Ezekiel 38
1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Son of man Set thy face against Gog of the land of the Magog, Prince of Rosh Meshech and Tubal, - And prophesy concerning him,
Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers Gog, du pays de Magog, prince de Rosh, de Meshech et de Tubal, et prophétise contre lui.
3 and thou shalt say, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — Behold me! against thee O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal;
Tu diras: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: Voici, j'en veux à toi, Gog, prince de Rosh, de Meshech et de Tubal.
4 Therefore I will turn thee about, and will put hooks in thy jaws, —and bring thee forth and all thine army. Horses and horsemen Clothed with gorgeous attire, all of them, A mighty gathered host With shield and buckler handling swords, all of them:
Je te tournerai, je mettrai des crochets dans tes mâchoires, et je te ferai sortir avec toute ton armée, chevaux et cavaliers, tous revêtus d'une armure complète, une grande troupe, avec bouclier et cuirasse, tous maniant l'épée;
5 Persia Ethiopia and Libya with them, All of them, with shield and helmet;
la Perse, Cush, et Put avec eux, tous avec bouclier et casque;
6 Gomer and all her hordes, The house of Togarmah the remote men of the North and all his hordes, Many peoples with thee.
Gomer et toutes ses hordes, la maison de Togarma, à l'extrémité du nord, et toutes ses hordes, beaucoup de peuples avec toi.
7 Be ready, and show thyself ready, Thou and all thy gathered host who have gathered themselves unto thee, — And become thou for me a guard.
"''Prépare-toi, oui, prépare-toi, toi et toutes tes troupes qui sont rassemblées auprès de toi, et sois un gardien pour elles.
8 After many days, shalt thou muster thy forces, In the afterpart of the years, shalt thou enter Into the land of the remnant brought back from the sword Gathered from among many peoples, Upon the mountains of Israel which have been waste continually, — But the same! from among the peoples, hath been brought forth, And they shall dwell in security, all of them.
Après bien des jours, vous serez visités. Dans la suite des temps, tu entreras dans le pays qu'on ramène de l'épée, qu'on recueille d'un grand nombre de peuples, sur les montagnes d'Israël, qui ont été un désert continuel; mais on le retire des peuples et ils habiteront en sécurité, tous.
9 Then shalt thou come up, Like a storm, shalt thou enter, Like a cloud covering the land, shalt thou be, — Thou and all thy hordes, and many peoples with thee.
Tu monteras. Tu viendras comme une tempête. Tu seras comme une nuée pour couvrir le pays, toi et toutes tes hordes, et de nombreux peuples avec toi. »
10 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, — So shall it be in that day, that thoughts will come up on thy heart.- And thou wilt devise a wicked device;
"'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « En ce jour-là, des choses te viendront à l'esprit et tu concevras un plan diabolique.
11 and wilt say— I will go up over a land of hamlets, I will enter among them who are at rest dwelling securely, — All of them, dwelling without a wall, Who bars and doors, have none;
Tu diras: « Je monterai dans le pays des villages sans murs. J'irai vers ceux qui sont au repos, qui habitent en sécurité, tous sans murs, sans barres ni portes,
12 To capture spoil. And take prey, - To bring back thy hand over desolate places at length inhabited And against a people gathered from among the nations, Getting herds and substance Dwelling upon the navel of the earth.
pour prendre le pillage et le butin; pour tourner ta main contre les ruines habitées, et contre le peuple rassemblé des nations, qui a du bétail et des biens, qui habite au milieu de la terre.''
13 Sheba and Dedan and the traders of Tarshish and all her young lions, will say to thee, To capture spoil, art thou coming? And to take prey, hast thou called together thy gathered host? To carry off silver and gold To take away herds and substance, To capture great spoil?
Saba, Dedan et les marchands de Tarsis, avec tous ses jeunes lions, te demanderont: « Es-tu venu pour prendre le butin? As-tu rassemblé ta troupe pour prendre le butin, pour emporter de l'argent et de l'or, pour emporter du bétail et des biens, pour faire un grand pillage? »
14 Therefore prophesy, Son of man, and thou shalt say to Gog. Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: Shall it not be in that day, because my people Israel are dwelling securely: , that thou wilt rouse thyself?
« C'est pourquoi, fils d'homme, prophétise et dis à Gog: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « En ce jour où mon peuple Israël habitera en sécurité, ne le sauras-tu pas?
15 Therefore wilt thou come out of thy place. Out of the remote parts of the North, Thou and many peoples with thee, —Riding on horses all of them, A mighty gathered host. Yea a great army;
Tu viendras de ton lieu de résidence, des extrémités du nord, toi et beaucoup de peuples avec toi, tous montés sur des chevaux, une grande troupe et une armée puissante.
16 Therefore wilt thou come up, against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land, — In the afterpart of the days, shall it be. that I will suffer thee to enter upon my land, To the end the nations may know me, when I hallow myself in thee before their eyes O Gog!
Tu monteras contre mon peuple d'Israël comme une nuée qui couvre le pays. C'est dans la suite des temps que je te ferai venir contre mon pays, afin que les nations me connaissent, quand je serai sanctifié en toi, Gog, sous leurs yeux. »
17 Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Art thou, he of whom I spake in days aforetime by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who kept on prophesying in those days for years, —That thou shouldest be suffered to come against them?
"'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Es-tu celui dont j'ai parlé autrefois par mes serviteurs les prophètes d'Israël, qui ont prophétisé en ces jours-là pendant des années que je te ferais venir contre eux?
18 So then shall it come to pass in that day, In the day when Gog entereth upon the soil of Israel, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, That mine indignation shall come up into my nostrils;
En ce jour-là, quand Gog viendra contre le pays d'Israël, dit le Seigneur Yahvé, ma colère montera dans mes narines.
19 Yea, in my jealousy, in the fire of mine outburst, have I spoken, - Surely in that day, shall there be a great trembling upon the soil of Israel:
Car j'ai parlé dans ma jalousie et dans le feu de ma colère. En ce jour-là, il y aura une grande secousse dans le pays d'Israël,
20 Then shall tremble before me The fishes of the sea, and The bird of the heavens and The wild beast of the field, and Every creeping thing that creepeth on the ground, and All the men who are on the face of the ground, — and The mountains, shall be torn asunder, and The steep places, shall sink down, and, Every wall, to the earth, shall be thrown.
en sorte que les poissons de la mer, les oiseaux du ciel, les animaux des champs, tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre et tous les hommes qui sont à la surface de la terre trembleront en ma présence. Alors les montagnes seront renversées, les lieux escarpés s'écrouleront, et toutes les murailles tomberont à terre.
21 Then will I call against him, every terror, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, the sword of every man against his brother, shall be;
J'appellerai l'épée contre lui sur toutes mes montagnes, dit le Seigneur Yahvé. « L'épée de chacun sera contre son frère.
22 Then will I contend with him by pestilence and by blood, - And an overflowing downpour and hail-stones fire and brimstone, will I rain Upon him, and Upon his hordes, and Upon the many peoples who are with him.
J'entrerai en jugement avec lui par la peste et par le sang. Je ferai pleuvoir sur lui, sur ses hordes et sur les nombreux peuples qui sont avec lui, des pluies torrentielles avec de grosses grêles, du feu et du soufre.
23 So will I Magnify myself and Hallow myself, and Make myself known. Before the eyes of many nations, —And they shall know that I, am Yahweh.
Je me glorifierai et me sanctifierai, et je me ferai connaître aux yeux de nombreuses nations. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. »''
