God of the heavens—To despatch and so forth.
૧૨“સ્વર્ગના ઈશ્વરના નિયમશાસ્ત્રના શાસ્ત્રી એઝરા યાજકને રાજાધિરાજ આર્તાહશાસ્તા તરફથી કુશળતા આપવામાં આવી છે વળી;
13 From me, is issued an edict, that, every one in my kingdom, of the people of Israel, and of their priests and the Levites, who is minded of his own freewill to go to Jerusalem, with thee, let him go.
૧૩હું એવો હુકમ ફરમાવું છું કે મારા રાજ્યમાંના ઇઝરાયલી લોકોમાંના તેઓના યાજકો તથા લેવીઓ, જે કોઈ પોતાની રાજીખુશીથી યરુશાલેમ જવા ઇચ્છે, તેઓ તારી સાથે આવે.
14 Forasmuch as, from before the king and his seven counselors, thou art sent, to enquire concerning Judah and as to Jerusalem, —by the law of thy God which is in thy hand;
૧૪હું રાજા તથા મારા સાત સલાહકારો તને એ માટે મોકલીએ છીએ કે તારા હાથમાં ઈશ્વરનું જે નિયમશાસ્ત્ર તારી પાસે છે તે પ્રમાણે યહૂદિયામાં અને યરુશાલેમમાં તેના સંબંધી તું તપાસ કર.
15 and to carry the silver and gold which the king and his counselors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, who, in Jerusalem, hath his habitation;
૧૫અને યરુશાલેમમાં ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરનું જે નિવાસસ્થાન છે તેને માટે ચાંદી અને સોનું અર્પણને માટે લઈ જવું.
16 and all the silver and the gold, which thou shalt find, in all the province of Babylon, —with the freewill offering of the people and of the priests offered willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem,
૧૬તે ઉપરાંત બાબિલના સર્વ રાજ્યોમાંથી યરુશાલેમના ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાન માટે ચાંદી તથા સોનું ઐચ્છિકાર્પણો તરીકે યહૂદીઓએ અને તેઓના યાજકોએ લઈ જવાં.
17 therefore, with all diligence, shalt thou buy—with this silver—bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meal-offerings, and their drink-offerings, —and shalt offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem;
૧૭અને એ નાણાથી બળદો, ઘેટાં, હલવાન, ખાદ્યાર્પણ તથા પેયાર્પણ ખરીદીને યરુશાલેમમાં તમારા ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનની વેદી પર તેઓનું અર્પણ કરવામાં આવે.
18 and, whatsoever, unto thee and unto thy brethren, shall seem good, with the rest of the silver and the gold, to do, according to the pleasure of your God, shall ye do.
૧૮તેમાંથી જે સોનું, ચાંદી વધે તેનો ઉપયોગ તમારા ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે અને તને તથા તારા ભાઈઓને યોગ્ય લાગે તે રીતે કરવો.
19 And, the utensils which are freely given to thee for the service of the house of thy God, put thou back, before the God of Jerusalem.
૧૯જે પાત્રો તારા ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનની સેવા માટે તને આપવામાં આવ્યાં છે, તે તારે યરુશાલેમમાં ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ રજૂ કરવા.
20 And, the rest of the need of the house of thy God, which it shall fall to thee to give, thou shalt give, out of the treasure-house of the king.
૨૦અને જો તારા ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનને માટે અન્ય કોઈ જરૂરિયાત હોય તો તું રાજાના ભંડારમાંથી નાણાં મેળવીને ખરીદી કરી શકે છે.
21 And, from me myself, Artaxerxes the king, issueth an edict, to all the treasurers who are Beyond the River, —that, whatsoever Ezra the priest the scribe of the law of the God of the heavens shall ask of you, with diligence, shall it be done:
૨૧હું રાજા આર્તાહશાસ્તા ફ્રાત નદી પારના પ્રાંતના સર્વ ખજાનચીઓને હુકમ કરું છું કે, એઝરા યાજક જે આકાશના ઈશ્વરના નિયમશાસ્ત્રનો શાસ્ત્રી છે તે જે કંઈ માગે તે તમારે તાકીદે પૂરું પાડવું.
