Ezekiel 16

1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:

2 Son of man Let Jerusalem know her abominations,

Du Menschenkind, offenbare der Stadt Jerusalem ihre Greuel und sprich:

3 Therefore shalt thou say— Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh To Jerusalem, Thine origin and thy birth, were of the land of the Canaanite, — Thy father was the Amorite And thy mother a Hittite

So spricht der HERR HERR zu Jerusalem: Dein Geschlecht und deine Geburt ist aus der Kanaaniter Lande, dein Vater aus den Amoritern und deine Mutter aus den Hethitern.

4 And, as for thy birth, in the day thou wast born, Thy navel-cord was not cut, And, in water, wast thou not bathed to cleanse thee, — And, as for being salted, thou was not salted, And, as for being bandaged, thou wast not bandaged.

Deine Geburt ist also gewesen: Dein Nabel, da du geboren wurdest, ist nicht verschnitten; so hat man dich auch mit Wasser nicht gebadet, daß du sauber würdest, noch mit Salz gerieben, noch in Windeln gewickelt.

5 No eye, threw a shield over thee, by doing for thee one of these things taking pity on thee, - But thou wast cast out on the face of the field Because thy person, was abhorred, in the day thou wast born.

Denn niemand jammerte dein, daß er sich über dich hätte erbarmet und der Stücke eins dir erzeiget, sondern du wurdest aufs Feld geworfen. Also verachtet war deine Seele, da du geboren warest.

6 And I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, thrusting about thee in thy blood, And said to thee— Despite thy blood, live! Yea I said to thee— Despite thy blood, live!

Ich aber ging vor dir über und sah dich in deinem Blut liegen und sprach zu dir, da du so in deinem Blut lagest: Du sollst leben! Ja, zu dir sprach ich, da du so in deinem Blut lagest: Du sollst leben!

7 Into myriads—like the bud of the field, made I thee, And thou didst increase and become well grown, and didst attain to most excellent adornments, — Thy breasts were well-formed And thy hair was grown, But thou thyself wast utterly naked.

Und habe dich erzogen und lassen groß werden wie ein Gewächs auf dem Felde; und warest nun gewachsen und groß und schön worden. Deine Brüste waren gewachsen und hattest schon lange Haare gekriegt; aber du warest noch bloß und beschamet.

8 And I passed by thee and looked upon thee and lo! thy time was the time for endearments, So I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy shame, And took an oath to thee And entered into covenant with thee. Declareth My Lord. Yahweh. And thou didst become mine.

Und ich ging vor dir über und sah dich an; und siehe, es war die Zeit, um dich zu werben. Da breitete ich meinen Geren über dich und bedeckte deine Scham. Und ich gelobte dir's und begab mich mit dir in einen Bund, spricht der HERR HERR, daß du solltest mein sein.

9 And I bathed thee in water, and rinsed thy blood from off thee, And anointed thee with oil;

Und ich badete dich mit Wasser und wusch dich von deinem Blut und salbete dich mit Balsam

10 And clothed thee with an embroidered dress, And sandalled thee in red leather, And wrapped thee about with fine linen, And put over thee a mantle of silk.

und kleidete dich mit gestickten Kleidern und zog dir sämische Schuhe an; ich gab dir feine leinene Kleider und seidene Schleier

11 Then decked I thee with ornaments, And put bracelets upon thy hands, And a neckchain upon thy throat;

und zierte dich mit Kleinoden und legte Geschmeide an deine Arme und Kettlein an deinen Hals

12 And put a nose-jewel upon thy nose, And earrings in thine ears, And a crown of adorning, upon thy head.

und gab dir Haarband an deine Stirn und Ohrringe an deine Ohren und eine schöne Krone auf dein Haupt.

13 Thus wast thou adorned with gold and silver, And thy raiment was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work, Fine flour and honey and oil, didst thou eat, — And so thou becamest exceedingly beautiful, And didst attain unto royalty.

Summa, du warest geziert mit eitel Gold und Silber und gekleidet mit eitel Leinwand, Seiden und Gesticktem. Du aßest auch eitel Semmel, Honig und Öl und warest überaus schön und bekamest das Königreich.

