Ezekiel 35

1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,

پیغام دیگری از جانب خداوند به من رسید: «ای پسر انسان، رو به کوه سعیر بایست و بر ضد ساکنانش پیشگویی کن و بگو:

2 Son of man Set thy face against Mount Seir, —and prophesy against it;

3 and thou shalt say to it Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee Mount Seir, —Therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, And I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment:

«خداوند یهوه می‌فرماید: ای ادومی‌ها، من بر ضد شما هستم و سرزمین شما را به کلی ویران و متروک خواهم کرد.

4 Thy cities, will I lay waste, And thou—a desolation, shalt become, So shalt thou know that I, am Yahweh.

شهرهایتان را خراب و ویران خواهم نمود تا بدانید که من یهوه هستم.

5 Because thou hast had an age-abiding enmity, And hast delivered up the sons of Israel unto the hands of the sword, - In the time of their misfortune, In the time of the final punishment for iniquity,

شما دائم با اسرائیل دشمنی کرده‌اید. وقتی بنی‌اسرائیل در مصیبت بودند و به سبب گناهانشان مجازات می‌شدند، شما هم در کشتار آنها شریک گشتید.

6 Therefore, as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely regarding blood, will I deal with thee, Blood therefore, shall pursue thee, -Since blood thou hast not hated, Therefore blood, shall pursue thee,

به حیات خود قسم، حال که از خونریزی لذت می‌برید، من هم خون شما را می‌ریزم.

7 So then I will deliver up Mount Seir to desolation after desolation, - And will cut off therefrom him that passeth by and him that returneth,

کوه سِعیر را ویران و متروک می‌کنم و تمام کسانی را که از آن عبور کنند از بین می‌برم.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain, — As for thy hills and thy hollows and all thy channels, they who are thrust through by the sword shall fall therein:

کوهها، تپه‌ها، دره‌ها و رودخانه‌هایتان را از اجساد کشته‌شدگان با شمشیر پر می‌سازم.

9 Desolations age-abiding, will I make thee, And thy cities, shall not be inhabited, - So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.

سرزمین شما را برای همیشه ویران می‌کنم و شهرهایتان دیگر هرگز آباد نخواهند شد تا بدانید که من یهوه هستم.

10 Because thou hast said, the two nations, and the two lands, mine, shall become, that we may possess it Whereas Yahweh, had been there,

«با اینکه من در سرزمین اسرائیل و یهودا حضور دارم، ولی شما گفته‌اید این دو قوم مال ما هستند و ما سرزمین آنها را به تصرف خود درمی‌آوریم.

11 Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, I will even deal according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, wherewith thou hast dealt, out of thy hatred with them, - So will I make myself known among them as soon as I shall judge thee

پس، به حیات خود قسم، خشم و حسد و کینه‌ای را که نسبت به قوم من داشتید تلافی خواهم کرد. هنگامی که شما را مجازات کنم، بنی‌اسرائیل خواهند دانست که به سبب آنچه که بر سر ایشان آورده‌اید شما را مجازات کرده‌ام.

12 And thou shalt know that, I Yahweh, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel saying, They have become desolate, — To us, have they been given for food;

شما نیز خواهید دانست که من سخنان کفرآمیز شما را شنیده‌ام که گفته‌اید سرزمین قوم اسرائیل خراب شده و ما آنها را خواهیم بلعید.

13 And so ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, And have caused to abound against me your words, —I, have heard!

شما بر ضد من سخنان تکبرآمیز بسیار گفته‌اید و من همهٔ آنها را شنیده‌ام!»

14 Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — When all the earth is rejoicing, a desolation, will I make thee:

خداوند یهوه به اهالی سِعیر می‌فرماید: «وقتی سرزمین شما را ویران کنم، تمام مردم جهان شادی خواهند کرد.

15 As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it had become a desolation, so, will, I, do unto thee, — A desolation, shalt thou become, O Mount Seir And all Edom all of it, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.

هنگامی که سرزمین من اسرائیل ویران شد شما خوشحال شدید و اکنون من برای ویران شدن سرزمین شما شادی می‌کنم! ای کوه سِعیر، ای سرزمین ادوم، شما به کلی ویران خواهید شد. آنگاه همه خواهید دانست که من یهوه هستم!»
