Ezra 6
1 Then, Darius the king, issued an edict, —and they made search in the house of the books, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
Als hierauf der König Darius anordnete, im Schatzhause, in welchem man auch die Urkunden in Babylon aufbewahrte, nachzusehen,
2 And there was found in Achmetha, in the fortress which is in the province of Media, a roll, —and, thus, was it written therein, as a record: —
fand man in Ahmetha, in der Königsstadt, die in der Landschaft Medien liegt, eine Schriftrolle, in der folgendes geschrieben stand:
3 In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king, issued an edict, as to the house of God in Jerusalem, Let the house be built, the place where they used to offer sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be reared, —the height thereof, sixty cubits, the breadth thereof, sixty cubits;
»Urkunde: Im ersten Regierungsjahre des Königs Kores erließ der König Kores den Befehl: ›Was das Gotteshaus in Jerusalem betrifft, so soll dieses Haus wieder aufgebaut werden als eine Stätte, wo man Schlachtopfer schlachtet und Feueropfer darbringt; seine Höhe soll sechzig Ellen, seine Breite auch sechzig Ellen betragen;
4 layers of large stones, three, and one layer of new timber, —and, as for the expenses, out of the house of the king, let them be given.
Schichten von Quadersteinen sollen drei vorhanden sein und eine Schicht von Holzbalken; die Kosten aber sollen aus der königlichen Kasse bestritten werden.
5 Moreover also, the utensils of the house of God, of gold and silver, which, Nebuchadnezzar, took forth out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, let them again be taken to the temple which is in Jerusalem every one to its place, and lay them up in the house of God.
Auch die goldenen und silbernen Geräte des Gotteshauses, die Nebukadnezar aus dem Tempel zu Jerusalem weggenommen und nach Babylon gebracht hat, sollen zurückgegeben werden, so daß jedes Stück wieder in den Tempel zu Jerusalem an seinen früheren Ort gelangt; und man soll sie in dem Gotteshause niederlegen!‹«
6 Now, therefore, Tattenai pasha Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates, the Apharsachites, who are Beyond the River, —be ye far from thence:
»Nun denn, Thathnai, Statthalter der Provinz jenseits des Euphrats, und du, Sethar-Bosnai, und eure Genossen, die Apharsachäer, die ihr jenseits des Euphrats wohnt, haltet euch fern von dort!
7 let alone the work of this house of God, —the pasha of Judah, and the elders of Judah, this house of God, shall build upon its place;
Laßt die Arbeiten an diesem Gotteshause ungestört fortgehen: der Statthalter von Judäa und die Ältesten der Juden mögen dieses Gotteshaus an seiner alten Stelle wieder aufbauen!
8 And, from me, is issued an edict, as to that which ye shall do, with these elders of Judah, for the building of this house of God, —That, of the resources of the king, even the tribute Beyond the River, forthwith, the expenses be given unto these men, for they must not be hindered.
Auch ist von mir eine Verfügung erlassen worden bezüglich der Leistungen, die ihr jenen Ältesten der Juden für den Bau dieses Gotteshauses zu gewähren habt, nämlich daß von den Steuererträgen des Königs aus der Provinz jenseits des Euphrats die Kosten jenen Männern genau erstattet werden, und zwar unverzüglich.
9 And, whatever may be the need—whether young bullocks or rams or lambs for ascending-sacrifices unto the God of the heavens, wheat, salt, wine or oil, according to the command of the priests who are in Jerusalem, —that it he given to them day by day, without fail;
Und was (sonst) erforderlich ist sowohl an jungen Stieren als auch an Widdern und Lämmern zu Brandopfern für den Gott des Himmels sowie an Weizen, Salz, Wein und Öl, das soll ihnen nach der Anforderung der Priester zu Jerusalem Tag für Tag unweigerlich geliefert werden,
10 that they may be offering sweet-smelling sacrifices unto the God of the heavens, —and be praying for the life of the king, and his sons.
damit sie dem Gott des Himmels lieblichen Opferduft darbringen und für das Leben des Königs und seiner Söhne beten.
11 And, from me, is issued an edict, that, any man who shall alter this message, let timber be torn out of his house, and being lifted up let him be fastened thereunto, —and his house, a dunghill, be made for this;
Weiter ist von mir verordnet worden, daß jedem, der an dieser Verfügung etwas ändern sollte, ein Pfosten aus seinem Hause herausgerissen und er selbst gepfählt daran aufgehängt und sein Haus wegen solchen Vergehens zu einem Schutthaufen gemacht werden soll.
