Ezekiel 16
1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
Og Herrens ord kom til mig, og det lød så:
2 Son of man Let Jerusalem know her abominations,

3 Therefore shalt thou say— Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh To Jerusalem, Thine origin and thy birth, were of the land of the Canaanite, — Thy father was the Amorite And thy mother a Hittite
og si: Så sier Herren, Israels Gud, til Jerusalem: Ditt ophav og din avstamning er fra kana'anittenes land; en amoritt var din far, og en hetittkvinne din mor.
4 And, as for thy birth, in the day thou wast born, Thy navel-cord was not cut, And, in water, wast thou not bathed to cleanse thee, — And, as for being salted, thou was not salted, And, as for being bandaged, thou wast not bandaged.
Og med din fødsel gikk det således til: Den dag du blev født, blev din navlestreng ikke avskåret, og du blev ikke tvettet ren med vann og ikke inngnidd med salt og ikke svøpt i svøp.
5 No eye, threw a shield over thee, by doing for thee one of these things taking pity on thee, - But thou wast cast out on the face of the field Because thy person, was abhorred, in the day thou wast born.
Intet øie ynkedes over dig, så de gjorde noget sådant med dig og forbarmet sig over dig; men du blev kastet ut på marken den dag du blev født, fordi de ikke ønsket at du skulde leve.
6 And I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, thrusting about thee in thy blood, And said to thee— Despite thy blood, live! Yea I said to thee— Despite thy blood, live!
Da gikk jeg forbi dig og så dig sprelle i ditt blod, og jeg sa til dig: Du som ligger der i ditt blod, lev! Ja, jeg sa til dig: Du som ligger der i ditt blod, lev!
7 Into myriads—like the bud of the field, made I thee, And thou didst increase and become well grown, and didst attain to most excellent adornments, — Thy breasts were well-formed And thy hair was grown, But thou thyself wast utterly naked.
Jeg gjorde dig til mange tusen som vekstene på marken, og du vokste og blev stor og nådde den høieste skjønnhet; brystene blev faste, og ditt hår vokste. Men du var naken og bar.
8 And I passed by thee and looked upon thee and lo! thy time was the time for endearments, So I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy shame, And took an oath to thee And entered into covenant with thee. Declareth My Lord. Yahweh. And thou didst become mine.
Da gikk jeg forbi dig og så dig, og se, din tid var kommet, elskovens tid, og jeg bredte min kappe over dig og skjulte din blusel, og jeg tilsvor dig troskap og gjorde pakt med dig, sier Herren, Israels Gud, og du blev min.
9 And I bathed thee in water, and rinsed thy blood from off thee, And anointed thee with oil;
Og jeg tvettet dig med vann og skylte blodet av dig og salvet dig med olje.
10 And clothed thee with an embroidered dress, And sandalled thee in red leather, And wrapped thee about with fine linen, And put over thee a mantle of silk.
Jeg klædde dig med utsydde klær og hadde på dig sko av takas-skinn, og jeg bandt fint lin om dig og hyllet dig i silke.
11 Then decked I thee with ornaments, And put bracelets upon thy hands, And a neckchain upon thy throat;
Jeg prydet dig med smykker, og jeg la armbånd om dine hender og en kjede om din hals.
12 And put a nose-jewel upon thy nose, And earrings in thine ears, And a crown of adorning, upon thy head.
Jeg satte en ring i din nese og ørenringer i dine ører og en prektig krone på ditt hode.
13 Thus wast thou adorned with gold and silver, And thy raiment was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work, Fine flour and honey and oil, didst thou eat, — And so thou becamest exceedingly beautiful, And didst attain unto royalty.
Så smykket du dig med gull og sølv, og din klædning var av fint lin og silke og utsydd tøi; fint mel og honning og olje åt du, og du blev overmåte fager og vel skikket til kongedømme.
14 Then went forth thy fame among the nations. for thy beauty, - For perfect, it was—in my splendour which I had put upon thee, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Og ditt navn kom ut blandt folkene for din skjønnhets skyld; for den var fullkommen på grunn av de herlige prydelser som jeg hadde klædd dig i, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
15 Then didst thou trust in thy beauty, And become unchaste, because of thy fame, - And didst pour out thine unchastity upon every passer-by, his it was!
Men du stolte på din skjønnhet og drev hor i tillit til ditt navn, og du utøste ditt hor over hver den som gikk forbi; han fikk nyte din skjønnhet.
16 Yea thou didst take of thy raiment and madest thee high places of hangings, And didst commit unchastity thereon, - Which ought not to have befallen And not to have come to pass.
Du tok dine klær og gjorde dig brokete telt på offerhaugene og drev hor der; sådant må ikke hende og ikke skje.
