Ezekiel 35

1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,

Och Herrans ord skedde till mig, och sade;

2 Son of man Set thy face against Mount Seir, —and prophesy against it;

Du menniskobarn, ställ ditt ansigte emot Seirs berg, och prophetera deremot;

3 and thou shalt say to it Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee Mount Seir, —Therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, And I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment:

Och säg till det: Detta säger Herren Herren: Si, jag vill till dig, du Seirs berg, och utsträcka mina hand emot dig, och göra dig slätt öde.

4 Thy cities, will I lay waste, And thou—a desolation, shalt become, So shalt thou know that I, am Yahweh.

Jag skall förlägga dina städer, att du skall varda till ett öde, och förnimma att jag är Herren;

5 Because thou hast had an age-abiding enmity, And hast delivered up the sons of Israel unto the hands of the sword, - In the time of their misfortune, In the time of the final punishment for iniquity,

Derföre, att I ju alltid ären Israels barnas fiender, och jagen dem uti svärd, då dem missgår, och deras synder straffade varda.

6 Therefore, as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely regarding blood, will I deal with thee, Blood therefore, shall pursue thee, -Since blood thou hast not hated, Therefore blood, shall pursue thee,

Derföre, så sant som jag lefver, säger Herren Herren, vill jag ock göra dig blödande, och skall det blödandet icke undslippa; efter du hafver lust till blod, skall du blödandet icke undslippa.

7 So then I will deliver up Mount Seir to desolation after desolation, - And will cut off therefrom him that passeth by and him that returneth,

Och jag skall göra Seirs berg tomt och öde, så att ingen skall deruppå vandra eller gå;

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain, — As for thy hills and thy hollows and all thy channels, they who are thrust through by the sword shall fall therein:

Och skall göra dess berg och alla högar, dalar och alla bäcker, fulla med döda, som med svärd skola slagne varda.

9 Desolations age-abiding, will I make thee, And thy cities, shall not be inhabited, - So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.

Ja, till ett evigt öde vill jag göra dig, att ingen uti dina städer bo skall, och I skolen förnimma, att jag är Herren.

10 Because thou hast said, the two nations, and the two lands, mine, shall become, that we may possess it Whereas Yahweh, had been there,

Och derföre, att du säger: Dessa båda folken, med deras land, måste varda min, och vi vilje taga dem in, bodde än Herren deruti;

11 Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, I will even deal according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, wherewith thou hast dealt, out of thy hatred with them, - So will I make myself known among them as soon as I shall judge thee

Derföre, så sant som jag lefver, säger Herren Herren, skall jag göra med dig efter dine vrede och hat, lika som du med dem gjort hafver af blott hat, och skall varda känd när dem, när jag dig straffat hafver.

12 And thou shalt know that, I Yahweh, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel saying, They have become desolate, — To us, have they been given for food;

Och du skall förnimma, att jag, Herren, all din försmädelse hört hafver, som du emot Israels berg talat hafver, och sagt: Huj, de äro förödde, och oss gifne till att förderfva;

13 And so ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, And have caused to abound against me your words, —I, have heard!

Och hafven berömt eder emot mig, och talat högmodeliga emot mig; det hafver jag hört.

14 Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — When all the earth is rejoicing, a desolation, will I make thee:

Så säger nu Herren Herren: Efter du hafver allestäds fröjdat dig i ditt land, så skall jag göra dig till ett öde.

15 As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it had become a desolation, so, will, I, do unto thee, — A desolation, shalt thou become, O Mount Seir And all Edom all of it, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.

Och lika som du hafver fröjdat dig, och ment att du skulle intaga Israels hus, derföre att det öde var, rätt så vill jag göra med dig, att Seirs berg måste öde varda, samt med hela Edom; och de skola förnimma, att jag är Herren.