14 Then went forth thy fame among the nations. for thy beauty, - For perfect, it was—in my splendour which I had put upon thee, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

Und dein Ruhm erscholl unter die Heiden deiner Schöne halben, welche ganz vollkommen war durch den Schmuck, so ich an dich gehänget hatte, spricht der HERR HERR.

15 Then didst thou trust in thy beauty, And become unchaste, because of thy fame, - And didst pour out thine unchastity upon every passer-by, his it was!

Aber du verließest dich auf deine Schöne; und weil du so gerühmet warest, triebest du Hurerei, also daß du dich einem jeglichen, wer vorüberging, gemein machtest und tatest seinen Willen.

16 Yea thou didst take of thy raiment and madest thee high places of hangings, And didst commit unchastity thereon, - Which ought not to have befallen And not to have come to pass.

Und nahmest von deinen Kleidern und machtest dir bunte Altäre daraus und triebest deine Hurerei darauf, als nie geschehen ist noch geschehen wird.

17 But thou didst take thine adorning jewels Of my gold and of my silver which I had given thee, And didst make thee images of the male, — And didst act unchastely with them;

Du nahmest auch dein schön Gerät, das ich dir von meinem Gold und Silber gegeben hatte, und machtest dir Mannsbilder daraus und triebest deine Hurerei mit denselben.

18 And thou didst take thine embroidered raiment, and cover them, - And mine oil and mine incense, didst thou set before them;

Und nahmest deine gestickten Kleider und bedecktest sie damit; und mein Öl und Räuchwerk legtest du ihnen vor.

19 And my food which I had given thee, Fine flour and oil and honey wherewith I fed thee, And didst set it before them for a satisfying odour Yea so it was, — Saith My Lord Yahweh.

Meine Speise, die ich dir zu essen gab, Semmel, Öl, Honig, legtest du ihnen vor zum süßen Geruch. Ja, es kam dahin, spricht der HERR HERR,

20 And thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, Whom thou hadst borne unto me, And didst sacrifice them unto them to be devoured, - Is this of thine unchastity. a light thing?

daß du nahmest deine Söhne und Töchter, die du mir gezeuget hattest, und opfertest sie denselben zu fressen. Meinest du denn, daß ein Geringes sei um deine Hurerei,

21 Yea thou didst slay my children, — And didst deliver them up. that they should be caused to pass through the fire unto them.

daß du mir meine Kinder schlachtest und lässest sie denselben verbrennen?

22 And in all thine abominations, and thine unchaste ways, thou rememberedst not the days of thy youth, When thou wast utterly naked. When thou wast thrusting about thee in thy blood!

Noch hast du in allen deinen Greueln und Hurerei nie gedacht an die Zeit deiner Jugend, wie bloß und nackend du warest und in deinem Blut lagest.

23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, Woe! Woe! to thee, Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh;

Über alle diese deine Bosheit (ach, wehe, wehe dir!), spricht der HERR HERR,

24 That thou didst build thee a brothel, — and didst make thee a height in every broadway:

bauetest du dir Bergkirchen und machtest dir Bergaltäre auf allen Gassen.

25 At the head of every road, didst thou build thy height, And bring thy beauty into disgust, And open thy feet to every passer-by, So didst thou make thine unchaste ways to abound.

Und vornean auf allen Straßen bauetest du deine Bergaltäre und machtest deine Schöne zu eitel Greuel. Du gretetest mit deinen Beinen gegen alle, so vorübergingen, und triebest große Hurerei.

26 Then didst thou extend thine unchaste acts unto the sons of Egypt—thy neighbour great of flesh, - And caused thine unchaste ways to abound provoking me to anger.

Erstlich triebest du Hurerei mit den Kindern Ägyptens, deinen Nachbarn, die groß Fleisch hatten, und triebest große Hurerei, mich zu reizen.

27 Lo! therefore, I have stretched out my hand against thee, And diminished thine allotted portion, — And have delivered thee up unto the desire of them who hate thee The daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of thy lewd way.