22 unto a hundred talents of silver, and unto a hundred measures of wheat, and unto a hundred baths of wine, and unto a hundred baths of oil, —and salt without limit.
૨૨ત્રણ હજાર ચારસો કિલો ચાંદી, દસ હજાર કિલો ઘઉં, બે હજાર લિટર દ્રાક્ષારસ અને બે હજાર લિટર તેલ અને જોઈએ તેટલું મીઠું પણ આપવું.
23 Whatsoever is due to an edict of the God of the heavens, let it be done diligently, for the house of the God of the heavens, —for wherefore should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
૨૩આકાશના ઈશ્વર પોતાના સભાસ્થાનને માટે જે કંઈ આજ્ઞા કરે તે બધું તમારે પૂરા હૃદયથી કરવું. મારા રાજ્ય પર અને મારા વંશજો શા માટે ઈશ્વરનો કોપ આવવા દેવો?
24 And, you, we do certify, that, as touching any of the priests or the Levites, the singers, the doorkeepers, the Nethinim, or the servitors of this house of God, tribute, excise or toll, shall it not be competent to impose upon them.
૨૪અને તને એ પણ જણાવવામાં આવે છે કે, કોઈ પણ વધારાની જકાત કે ખંડણી યાજકો, લેવીઓ, ગાયકો, દ્વારપાળો કે ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાનના સેવકો કે અન્ય સેવકો પાસેથી લેવી નહિ.
25 And, thou, Ezra, according to the wisdom of thy God that is in thy hand, appoint thou judges and magistrates, who shall administer justice to all the people that are Beyond the River, to all who know the law of thy God, —and, whoso knoweth not, ye shall teach.
૨૫વળી તને એઝરા, ઈશ્વરે જે જ્ઞાન આપ્યું છે તે વડે ન્યાયાધીશો અને અન્ય અધિકારીઓની પસંદગી કરજે અને ફ્રાત નદીની પશ્ચિમ તરફ વસતા જે લોકો તારા ઈશ્વરના નિયમો જાણે છે તેઓ પર વહીવટ ચલાવવા તેઓની નિમણૂક કરજે. જો તેઓ ઈશ્વરના નિયમશાસ્ત્રના જ્ઞાનથી અજાણ હોય તો તારે તેઓને શીખવવું.
26 But, whosoever shall not do the law of thy God and the law of the king, speedily, let, penalty, be exacted from him, —whether to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
૨૬વળી જે કોઈ ઈશ્વરના નિયમશાસ્ત્રનું તથા રાજાના કાયદાનું પાલન કરવાનો ઇનકાર કરે તેઓને તારે મૃત્યુદંડ, દેશનિકાલ, મિલકતની જપ્તી અથવા કેદની સજા કરવી.”
27 Blessed be Yahweh, God of our fathers, —who hath put the like of this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of Yahweh, which is in Jerusalem;
૨૭ત્યારે એઝરાએ કહ્યું, “અમારા પૂર્વજોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ હો! કારણ કે તેમણે રાજાના મનમાં એવી પ્રેરણા કરી કે યરુશાલેમમાં યહોવાહનું જે ભક્તિસ્થાન છે તેનો મહિમા વધારવો.
28 and, unto me, hath extended lovingkindness, before the king and his counselors, yea all the valiant captains of the king, —I, therefore have emboldened myself, according to the hand of Yahweh my God upon me, and gathered out of Israel, chief men, to go up with me.
૨૮અને તેમણે રાજા, તેના સલાહકારો અને સર્વ પરાક્રમી સરદારો દ્વારા મારા પર કૃપાદ્રષ્ટિ કરી છે. મારા ઈશ્વરનો હાથ મારા પર હતો તેથી હું બળવાન થયો, અને મેં ઇઝરાયલમાંથી મારી સાથે યરુશાલેમ જવા માટે આગેવાનોને એકત્ર કર્યા.”