12 and, the God who hath caused his Name to dwell there, destroy any king or people, who shall put forth their hand to alter to destroy this house of God, which is in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have issued an edict, forthwith, let it be done.
Der Gott aber, der seinen Namen dort dauernd wohnen läßt, möge jeden König und jedes Volk stürzen, die es unternehmen sollten, diese Verfügung zu übertreten, um dieses Gotteshaus in Jerusalem zu zerstören. Ich, Darius, habe den Befehl erlassen: er soll genau vollzogen werden!«
13 Then, Tattenai the pasha Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates, —according as Darius the king had sent, so, forthwith, they did.
Darauf verfuhren Thathnai, der Statthalter der Provinz Syrien, und Sethar-Bosnai nebst ihren Genossen genau nach dem Befehl, den der König Darius ihnen hatte zugehen lassen.
14 And, the elders of the Jews, went on building and prospering, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah son of Iddo, —they both built and finished, owing to the edict of the God of Israel, and owing to the edict of Cyrus and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
So konnten denn die Ältesten der Juden weiterbauen, und die Arbeit ging erfolgreich vonstatten gemäß der Weissagung der Propheten, nämlich Haggais und Sacharjas, des Sohnes Iddos, so daß sie den Bau zu Ende führten nach dem Befehl des Gottes Israels und nach dem Befehl des Kores und des Darius und des Königs Arthasastha von Persien.
15 And this house was finished, by the third day of the month Adar, —the which was the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
Sie stellten aber dieses Haus fertig bis zum dritten Tage des Monats Adar, und zwar war es das sechste Regierungsjahr des Königs Darius.
16 Then did the sons of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the Sons of the Exile, keep the dedication of this house of God, with joy;
Da feierten denn die Israeliten, die Priester, die Leviten und die übrigen aus der Gefangenschaft Zurückgekehrten die Einweihung dieses Gotteshauses mit einem Freudenfest
17 and offered, for the dedication of this house of God, bullocks, one hundred, rams, two hundred, lambs, four hundred, —and, he-goats, as a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
und opferten zur Einweihung dieses Gotteshauses hundert Stiere, zweihundert Widder, vierhundert Lämmer als Brandopfer und als Sündopfer für ganz Israel zwölf Ziegenböcke nach der Zahl der israelitischen Stämme.
18 And they set up the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, over the service of God, which was in Jerusalem, —as it is written, in the Book of Moses.
Sie setzten dann auch die Priester in ihr Amt ein nach ihren Abteilungen und die Leviten nach ihren Klassen für den Gottesdienst in Jerusalem, wie es im Buche Moses vorgeschrieben ist.
19 And the Sons of the Exile kept the passover, —on the fourteenth of the first month;
Hierauf begingen die aus der Gefangenschaft Zurückgekehrten das Passah am vierzehnten Tage des ersten Monats;
20 for the priests and the Levites, had purified themselves, as one man, all of them, were pure, —so they slaughtered the passover for all the Sons of the Exile, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.
denn die Priester und die Leviten hatten sich ohne Ausnahme gereinigt; sie waren allesamt rein und schlachteten das Passah für alle aus der Gefangenschaft Zurückgekehrten und für ihre Geschlechtsgenossen, die Priester, und für sich selbst.
21 Therefore the sons of Israel who had returned from the Exile and all who had separated themselves from the impurity of the nations of the land unto them, did eat, —to seek Yahweh, God of Israel;
Es aßen aber (das Passah) sowohl die Israeliten, die aus der Gefangenschaft zurückgekehrt waren, als auch alle, die sich von der Unreinheit der (heidnischen) Bevölkerung des Landes losgesagt und sich ihnen angeschlossen hatten, um den HERRN, den Gott Israels, zu verehren.
22 and kept the festival of unleavened cakes seven days, with joy, —for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria towards them, to strengthen their hands, in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
Dann begingen sie das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote sieben Tage lang mit Freuden; denn der HERR hatte sie Freude erleben lassen, indem er ihnen das Herz des Königs von Assyrien zugewandt hatte, so daß er ihre Arbeit beim Bau des Hauses Gottes, des Gottes Israels, kräftig unterstützte.