Ich aber streckte meine Hand aus wider dich und steuerte solcher deiner Weise und übergab dich in den Willen deiner Feinde, den Töchtern der Philister, welche sich schämten vor deinem verruchten Wesen.

28 Thou didst also extend thine unchastity unto the sons of Assyria, because thou wast insatiable. Yet though thou didst behave unchastely with them, yet even so couldst thou not be satisfied,

Danach triebest du Hurerei mit den Kindern Assur und konntest des nicht satt werden; ja, da du mit ihnen Hurerei getrieben hattest, und des nicht satt werden konntest,

29 Thou didst therefore cause thine unchaste ways to abound unto the land of Canaan as towards Chaldea. Yet even herewith, wast thou not satisfied.

machtest du der Hurerei noch mehr im Lande Kanaan bis nach Chaldäa; noch konntest du damit auch nicht satt werden.

30 How weak was thy heart! Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh, — That thou couldst have done all these things, The doing of a lewd woman without shame:

Wie soll ich dir doch dein Herz beschneiden, spricht der HERR HERR, weil du solche Werke tust einer großen Erzhure,

31 That thou couldst have built thy brothel at the head of every road, And thy height, couldst have made in every broadway, - Yet becamest not as a harlot to lay claim to a harlot’s hire.

damit daß du deine Bergkirchen bauetest vornean auf allen Straßen und deine Altäre machtest auf allen Gassen? Dazu warest du nicht wie eine andere Hure, die man muß mit Geld kaufen,

32 A wife who committeth adultery, instead of her husband accepteth strangers.

noch wie die Ehebrecherin, die anstatt ihres Mannes andere zuläßt.

33 To all harlots, they give a present, — But, thou, didst give thy presents to all thy lovers, And didst bribe them to come in unto thee from every side, in thine unchastity!

Denn allen andern Huren gibt man Geld; du aber gibst allen deinen Buhlern Geld zu und schenkest ihnen, daß sie zu dir kommen allenthalben und mit dir Hurerei treiben.

34 And so there came about in thee, the reverse of women, in thine unchastity, In that they did not follow thee for purposes of lewdness, — And in that thou gavest a present while, no present, was given to thee So didst thou become, the reverse.

Und findet sich an dir das Widerspiel vor andern Weibern mit deiner Hurerei, weil man dir nicht nachläuft, sondern du Geld zugibst und man dir nicht Geld zugibt. Also treibest du das Widerspiel.

35 Therefore O harlot, hear thou the word of Yahweh;

Darum, du Hure, höre des HERRN Wort!

36 Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, — Because thy money, was poured out, and thy shame, was uncovered, in thine unchastity, unto thy lovers, —and unto all thine abominable manufactured gods, even as the blood of thy children, whom thou didst deliver up unto them,

So spricht der HERR HERR: Weil du denn so milde Geld zugibst und deine Scham durch deine Hurerei gegen deine Buhlen entblößest und gegen alle Götzen deiner Greuel und vergeußest das Blut deiner Kinder, welche du ihnen opferst,

37 Therefore behold me! gathering together all thy lovers unto whom thou didst make thyself pleasant, Even all whom thou lovedst, With all whom thou hatedst, — Yea I will gather them together unto thee from every side And will uncover thy shame unto them, And they shall see all thy shame.

darum, siehe, will ich sammeln alle deine Buhlen, mit welchen du Wollust getrieben hast, samt allen, die du für Freunde hieltest, zu deinen Feinden; und will sie beide wider dich sammeln allenthalben und will ihnen deine Scham blößen, daß sie deine Scham gar sehen sollen.

38 So will I judge thee. with the judgments meted out to adulteresses and shedders of blood, - And will repay thee with the blood of indignation and jealousy;

Und will das Recht der Ehebrecherinnen und Blutvergießerinnen über dich gehen lassen und will dein Blut stürzen mit Grimm und Eifer.

39 And will deliver thee into their hand. And they shall pull down thy brothel And break in pieces thy heights, And strip thee of thy raiment, And take away thine adorning jewels, - And leave thee utterly naked.

