Ezra 2

1 Now, these, are the sons of the province, who came up from among the captives of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon exiled to Babylon, —who came back unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his own city;

7 The sons of Elam, a thousand two hundred and fifty-four;

12 The sons of Azgad, a thousand two hundred and twenty-two;

13 The sons of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty-six;

20 The sons of Gibbar, ninety-five;

21 The sons of Bethlehem, a hundred and twenty-three;

22 The men of Netophah, fifty-six;

Amadoda eNetofa, amatshumi amahlanu lesithupha.

23 The men of Anathoth, a hundred and twenty-eight;

Amadoda eAnathothi, ikhulu lamatshumi amabili lesificaminwembili.

24 The sons of Azmaveth, forty-two;

Abantwana beAzimavethi, amatshumi amane lambili.

25 The sons of Kiriath-arim, Chephirah and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three;

Abantwana beKiriyatharimi, iKefira, leBherothi, amakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi amane lantathu.

26 The sons of Ramah and Geba, six hundred and twenty-one;

Abantwana beRama leGaba, amakhulu ayisithupha lamatshumi amabili lanye.

27 The men of Michmas, a hundred and twenty-two:

Amadoda eMikimasi, ikhulu lamatshumi amabili lambili.

28 The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred and twenty-three;

29 The sons of Nebo, fifty-two;

53 the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah;

abantwana bakoBarkosi, abantwana bakoSisera, abantwana bakoThama,

54 the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.

55 The Sons of the Servants of Solomon. The sons of Sotai, the sons of Hasso-phereth, the sons of Peruda;

56 the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel;

57 the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Ami.

58 All the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon, were three hundred and ninety-two.

59 And, these, were they who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, Immer; but they could not tell their ancestral house, nor their seed, whether, of Israel, they were:

61 And, of the sons of the priests, the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, —the sons of Barzillai, who took of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.

Lebantwaneni babapristi, abantwana bakoHabaya, abantwana bakoHakozi, abantwana bakoBarizilayi, owathatha umfazi emadodakazini kaBarizilayi umGileyadi, wasebizwa ngebizo lawo.

62 These, sought their writing wherein they were registered, but they were not found, —so they were desecrated out of the priesthood;

Laba badinga ukubhalwa kwabo oluhlwini lwababhaliweyo ngezizukulwana, kodwa kabatholakalanga; basebekhutshwa ebupristini njengabangcolileyo.

63 and the governor told them, that they must not eat of the most holy things, —until there should stand up a priest, with Lights and Perfections.

Umbusi wasesitsho kubo ukuthi bangadli okwezinto ezingcwelengcwele, kuze kusukume umpristi oleUrimi leThumimi.

64 All the gathered host together, was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty;

65 besides, their men-servants and their maid-servants who were these, seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven, —and there pertained to them, singing men and singing women, two hundred:

66 their horses, were seven hundred and thirty-six, —their mules, two hundred and forty-five;

67 their camels, four hundred and thirty-five, —asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 And, a portion of the ancestral chiefs, when they came to the house of Yahweh which was in Jerusalem, offered voluntarily for the house of God, to set it up on its basis.

Lenhlokweni zaboyise, ekufikeni kwabo endlini yeNkosi eseJerusalema, zanikelela indlu kaNkulunkulu ngesihle ukuyimisa endaweni yayo.

69 According to their ability, gave they unto the treasury of the work, of gold, sixty-one thousand drams, and, of silver, five thousand manehs, —and, tunics for priests, one hundred.

70 So the priests and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers and the doorkeepers and the Nethinim, took up their abode, in their cities, —and, all Israel, in their cities.
