Ezekiel 3
1 Then said he unto me, Son of man What thou findest, eat, —eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
Puis il me dit: fils d'homme, mange ce que tu trouveras, mange ce rouleau, et t'en va, [et] parle à la maison d'Israël.
2 So I opened my mouth, —and he caused me to eat this roll.
J'ouvris donc ma bouche, et il me fit manger ce rouleau.
3 Then said he unto me Son of man. Thy belly, cause thou to eat and thy bowels, fill thou with this roll which I am giving unto thee. So I did eat, and it became in my mouth, as honey for sweetness.
Et il me dit: fils d'homme, repais ton ventre, et remplis tes entrailles de ce rouleau que je te donne; et je le mangeai, et il fut doux dans ma bouche comme du miel.
4 Then said he unto me, — Son of man Go get thee unto the house of Israel, and thou shalt speak with my words, unto them.
Puis il me dit: fils d'homme, lève-toi et va vers la maison d'Israël, et leur prononce mes paroles.
5 For not unto a people deep of lip and heavy of tongue, art thou sent —[but] unto the house of Israel:
[Car] tu n'es point envoyé vers un peuple de langage inconnu, ou de langue barbare; c'est vers la maison d'Israël;
6 not unto many peoples deep of lip and heavy of tongue, whose words thou couldst not understand, —surely if unto them I had sent thee, they would have hearkened unto thee.
Ni vers plusieurs peuples de langage inconnu, ou de langue barbare, dont tu ne puisses pas entendre les paroles; si je t'eusse envoyé vers eux, ne t'écouteraient-ils pas?
7 But the house of Israel will not be willing to hearken unto thee, for they are not willing to hearken unto me, —for all the house of Israel are bold of forehead and hard of heart.
Mais la maison d'Israël ne te voudra pas écouter, parce qu'ils ne me veulent point écouter; car toute la maison d'Israël est effrontée, et d'un cœur obstiné.
8 Lo! I have made thy face bold like as their faces, and thy forehead bold like as their forehead.
Voici, j'ai renforcé ta face contre leurs faces, et j'ai renforcé ton front contre leurs fronts.
9 As an adamant harder than flint, have I made thy forehead, —thou shalt not fear them neither shalt thou be dismayed at their faces, For a perverse house, they are!
Et j'ai rendu ton front semblable à un diamant, [et] plus fort qu'un caillou; ne les crains donc point, et ne t'effraie point à cause d'eux, quoiqu'ils soient une maison rebelle.
10 Then said he unto me, — Son of man. All my words which I shall speak unto thee, receive thou into thy heart and in thine ears, hear thou:
Puis il me dit: fils d'homme, reçois dans ton cœur, et écoute de tes oreilles toutes les paroles que je te dirai.
11 then go get thee unto them of the captivity, unto the sons of thy people, and thou shalt speak unto them and say unto them, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear.
Lève-toi donc, va vers ceux qui ont été emmenés captifs, va vers les enfants de ton peuple, parle-leur, et leur dis que le Seigneur l'Eternel a ainsi parlé, soit qu'ils écoutent, ou qu'ils n'en fassent rien.
12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing, — Blessed be the glory of Yahweh. From his place!
Puis l'Esprit m'éleva, et j'ouïs après moi une voix [qui me causa] une grande émotion, [disant]: Bénie soit de son lieu la gloire de l'Eternel.
13 Yea the sound of the wings of the living ones, gently touching each other, and the sound of the wheels, along with them, even the sound of a great rushing.
Et j'ouïs le bruit des ailes des animaux, qui s'entre-touchaient les unes les autres, et le bruit des roues vis-à-vis d'eux, [j'ouïs], dis-je, une voix qui me causa une grande émotion.
14 So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away, —and I went bitterly, in the rage of my spirit, but the hand of Yahweh upon me was strong.
L'Esprit donc m'éleva, et me ravit, et je m'en allai l'esprit rempli d'amertume et de colère mais la main de l'Eternel me fortifia.
