Ezekiel 14
1 Then came there unto me men, of the elders of Israel, —and sat before me—
Entonces algunos de los hombres responsables de Israel vinieron a mí y tomaron sus asientos delante de mí.
2 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
3 Son of man These men have brought up their manufactured gods upon their hear, And their stumbling-block of iniquity, have they set straight before their face, —Shall I be at all enquired of by them?
Hijo de hombre, estos hombres han llevado a sus falsos dioses a sus corazones y han puesto ante sus rostros el pecado que es la causa de su caída: ¿voy a escuchar cuando vengan a mí en busca de instrucciones?
4 Therefore speak unto them and say unto them, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Any man whatsoever of the house of Israel Who shall bring up his manufactured gods upon his heart, And set, his stumbling-block of iniquity, straight before his face, And then come in unto the prophet, I Yahweh, have myself answered him thereby. By the multitude of his manufactured gods:
Por esto, díles: Estas son las palabras del Señor Dios: Todo hombre de Israel que ha tomado a su falso dios en su corazón, y ha puesto ante su rostro el pecado que es la causa de su caída, y viene al profeta Yo, el Señor, le daré una respuesta de acuerdo con el número de sus falsos dioses.
5 To the end the house of Israel may be taken by their own hearts, —in that they have estranged themselves from me, through their manufactured gods—all of them!
Con el propósito de alcanzar a los hijos de Israel en sus corazones, porque se han desviado de mí a través de sus falsos dioses.
6 Therefore, say thou unto the house of Israel, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Turn ye—and make good your return—from your manufactured gods; And, from all your abominations, make good the turning away of your faces.
Por esta causa, di a los hijos de Israel: Estas son las palabras del Señor Dios: regresa y abandona a tus dioses falsos y deja que tus rostros se desvíen de tus cosas repugnantes.
7 For what man soever of the house of Israel Or of the sojourners who sojourn in Israel, Who shall estrange himself from following me And who shall bring up his manufactured gods, on his heart, And whose stumbling-block of iniquity, he shall set straight before his face, And then come in unto the prophet, to enquire by him of me, I Yahweh, will myself answer him, on my own account;
Cuando cualquiera de los hombres de Israel, o de aquellos de otras tierras que viven en Israel, se aparta de mí y lleva a sus falsos dioses a su corazón, y pone ante su rostro el pecado que es la causa de su caída, luego viene al profeta para que le dé instrucciones; Yo el Señor le daré una respuesta por mí mismo:
8 And will set my face against that man And will make of him a sign and a proverb, And will cut him off out of the midst of my people: So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.
Y mi rostro se volverá contra ese hombre, y le haré una señal y proverbio, separándolo de entre mi pueblo; y sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
9 Yea the prophet himself when he suffereth himself to be deceived, and speaketh a word, I Yahweh, have suffered that prophet to be deceived, Then will I stretch forth my hand against him, and destroy him out of the midst of my people. Israel:
Y si el profeta, engañado por el engaño, dice algo, soy yo el Señor por quien ha sido engañado, y extiendo mi mano contra él, y él será separado de entre mi pueblo Israel.
10 So shall they bear their punishment, As the punishment of him that enquireth, So shall the punishment of the prophet be:
Y el castigo de su pecado estará sobre ellos: el pecado del profeta será el mismo que el pecado del que va a él por consulta;
11 That the house of Israel may no more go astray from following me, And no more defile themselves by any of their transgressions, — But may become my people, and I, may become their God, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Para que los hijos de Israel ya no se alejen de mí, o se vuelvan impuros con todas sus malas acciones; pero ellos serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios, dice el Señor Dios.
12 And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
13 Son of man, When a land, shall sin against me by committing treachery, and I shall stretch out my hand against it, And break for it the staff of bread, And send thereon famine, And cut off therefrom man and beast,
Hijo de hombre, cuando una tierra que peca contra mí, hace mal, y mi mano se extiende contra ella, y se rompe el sostén de su pan, y no le daré provisión de alimento, cortando al hombre y la bestia de ella.
14 Then should these three men be in the midst thereof, Noah, Daniel, and Job, they by their righteousness should deliver their own lives— Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Aun si estos tres hombres, Noé, Daniel y Job estuvieran en esto, solo ellos mismos se mantendrían a salvo por su justicia, dice el Señor Dios.
15 If a mischievous wild beast, I suffer to pass through the land, and that beast bereave it, so that it become too desolate for any man to pass through, by reason of the wild beast,
O si envío bestias malvadas a través de la tierra causando destrucción y desolación, para que ningún hombre pueda pasar a causa de las bestias.
16 [Were] these three men in the midst thereof, As I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely neither sons nor daughters, should they deliver, They alone should be delivered, But the land, should become a desolation.
Incluso si estos tres hombres estuvieran en ella, según mi vida, dice el Señor Dios, no mantendrían a salvo a sus hijos o hijas, sino sólo a sí mismos, y la tierra se convertiría en un desierto.
17 Or, a sword, I should bring upon that land, and should say. O sword! thou shalt go through the land, and so I should cut off therefrom, man and beast,
O si envío una espada contra esa tierra y digo: Espada, recorre la tierra, cortando de ella el hombre y la bestia:
18 Were these three men in the midst thereof, As I live! Saith My Lord Yahweh, They should deliver neither sons nor daughters, — For they alone, should be delivered.
Incluso si estos tres hombres estuvieran en ella, según mi vida, dice el Señor Dios, no mantendrían a salvo a sus hijos o hijas, sino a sí mismos.
19 Or pestilence, I, should send into that land, —and should pour out mine indignation thereon in blood, to cut off therefrom man and beast
O si envío enfermedad a esa tierra, suelto mi ira sobre ella con sangre, cortando de ella al hombre y la bestia:
20 Were Noah, Daniel and Job in the midst thereof, As I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely neither son nor daughter, should they deliver, They, by their righteousness should deliver only their own lives.
Aunque Noe, Daniel y Job estuvieran en ella, por mi vida, dice el Señor, no mantendrían a salvo a su hijo o hija; solo ellos mismos se mantendrían a través de su justicia.
21 For thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, How much less [should they avail] when my four calamitous judgments, sword and famine and mischievous wild beast and pestilence I have sent against Jerusalem, —to cut off therefrom man and beast?
Porque esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor: ¿Cuánto más cuando envío mis cuatro castigos amargos a Jerusalén, la espada, hambre y bestias malvadas y enfermedades, exterminando al hombre y la bestia?
22 Yet lo! there hath been left therein a remnant of fugitives to be brought forth —sons and daughters— There they are! coming forth unto you, And so ye shall see their way, and their doings, and be consoled over the calamity which I have brought in upon Jerusalem even all that I have brought in upon her.
Pero en verdad, todavía habrá un remanente que estará a salvo, incluso los hijos y las hijas; y saldrán a ti, y verás sus caminos y sus acciones y serás consolado por el mal que he enviado a Jerusalén, incluso sobre todo lo que he enviado en ella.
23 Yea they shall console you, when ye see their way and their doings, — So shall ye know that not without cause, have I done, anything that I have done with her, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Te darán consuelo cuando veas sus caminos y sus obras, y sabrán que no por nada he hecho todas las cosas que he hecho en ella, dice el Señor.
