Ezekiel 30

1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée en ces termes:

2 Son of man Prophesy. and thou shalt say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, — Howl ye. Alas for the day!

"Fils de l’homme, prophétise et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Lamentez-vous! Hélas, quel jour!

3 For near, is a day, Yea near, is a day pertaining to Yahweh, A day of cloud, A time of nations, shall it be!

Car un jour est proche, oui, un jour est proche, fixé par l’Eternel, un jour de nuée: ce sera l’heure des nations.

4 Then shall come a sword into Egypt, And there shall be a pang in Ethiopia When the deadly wounded one falleth in Egypt, - And they take away her multitude, and, her foundations, are broken down.

Le glaive s’abattra sur l’Egypte; il y aura de l’épouvante en Ethiopie, quand tomberont les victimes en Egypte. On prendra ses richesses, ses fondements seront renversés.

5 Ethiopia and Libya and Lydia, and all the mixed multitude and Cub, and the sons of the land of the covenant with them—by the sword, shall they fall.

L’Ethiopie, Pout et Loud, tout l’Occident, et Koub avec les fils du pays de l’Alliance tomberont sous le glaive.

6 Thus saith Yahweh, Then shall fall the supporters of Egypt, Then shall come down the pride of her strength, —From Migdol to Seweneh, by the sword shall they fall therein, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

Ainsi parle l’Eternel: "Les appuis de l’Egypte s’écrouleront, et sa fière puissance sera abaissée. De Migdol à Syène, ils y tomberont sous le glaive, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

7 So shall they be made desolate in the midst of lands that are desolate, - And: his cities—in the midst of cities that are laid waste, shall be found.

Ils seront dévastés entre les pays dévastés, et ses villes seront au nombre des villes ruinées.

8 So shall they know that, I am Yahweh, - By my setting a fire in Egypt, When all her helpers shall be broken.

Et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel, lorsque je mettrai le feu à l’Egypte et que tous ses auxiliaires seront brisés.

9 In that day, shall messengers go forth from before me making haste, to cause dread unto Ethiopia so confident, - And a pang shall be upon them in the day of Egypt, For lo! it cometh.

Ce jour-là, des messagers partiront au-devant de moi dans des navires, pour troubler l’Ethiopie dans sa quiétude, et il y aura une terreur parmi eux au jour de l’Egypte, car le voici venir!"

10 Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — Therefore will I cause to cease the multitude of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon:

Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: "J’Abolirai la richesse de l’Egypte par la main de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone.

11 He, and his people with him the terrible ones of the nations are about to be brought in to destroy the land, - Therefore shall they unsheathe their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain;

Lui et son peuple avec lui, les plus violents des peuples, seront amenés pour détruire le pays; ils tireront leurs glaives contre l’Egypte et rempliront le pays de cadavres.

12 And I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of wicked one.—and make the land desolate with the fulness thereof, by the hand of foreigners, I, Yahweh! have spoken.

Je mettrai les cours d’eau à sec et je livrerai le pays à la merci de barbares; je dévasterai le pays avec ce qu’il renferme par la main d’étrangers, c’est moi, l’Eternel, qui le dis."

13 Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Therefore will I destroy the manufactured gods and Cause to cease the worthless goals, out of Noph, And prince out of the land of Egypt, shall none arise any more, - And I will cause fear in the land of Egypt.

Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: "J’Anéantirai les idoles, je ferai disparaître les faux dieux de Nof et le prince du pays d’Egypte: il n’y en aura plus. Je répandrai la terreur dans le pays d’Egypte.

14 Then will I bring desolation upon Pathros, and Set a fire in Zoan, and Execute judgments upon No: and

Je ruinerai Pathros, je mettrai le feu à Çoân et j’infligerai des châtiments à Nô.

15 Pour out mine indignation upon Sin the stronghold of Egypt, and Will cut off the multitude of No.

Je déverserai ma colère sur Sîn, forteresse de l’Egypte, et j’extirperai le peuple de Nô.

16 So will I set a fire in Egypt, Sore anguish shall take Sin. And, No, shall be for rending asunder, And Noph, be in straits every day,

Je mettrai le feu à l’Egypte, Sin sera saisie de tremblement, Nô est pour être prise d’assaut, Nof sera livrée aux ennemis en plein jour.

17 The young men of Aven and Pi-beseth, by the sword, shall fall; And lo! into captivity, shall they themselves wend their way.

Les jeunes gens d’Avên et de Pibécet tomberont sous le glaive, et elles-mêmes Won; en captivité.

18 And in Tehaphnehes, hath the day become dark, Because I have broken, there the yoke-bars of Egypt, And there shall be made to cease therein the pride of her strength, — She, a cloud, shall cover her! And her daughters into captivity, shall wend their way.

Et dans Tehafnehès, le jour sera ténébreux, quand j’y briserai les appuis de l’Egypte et que sera aboli en elle l’orgueil de sa puissance, une nuée la couvrira et ses filles iront en captivité.

19 Thus will I execute judgments on Egypt; And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.

Et j’exercerai des sévices sur l’Egypte, et ils sauront que c’est moi l’Eternel."

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year in the first month on the seventh of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

II advint, la onzième année, le sept du premier mois, que la parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée en ces termes:

21 Son of man, The arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, have I broken, - And lo! it hath not been bound up-To apply healing remedies To put on a bandage for binding it up. To make it strong to grasp the sword.

"Fils de l’homme, j’ai brisé le bras de Pharaon, roi d’Egypte; or, on ne l’a point pansé en y appliquant des médicaments, en y posant un bandage comme pansement, afin qu’il reprenne des forces pour tenir une épée.

22 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh-Behold me! against Pharaoh king of Egypt, Therefore will I break his arms, That which is strong, and That which is broken, - So will I cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

C’Est pourquoi, ainsi parle l’Eternel Dieu, je m’en prends à Pharaon, roi d’Egypte; je briserai ses bras, et celui qui est valide et celui qui est fracturé, et je lui ferai tomber l’épée de la main.

23 And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations, — And scatter them throughout the lands;

Je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les peuples, je les disséminerai dans les pays.

24 And will uphold the arms of the king of Babylon, And put my sword into his hand, - And will break the arms of Pharaoh, And he shall utter the groans of one thrust through, before him.

Mais j’affermirai les bras du roi de Babylone et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main, tandis que je briserai les bras de Pharaon, de telle sorte qu’il râlera devant lui du râle de l’homme frappé à mort.

25 Yea I will uphold the arms of the king of Babylon, But the arms of Pharaoh shall fall, And they shall know that I am Yahweh By my putting my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, And he shall stretch it out against the land of Egypt.

Oui, je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone alors que les bras de Pharaon tomberont, et on saura que c’est moi l’Eternel, quand je mettrai mon glaive dans la main du roi de Babylone, et qu’il le brandira contre le pays d’Egypte.

26 So will I disperse the Egyptians among the nations, And scatter them throughout the lands, And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.

Et je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, je les disséminerai dans les pays, et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel."