Und will dich in ihre Hände geben, daß sie deine Bergkirchen abbrechen und deine Bergaltäre umreißen und dir deine Kleider ausziehen und dein schön Gerät dir nehmen und dich nackend und bloß sitzen lassen.

40 Then will they bring up against thee a gathered host, And they will stone thee with stones, - And cut thee to pieces with their swords;

Und sollen Haufen Leute über dich bringen, die dich steinigen und mit ihren Schwertern zerhauen

41 And burn up thy houses with fire, And execute upon thee judgments before the eyes of many women, —So will I cause thee to cease from acting unchastely, Moreover also a present, shalt thou not give any more.

und deine Häuser mit Feuer verbrennen und dir dein Recht tun vor den Augen vieler Weiber. Also will ich deiner Hurerei ein Ende machen, daß du nicht mehr sollst Geld noch zugeben.

42 So will I let mine indignation find rest in thee, And my jealousy shall depart from thee, —And I will be quiet, and not be provoked any more.

Und will meinen Mut an dir kühlen und meinen Eifer an dir sättigen, daß ich ruhe und nicht mehr zürnen dürfe.

43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, But hast enraged me with all these things Therefore also behold! I thy way, upon thine own head, will place Declareth My Lord Yahweh, And thou shalt not commit a crime above all thine abominations

Darum daß du nicht gedacht hast an die Zeit deiner Jugend, sondern mich mit diesem allem gereizet, darum will ich auch dir all dein Tun auf den Kopf legen, spricht der HERR HERR; wiewohl ich damit nicht getan habe nach dem Laster in deinen Greueln.

44 Lo! every one who useth proverbs, against thee, shall use a proverb saying, — Like the mother, so her daughter!

Siehe, alle die, so Sprichwort pflegen zu üben, werden von dir dies Sprichwort sagen: Die Tochter ist wie die Mutter.

45 The daughter of thy mother, thou art! One abhorring her own husband and her own children, — Yea the sister of thy sisters, thou art Who abhorred their own husbands and their own children, Your mother was a Hittite, And your father an Amorite.

Du bist deiner Mutter Tochter, welche ihren Mann und Kinder verstößt, und bist eine Schwester deiner Schwestern, die ihre Männer und Kinder verstoßen. Eure Mutter ist eine von den Hethitern und euer Vater ein Amoriter.

46 And thine elder sister, was Samaria, she and her daughters, dwelling on thy left hand, — And thy sister younger than thou dwelling on thy right hand was Sodom and her daughters.

Samaria ist deine große Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die dir zur Linken wohnet, und Sodom ist deine kleine Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die zu deiner Rechten wohnet;

47 Yet not in their ways, didst thou walk, nor according to their abominations, didst thou do, — As though that were quite too little, thou didst corrupt thyself beyond them in all thy ways.

wiewohl du dennoch nicht gelebet hast nach ihrem Wesen noch getan nach ihren Greueln. Es fehlet nicht weit, daß du es ärger gemacht hast denn sie in all deinem Wesen.

48 As I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Very! Sodom thy sister had not done, neither she nor her daughters, —as thou and thy daughters have done.

So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR HERR, Sodom, deine Schwester, samt ihren Töchtern hat nicht so getan wie du und deine Töchter.

49 Lo! this became the iniquity of Sodom thy sister, — Pride, fulness of bread, and careless security came to her and to her daughters, And the hand of the oppressed and the needy, she strengthened not.

Siehe, das war deiner Schwester Sodom Missetat: Hoffart und alles vollauf und guter Friede, den sie und ihre Töchter hatten; aber dem Armen und Dürftigen halfen sie nicht,

50 So then they became haughty, and committed abomination before me, - And I took them away. when I saw [it],

sondern waren stolz und taten Greuel vor mir; darum ich sie auch weggetan habe, da ich begann dareinzusehen.

51 Nor did, Samaria, commit, one-half thy sins, — But thou didst multiply thine abominations more than they, And didst cause thy sisters to appear righteous, by all the abominations which thou didst commit.