17 But thou didst take thine adorning jewels Of my gold and of my silver which I had given thee, And didst make thee images of the male, — And didst act unchastely with them;
Du tok dine prektige smykker, mitt gull og mitt sølv, som jeg hadde gitt dig, og gjorde dig mannfolkebilleder og drev hor med dem.
18 And thou didst take thine embroidered raiment, and cover them, - And mine oil and mine incense, didst thou set before them;
Du tok dine utsydde klær og dekket dem med, og min olje og min røkelse satte du frem for dem.
19 And my food which I had given thee, Fine flour and oil and honey wherewith I fed thee, And didst set it before them for a satisfying odour Yea so it was, — Saith My Lord Yahweh.
Mitt brød, som jeg hadde gitt dig, det fine mel og oljen og honningen som jeg gav dig å ete, det satte du frem for dem til en velbehagelig duft; så vidt gikk det, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
20 And thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, Whom thou hadst borne unto me, And didst sacrifice them unto them to be devoured, - Is this of thine unchastity. a light thing?
Du tok dine sønner og dine døtre, som du hadde født mig, og ofret dem til mat for dem. Var det ikke nok at du drev hor,
21 Yea thou didst slay my children, — And didst deliver them up. that they should be caused to pass through the fire unto them.
siden du slaktet mine barn og gav dem bort - lot dem gå igjennem ilden for dem?
22 And in all thine abominations, and thine unchaste ways, thou rememberedst not the days of thy youth, When thou wast utterly naked. When thou wast thrusting about thee in thy blood!
Og ved alle dine vederstyggeligheter og ditt hor kom du ikke din ungdoms dager i hu, da du var naken og bar og lå og sprelte i ditt blod.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, Woe! Woe! to thee, Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh;
Og efter all denne din ondskap - ve, ve dig! sier Herren, Israels Gud
24 That thou didst build thee a brothel, — and didst make thee a height in every broadway:
bygget du dig en hvelving og gjorde dig en offerhaug i hver gate.
25 At the head of every road, didst thou build thy height, And bring thy beauty into disgust, And open thy feet to every passer-by, So didst thou make thine unchaste ways to abound.
Ved hvert veiskjell bygget du din offerhaug og vanæret din skjønnhet og bredte dine føtter ut for hver den som gikk forbi, og du drev stadig hor.
26 Then didst thou extend thine unchaste acts unto the sons of Egypt—thy neighbour great of flesh, - And caused thine unchaste ways to abound provoking me to anger.
Du drev hor med Egyptens sønner, dine kjøttfulle naboer, og du drev stadig hor, så du vakte min harme.
27 Lo! therefore, I have stretched out my hand against thee, And diminished thine allotted portion, — And have delivered thee up unto the desire of them who hate thee The daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of thy lewd way.
Og se, jeg rakte ut min hånd mot dig og avknappet det som var tiltenkt dig, og jeg lot dem som hatet dig, få gjøre med dig som de lystet - filistrenes døtre, som bluedes ved din skammelige ferd.
28 Thou didst also extend thine unchastity unto the sons of Assyria, because thou wast insatiable. Yet though thou didst behave unchastely with them, yet even so couldst thou not be satisfied,
Og du drev hor med Assurs sønner, fordi du ikke var mett; du drev hor med dem og blev enda ikke mett.
29 Thou didst therefore cause thine unchaste ways to abound unto the land of Canaan as towards Chaldea. Yet even herewith, wast thou not satisfied.
Og du drev stadig hor, helt bort til kremmerlandet Kaldea; men heller ikke da blev du mett.
30 How weak was thy heart! Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh, — That thou couldst have done all these things, The doing of a lewd woman without shame:
Hvor ditt hjerte var vissent, sier Herren, Israels Gud, da du gjorde alt dette, slikt som bare en skamløs skjøge gjør,
31 That thou couldst have built thy brothel at the head of every road, And thy height, couldst have made in every broadway, - Yet becamest not as a harlot to lay claim to a harlot’s hire.
da du bygget din hvelving ved hvert veiskjell og din offerhaug i hver gate. Men du var ikke som andre skjøger, for du foraktet skjøgelønn.
32 A wife who committeth adultery, instead of her husband accepteth strangers.
Du horkvinne, som i stedet for din mann tar imot fremmede!
33 To all harlots, they give a present, — But, thou, didst give thy presents to all thy lovers, And didst bribe them to come in unto thee from every side, in thine unchastity!
Alle skjøger gir de lønn, men du gav alle dine elskere dine gaver og kjøpte dem til å komme til dig fra alle kanter og drive hor med dig.
