< Ezekiel 2 >
1 And he said unto me, —Son of man, Stand upon thy feet, that I may, speak with thee.
Pea naʻa ne pehē mai kiate au, “Foha ʻoe tangata, tuʻu hake ki ho vaʻe pea te u lea kiate koe.”
2 Then the Spirit entered into me as soon as he spake unto me, and it caused me to stand upon my feet, —and I heard one speaking unto me.
Pea ʻi heʻene folofola mai, naʻe hoko mai ʻae laumālie kiate au, ʻo ne fokotuʻu au ki hoku vaʻe, pea u fanongo kiate ia naʻe lea kiate au.
3 And he said unto me- Son of man I am sending thee unto the sons of Israel, unto rebellious nations, which have rebelled against me, —they, and their fathers have transgressed against me, until this very day;
Pea naʻa ne pehē kiate au, “Foha ʻoe tangata, ʻoku ou fekau atu koe ki he fonua ʻo ʻIsileli, ki he puleʻanga angatuʻu, kuo angatuʻu kiate au: kuo fai angahala kiate au ʻakinautolu mo ʻenau ngaahi tamai, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni.
4 and it is unto such sons—of shameless face, and emboldened heart, that I am sending thee, —therefore shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh.
He ko e fānau mata fielahi mo loto fefeka ʻakinautolu. Ko au ia ʻoku ou fekau atu koe kiate kinautolu; pea te ke pehē kiate kinautolu, ʻOku pehē ʻa Sihova ko e ʻOtua.
5 And they! whether they will hear or whether they will forbear, for a perverse house, they are, shall then know that, a prophet, hath been in their midst.
Pea neongo ʻenau loto ke fanongo, pe ko ʻenau taʻeloto ki ai, (he ko e fale angatuʻu ʻakinautolu, ) ka te nau ʻilo naʻe ai ha palōfita ʻiate kinautolu.
6 But thou son of man Be not afraid of them Nor of their words, be afraid Though thorns and thistles are about thee, And amongst prickly plants, thou dost dwell, Of their words, be not afraid nor At their faces, be thou dismayed, For a perverse house, they are!
“Pea ko koe, ʻe foha ʻoe tangata, ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē kiate kinautolu pea ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē ki heʻenau lea, neongo hoʻo ʻi he ʻakau talatala mo e talatalaʻāmoa, pea ke nofo hifo ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi sikopio: ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē ki heʻenau lea, pea ʻoua naʻa ke lilika ʻi heʻenau sio: ka ko e moʻoni ko e fale angatuʻu ʻakinautolu.
7 Thou shalt therefore speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear For perverse, they are!
8 Thou, therefore son of man, hear what I am speaking unto thee., become not perverse like the perverse house, —open thy mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto thee.
Ka ko koe, ʻe foha ʻoe tangata, fanongo ki he meʻa ʻoku ou lea ʻaki kiate koe: ʻoua naʻa ke angatuʻu koe ʻo hangē ko e fale angatuʻu na: fakamanga ho ngutu pea ke kai ʻaia te u foaki kiate koe.”
9 So I looked, and lo! a hand put forth unto me, —and lo! therein a scroll;
Pea ʻi heʻeku sio, vakai, naʻe fakahā mai kiate au ʻae nima; pea vakai naʻe ʻi ai ʻae takainga tohi;
10 and he spread it out before me, and, it was written on the front and the back, —and there were written thereon, lamentation and sighing, and wailing.
Pea ne folofolahi ia ʻi hoku ʻao; pea naʻe tohi ia ʻi loto pea ʻituʻa: pea naʻe tohi ʻi ai ʻae tangi, mo e mamahi, pea mo e malaʻia.
