Ezekiel 29

1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth of the month, came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:

I det tiande året, den tolvte dagen i tiande månaden, kom Herrens ord til meg; han sagde:

2 Son of man, Set thy face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, And prophesy against him, and against Egypt all of it:

Menneskjeson! Vend di åsyn mot Farao, kongen i Egyptarland, og spå mot honom og imot alt Egyptarland!

3 Speak, and thou shalt say— Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh Behold me! against thee O Pharaoh king of Egypt, The great Crocodile that lieth along in the midst of his rivers: Who saith— My river is, mine own, Since I myself made it me!

Tala og seg: So segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg skal finna deg, Farao, egyptarkonge, du, den store draken som ligg midt uti elvarne sine, og som segjer: «Eg eig mi elv, og sjølv hev eg gjort henne.»

4 Therefore will I put hooks in thy jaws, And cause the fish of thy rivers to stick fast in thy scales, - And will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, And, all the fish of thy rivers, to thy scales, shall stick fast;

Og eg vil setja krokar i kjakarne dine, og fiskarne i elvarne dine vil eg festa i reisti dine, so dreg eg deg upp utor elvarne dine med alle fiskarne i elvarne dine, dei som er feste i reisti dine.

5 And I will stretch thee out towards the desert, Thee and all the fish of thy rivers, On the face of the field, shalt thou lie Thou shalt not be carried away nor shalt thou be gathered, To the wild beast of the earth and to the bird of the heavens, have I given thee for food.

Og eg skal kasta deg ut i øydemarki, deg og kvar ein fisk i elvarne dine. På berre marki skal du falla; du skal ikkje verta uppteken, ikkje uppsamla, dyri på jordi og fuglarne under himmelen skal få deg til mat.

6 So shall all the inhabitants of Egypt know that I, am Yahweh, Because they were a staff of reed to the house of Israel:

Og alle som bur i Egyptarland, skal sanna at eg er Herren, for di at dei vart ein røyrstav åt Israels-lyden;

7 Whensoever they took hold of thee by the hand, thou didst run through, and tear open for them every hand, —And whensoever they leaned upon thee, thou didst break, and caused all their loins to halt.

når dei grip um deg med handi, brotnar du og flengjer deim alle i herdi, og når dei styd seg på deg, ryk du i sund og fær deim alle til å sviga i lenderne.

8 Therefore, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! bringing upon thee a sword, - And I will cut off out of thee, man and beast;

Difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg let sverd koma yver deg, og eg vil rydja ut or deg folk og fe.

9 And the land of Egypt shall become an astonishment and a desolation, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh, —Because he said— The river is mine own, Since, I, myself made it!

Og Egyptarlandet skal verta til audn og øyda - og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren - for di han sagde: «Elvi er mi, og eg sjølv hev gjort henne.»

10 Therefore, behold me! against thee and against thy rivers, - And I will make the land of Egypt to be most desolate an astounding desolation, from Migdol to Syene even up to the boundary of Ethiopia:

Difor, sjå, eg vil finna deg og elvarne dine, og eg vil gjera Egyptarlandet til øydemarker, ei audn lagd i øyde, frå Midgol til Syene og alt til landskilet mot Ætiopia.

11 The foot of man shall not pass through it, Nor shall the foot of beast, pass through it, Neither shall it be inhabited forty years:

Igjenom det skal ikkje mannefot ganga, og fefot skal ikkje ganga gjenom det, og det skal vera ubygt i fyrti år.

12 So will I make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of lands made desolate And her cities—in the midst of cities that have been laid waste, shall become a desolation forty years, - And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations, And scatter them throughout the lands.

Og eg vil leggja Egyptarlandet i øyde midt ibland øydeland, og i byarne - midt ibland øydestader - skal det vera audt i fyrti år. Og eg vil spreida egyptarane millom folki og strå deim kringum i landi.

13 For thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — At the end of forty years, will I gather the Egyptians from among the peoples whither I had dispersed them;

For so segjer Herren, Herren: Når fyrti år er lidne, vil eg samla egyptarane frå dei folkeslag som dei var spreidde.

14 And I will turn the captivity of the Egyptians, And will cause them to return To the land of Pathros Upon the land of their nativity, - And they shall become, there a kingdom abased:

Og eg vil venda Egyptarlands lagnad og føra deim attende til Patroslandet, til det landet som dei er ætta ifrå, og der skal dei vera eit vesalt kongerike.

15 More than [any of] the kingdoms, shall she be abased, And shall lift herself up no more over the nations, —Yea I will make them too small to rule over the nations.

Det skal vera lægre enn andre kongerike og aldri meir hevja seg yver folki, og eg vil lata deim smogna i hop, so dei ikkje skal rikja yver folki.

16 So shall it become no more unto the house of Israel a security. Calling to mind iniquity, by their turning to follow them, - And they shall know that, I, am The Lord Yahweh.

Og aldri meir skal Israels-lyden der søkja seg livd og soleis minna meg um deira misgjerning, med di dei snur seg etter deim. Og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren, Herren.

17 And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year in the first month on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

So hende det i det sju og tjugande året, den fyrste dagen i fyrste månaden, at Herrens ord kom til meg; han sagde:

18 Son of man Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, hath made his army undergo a long service against Tyre, Every head, hath been made bald, and, Every shoulder, worn bare, — But pay, hath he had none nor hath his army, out of Tyre, for the service wherewith he hath served against it.

Menneskjeson! Nebukadressar, Babel-kongen, hev late heren sin stræva hardt mot Tyrus; kvart eit hovud er fleinskalla, og kvar ei herd avgnura. Men løn hev han og heren hans ikkje fenge av Tyrus for alt sitt stræv imot det.

19 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! giving to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, the land of Egypt, — And he shall carry off her multitude And capture her spoil And seize her prey, So shall she become pay for his army.

Difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg gjev Nebukadressar, Babel-kongen, Egyptarland, og han skal taka rikdomen der og rana ranet og hertaka herfanget, og det skal vera løn åt heren hans.

20 As a reward for his labour wherewith he hath served, have I given to him the land of Egypt, —in that they wrought for me, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

Til løn åt honom for strævet gjev eg honom Egyptarland; for dei hev arbeidt for meg, segjer Herren, Herren.

21 In that day, will I cause to bud a horn for the house of Israel, And to thee, will I give an opening of mouth in their midst, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.

Den same dagen vil eg lata eit horn veksa upp åt Israels-lyden; og du skal få lata upp din munn midt ibland deim, og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren.