34 And so there came about in thee, the reverse of women, in thine unchastity, In that they did not follow thee for purposes of lewdness, — And in that thou gavest a present while, no present, was given to thee So didst thou become, the reverse.
Og med dig skjedde det omvendte av det som skjer med andre kvinner: Du drev hor uten at nogen løp efter dig, og du gav horelønn uten selv å få det; således blev du det omvendte av andre.
35 Therefore O harlot, hear thou the word of Yahweh;
Hør derfor Herrens ord, du horkvinne!
36 Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, — Because thy money, was poured out, and thy shame, was uncovered, in thine unchastity, unto thy lovers, —and unto all thine abominable manufactured gods, even as the blood of thy children, whom thou didst deliver up unto them,
Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Fordi du har ødslet med ditt kobber og avdekket din blusel, når du drev hor med dine elskere, og for alle dine vederstyggelige avguders skyld og for dine barns blods skyld, som du gav dem,
37 Therefore behold me! gathering together all thy lovers unto whom thou didst make thyself pleasant, Even all whom thou lovedst, With all whom thou hatedst, — Yea I will gather them together unto thee from every side And will uncover thy shame unto them, And they shall see all thy shame.
se, derfor samler jeg alle dine elskere, som likte dig så godt, og alle dem du elsket, og likeså alle dem du hatet - jeg vil samle dem mot dig fra alle kanter og avdekke din blusel for dem, så de får se hele din blusel.
38 So will I judge thee. with the judgments meted out to adulteresses and shedders of blood, - And will repay thee with the blood of indignation and jealousy;
Jeg vil dømme dig likesom de kvinner dømmes som driver hor og utøser blod, og jeg vil gjøre dig til bare blod ved min harme og nidkjærhet.
39 And will deliver thee into their hand. And they shall pull down thy brothel And break in pieces thy heights, And strip thee of thy raiment, And take away thine adorning jewels, - And leave thee utterly naked.
Jeg vil gi dig i deres hånd, og de skal rive din hvelving og bryte ned dine offerhauger og dra dine klær av dig og ta dine prektige smykker og la dig ligge der naken og bar.
40 Then will they bring up against thee a gathered host, And they will stone thee with stones, - And cut thee to pieces with their swords;
Og de skal føre en folkeskare frem mot dig og stene dig og hugge dig i stykker med sine sverd.
41 And burn up thy houses with fire, And execute upon thee judgments before the eyes of many women, —So will I cause thee to cease from acting unchastely, Moreover also a present, shalt thou not give any more.
De skal brenne op dine hus med ild og holde dom over dig for mange kvinners øine; og jeg vil gjøre ende på ditt horeliv, og du skal ikke mere kunne gi horelønn.
42 So will I let mine indignation find rest in thee, And my jealousy shall depart from thee, —And I will be quiet, and not be provoked any more.
Således vil jeg stille min harme på dig, og så skal min nidkjærhet vike fra dig, og jeg vil holde mig rolig og ikke vredes mere.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, But hast enraged me with all these things Therefore also behold! I thy way, upon thine own head, will place Declareth My Lord Yahweh, And thou shalt not commit a crime above all thine abominations
Fordi du ikke kom din ungdoms dager i hu, men krenket mig ved alt dette, se, derfor vil også jeg la dine gjerninger komme over ditt eget hode, sier Herren, Israels Gud; for har du ikke lagt skjensel til alle dine vederstyggeligheter?
44 Lo! every one who useth proverbs, against thee, shall use a proverb saying, — Like the mother, so her daughter!
Se, alle som lager ordsprog, skal bruke dette ordsprog om dig: Som moren, så datteren.
45 The daughter of thy mother, thou art! One abhorring her own husband and her own children, — Yea the sister of thy sisters, thou art Who abhorred their own husbands and their own children, Your mother was a Hittite, And your father an Amorite.
Du er din mors datter, hun som foraktet sin mann og sine barn, og du er dine søstres søster, de som foraktet sine menn og sine barn; en hetittkvinne er eders mor, og en amoritt eders far.
46 And thine elder sister, was Samaria, she and her daughters, dwelling on thy left hand, — And thy sister younger than thou dwelling on thy right hand was Sodom and her daughters.
Din større søster er Samaria med sine døtre, hun som bor ved din venstre side, og din mindre søster, som bor ved din høire side, er Sodoma og hennes døtre.
47 Yet not in their ways, didst thou walk, nor according to their abominations, didst thou do, — As though that were quite too little, thou didst corrupt thyself beyond them in all thy ways.
Du gikk ikke på deres veier og gjorde ikke efter deres vederstyggeligheter; men bare en liten stund - så gjorde du det verre enn de, på alle dine veier.