So hat auch Samaria nicht die Hälfte deiner Sünden getan, sondern du hast deiner Greuel so viel mehr über sie getan, daß du deine Schwester gleich fromm gemacht hast gegen alle deine Greuel, die du getan hast.

52 Thou also bear thine own reproach, which thou didst adjudge to thy sisters, by thy sins in which thou wast more abominable than they, thou didst make them appear more righteous than thou, — Thou also, therefore turn thou pale and bear thine own reproach, for making thy sisters appear righteous!

So trage auch nun deine Schande, die du deine Schwester fromm machst durch deine Sünden, in welchen du größere Greuel denn sie getan hast, und machst sie frömmer, denn du bist. So sei nun auch du schamrot und trage deine Schande, daß du deine Schwester fromm gemacht hast.

53 When therefore I bring back their captivity, The captivity of Sodom and her daughters, And the captivity of Samaria and her daughters Then will I bring back thy captivities in their midst:

Ich will aber ihr Gefängnis wenden, nämlich das Gefängnis dieser Sodom und ihrer Töchter und das Gefängnis dieser Samaria und ihrer Töchter und die Gefangenen deines jetzigen Gefängnisses samt ihnen,

54 That thou mayest bear thine own reproach, And take to thyself reproach because of all that thou didst in comforting them.

daß du tragen müssest deine Schande und Hohn für alles, das du getan hast, und dennoch ihr getröstet werdet.

55 When thy sisters Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former estate, And Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate Then thou and thy daughters, shall return to your former estate.

Und deine Schwester, diese Sodom und ihre Töchter sollen bekehret werden, wie sie vor gewesen sind, und Samaria und ihre Töchter sollen bekehret werden, wie sie vor gewesen sind, dazu du auch und deine Töchter sollet bekehret werden, wie ihr vor gewesen seid.

56 And Sodom thy sister was never heard in thy mouth, —In the day of thy pride:

Und wirst nicht mehr dieselbige Sodom, deine Schwester, rühmen wie zur Zeit deines Hochmuts,

57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, As now, [thou art] the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all round about her the daughters of the Philistines, —who are despising thee on every side.

da deine Bosheit noch nicht entdeckt war, als zur Zeit, da dich die Töchter Syriens und die Töchter der Philister allenthalben schändeten und verachteten dich um und um,

58 As for thy crime and thine abominations, thou thyself, dost bear them, — Declareth Yahweh.

da ihr mußtet eure Laster und Greuel tragen, spricht der HERR HERR.

59 For Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I deal with thee just as thou hast dealt, - In that thou didst despise an oath by breaking a covenant.

Denn also spricht der HERR HERR: Ich will dir tun, wie du getan hast, daß du den Eid verachtest und brichst den Bund.

60 Therefore will I remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, — And will establish for thee a covenant age-abiding.

Ich will aber gedenken an meinen Bund, den ich mit dir gemacht habe zur Zeit deiner Jugend, und will mit dir einen ewigen Bund aufrichten.

61 Thou shalt therefore remember thy ways and take to thyself reproach, by receiving thy sisters. The older than thou, And the younger than thou, - And I will give them unto thee for daughters Though not by thine own covenant.

Da wirst du an deine Wege gedenken und dich schämen, wenn du deine großen und kleinen Schwestern zu dir nehmen wirst, die ich dir zu Töchtern geben werde, aber nicht aus deinem Bunde,

62 But I myself, will establish my covenant with thee— And thou shalt know that I, am Yahweh:

sondern will meinen Bund mit dir aufrichten, daß du erfahren sollst, daß ich der HERR sei,

63 To the end thou mayest remember and turn pale, and there be to thee no more, an opening of mouth, because of thy reproach, - In that I have accepted a propitiatory covering for thee as to all that thou hast done, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.

auf daß du daran gedenkest und dich schämest und vor Schanden nicht mehr deinen Mund auftun dürfest, wenn ich dir alles vergeben werde, was du getan hast, spricht der HERR HERR.