15 Thus came I unto them of the captivity, at Tel-abib. who were dwelling towards he river Chebar and I dwelt where They were dwelling; yea I dwelt there seven days, stunned in their midst,
Je vins donc vers ceux qui avaient été transportés à Télabib, vers ceux qui demeuraient auprès du fleuve de Kébar; et je me tins là où ils se tenaient, même je me tins là parmi eux sept jours, tout étonné.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying
Et au bout de sept jours, la parole de l'Eternel me fut [adressée], en disant:
17 Son of man, A watchman, have I appointed thee to the house of Israel, —and thou shalt hear, at my mouth a message, and shalt warn them from me.
Fils d'homme, je t'ai établi pour surveillant à la maison d'Israël; tu écouteras donc la parole de ma bouche, et tu les avertiras de ma part.
18 When I say to the lawless man— Thou shalt surely die, and thou hast not given him warning, neither hast spoken to warn the lawless man from his lawless way, to save himself alive the same lawless man in his iniquity shall die, but his blood, at thy hand, will I require.
Quand j'aurai dit au méchant: tu mourras de mort, et que tu ne l'auras point averti, et que tu ne lui auras point parlé pour l'avertir de se garder de son méchant train, afin de lui sauver la vie; ce méchant-là mourra dans son iniquité, mais je redemanderai son sang de ta main.
19 Whereas when thou hast warned a lawless man, and he hath not turned from his lawlessness and from his lawless way he in his iniquity shall die, but Thou hast delivered thine own soul.
Que si tu as averti le méchant, et qu'il ne se soit point détourné de sa méchanceté, ni de son méchant train; il mourra dans son iniquité, mais tu auras délivré ton âme.
20 And when a righteous man hath turned from his righteousness, and committed perversity, and I have suffered a stumbling- block to be laid before him he shall die, —though thou hast not warned him, in his sin, shall he die, neither shall be remembered his righteous deeds which he hath done, but his blood, at thy hand will I require;
Pareillement si le juste se détourne de sa justice, et commet l'iniquité, lorsque j'aurai mis quelque obstacle devant lui, il mourra, parce que tu ne l'auras point averti; il mourra dans son péché, et il ne sera point fait mention de ses justices qu'il aura faites; mais je redemanderai son sang de ta main.
21 whereas when Thou hast warned a righteous man. That a righteous man must not sin and he hath not sinned, he shall surely live in that he took warning, and thou hast delivered thine own soul.
Que si tu avertis le juste de ne pécher point, et que lui aussi ne pèche point, il vivra certainement, parce qu'il aura été averti, et toi pareillement tu auras délivré ton âme.
22 Then came upon me there the hand of Yahweh, —and he said unto me, Arise go forth into the valley, and there, will I speak with thee.
Et la main de l'Eternel fut là sur moi, et il me dit: lève-toi, et sors vers la campagne, et là je te parlerai.
23 So I arose and went forth into the valley, and lo! there the glory of Yahweh, standing, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar, -and I fell upon my face.
Je me levai donc, et sortis vers la campagne; et voici, la gloire de l'Eternel se tenait là, telle que la gloire que j'avais vue auprès du fleuve de Kébar, et je tombai sur ma face.
24 Then the Spirit entered into me, and caused me to stand upon my feet, —and he spake with me and said unto me, Go in shut thyself up, in the midst of thine own house,
Alors l'Esprit entra dans moi, et me releva sur mes pieds, et il me parla, et [me] dit: entre, et t'enferme dans ta maison.
25 And thou—O son of man, lo! they have put upon thee bands, and they will bind thee therewith, -. so that thou go not forth in their midst;
Car quant à toi, fils d'homme, voici, on mettra des cordes sur toi, et on t'en liera, et tu ne sortiras point pour aller parmi eux.
26 thy tongue also, will I cause to cleave unto the roof of thy mouth, so shalt thou be dumb and not be to them a reprover, — For a perverse house, they are!
Et je ferai tenir ta langue à ton palais, tu seras muet, et tu ne les reprendras point; parce qu'ils sont une maison rebelle.
27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them. Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, —He that is minded to hear, let him hear, And he that is minded to forbear, let him forbear! For a perverse house, they are!
Mais quand je te parlerai, j'ouvrirai ta bouche, et tu leur diras: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: que celui qui écoute, écoute; et que celui qui n'écoute pas, n'écoute pas; car ils [sont] une maison rebelle.