48 As I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Very! Sodom thy sister had not done, neither she nor her daughters, —as thou and thy daughters have done.
Så sant jeg lever, sier Herren, Israels Gud, Sodoma, din søster, med sine døtre har ikke gjort som du og dine døtre har gjort.
49 Lo! this became the iniquity of Sodom thy sister, — Pride, fulness of bread, and careless security came to her and to her daughters, And the hand of the oppressed and the needy, she strengthened not.
Se, dette var Sodomas, din søsters misgjerning: overmot; overflod av brød og trygg ro hadde hun og hennes døtre; men den elendige og fattige hjalp hun ikke;
50 So then they became haughty, and committed abomination before me, - And I took them away. when I saw [it],
de ophøiet sig og gjorde det som var vederstyggelig for mitt åsyn, og jeg ryddet dem bort da jeg så det.
51 Nor did, Samaria, commit, one-half thy sins, — But thou didst multiply thine abominations more than they, And didst cause thy sisters to appear righteous, by all the abominations which thou didst commit.
Heller ikke Samaria har syndet halvt så meget som du; du gjorde mange flere vederstyggeligheter enn de, og du rettferdiggjorde dine søstre ved alle de vederstyggeligheter som du gjorde.
52 Thou also bear thine own reproach, which thou didst adjudge to thy sisters, by thy sins in which thou wast more abominable than they, thou didst make them appear more righteous than thou, — Thou also, therefore turn thou pale and bear thine own reproach, for making thy sisters appear righteous!
Bær da også du din skam, du som har dømt til beste for dine søstre! For dine synders skyld, hvormed du har båret dig mere vederstyggelig at enn de, er de rettferdigere enn du; så skam dig da, også du, og bær din skjensel, idet du rettferdiggjør dine søstre!
53 When therefore I bring back their captivity, The captivity of Sodom and her daughters, And the captivity of Samaria and her daughters Then will I bring back thy captivities in their midst:
Men jeg vil gjøre ende på deres fangenskap, Sodomas og hennes døtres fangenskap og Samarias og hennes døtres fangenskap og dine fangnes fangenskap midt iblandt dem,
54 That thou mayest bear thine own reproach, And take to thyself reproach because of all that thou didst in comforting them.
forat du skal bære din skam og bli skamfull over alt det du har gjort, idet du trøster dem.
55 When thy sisters Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former estate, And Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate Then thou and thy daughters, shall return to your former estate.
Og dine søstre, Sodoma og hennes døtre, skal komme tilbake til sin tidligere tilstand, og Samaria og hennes døtre skal komme tilbake til sin tidligere tilstand, og du og dine døtre, I skal komme tilbake til eders tidligere tilstand.
56 And Sodom thy sister was never heard in thy mouth, —In the day of thy pride:
Og var ikke Sodoma, din søster, et omkvede i din munn på ditt overmots dag,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, As now, [thou art] the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all round about her the daughters of the Philistines, —who are despising thee on every side.
før din ondskap kom for dagen, likesom på den tid du blev hånet av Syrias døtre og alle dem som bodde rundt omkring det, og av filistrenes døtre, som foraktet dig rundt omkring?
58 As for thy crime and thine abominations, thou thyself, dost bear them, — Declareth Yahweh.
Din utukt og dine vederstyggeligheter skal du bære straffen for, sier Herren.
59 For Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I deal with thee just as thou hast dealt, - In that thou didst despise an oath by breaking a covenant.
For så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Jeg vil gjøre mot dig efter det du har gjort, du som foraktet eden og brøt pakten.
60 Therefore will I remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, — And will establish for thee a covenant age-abiding.
Og så vil jeg komme i hu min pakt med dig i din ungdoms dager, og jeg vil oprette en evig pakt med dig.
61 Thou shalt therefore remember thy ways and take to thyself reproach, by receiving thy sisters. The older than thou, And the younger than thou, - And I will give them unto thee for daughters Though not by thine own covenant.
Og du skal komme din ferd i hu og skamme dig, når du tar imot dine søstre, både dem som er større enn du, og dem som er mindre enn du, og jeg gir dig dem til døtre, enda de ikke hører med til din pakt.
62 But I myself, will establish my covenant with thee— And thou shalt know that I, am Yahweh:
Jeg vil oprette min pakt med dig, og du skal kjenne at jeg er Herren,
63 To the end thou mayest remember and turn pale, and there be to thee no more, an opening of mouth, because of thy reproach, - In that I have accepted a propitiatory covering for thee as to all that thou hast done, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.
forat du skal komme din ferd i hu og blues og ikke mere oplate din munn for din skams skyld, når jeg forlater dig alt det du har gjort, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
