Ezekiel 11
1 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the east gate of the house of Yahweh which looketh eastward, and lo! in the opening of the gate, twenty-five men, —and I saw in their midst Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah princes of the people.
Et un esprit m’éleva, et me conduisit à la porte orientale de la maison du Seigneur, qui regarde le soleil levant; et voilà à l’entrée de la porte vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis au milieu d’eux Jézonias, fils d’Azur, et Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, princes du peuple.
2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, These, are the men who are devising iniquity, and who are counselling wicked counsel in this city;
Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, voici les hommes qui pensent l’iniquité, et qui forment un conseil pervers en cette ville,
3 who are saying, Not near! let us build houses, — It, is the caldron, and, we, are the flesh!
Disant: N’est-ce pas depuis longtemps que sont bâties des maisons? celle-ci est la chaudière, et nous nous sommes la chair.
4 Therefore, prophesy against them, —prophesy. Son of man.
C’est pourquoi prophétise sur eux, prophétise, fils d’un homme.
5 Then fell upon me the Spirit of Yahweh, and he said unto me Say—Thus, saith Yahweh, Thus have ye said O house of Israel, Yea, the things that come up on your spirit, I, know every one.
Et l’esprit du Seigneur s’empara de moi, et me dit: Parle: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Ainsi vous avez parlé, maison d’Israël, et les pensées de votre cœur, je les connais.
6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, - And have filled her streets with slain.
Vous avez fait mourir un très grand nombre dans cette ville, et vous avez rempli ses rues de tués.
7 Therefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Your slain. whom ye have laid in her midst, They are the flesh, and She is the caldron, —when ye are taken out of her midst.
À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Vos tués, que vous avez mis au milieu de la ville, ceux-là sont la chair, et celle-ci la chaudière; mais je vous tirerai du milieu de cette ville.
8 A sword, have ye feared, — And a sword, will I bring in upon you, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Vous avez craint le glaive, et j’amènerai le glaive sur vous, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
9 So will I take you forth out of her midst, and will deliver you into the hand of foreigners, —and will execute upon you judgments.
Et je vous chasserai du milieu d’elle, et je vous livrerai à la main des ennemis, et j’exercerai sur vous des jugements.
10 By the sword, shall ye fall, Upon the boundary of Israel, will I judge you, —So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.
Vous tomberez sous le glaive; c’est sur les confins d’Israël que je vous jugerai, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
11 This city shall not serve you for a caldron, Neither shall, ye, serve in the midst thereof for flesh, —Near the boundary of Israel, will I judge you,
Cette ville ne sera point pour vous une chaudière, et vous, vous ne serez point comme des chairs au milieu d’elle; c’est dans les confins d’Israël que je vous jugerai.
12 So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh. In whose statutes, ye have not walked And whose appointments, ye have not executed, — But according to the appointments of the nations that are round about you, have ye done.
Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, parce que vous n’avez pas marché dans mes préceptes, et que vous n’avez pas accompli mes ordonnances, mais que vous avez agi suivant les coutumes des nations qui sont autour de vous.
13 And it came to pass as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died, —so then I fell down upon my face and made outcry with a loud voice and said— Alas! My Lord Yahweh! A full end, art thou making of the remnant of Israel?
Et il arriva, lorsque je prophétisais, que Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, mourut; et je tombai sur ma face, criant à haute voix, et je dis: Hélas, hélas, hélas! Seigneur Dieu, c’est vous qui consumez les restes d’Israël?
14 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:
Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
15 Son of man Thine own brethren, thine own brethren the men of thy kindred, even all the house of Israel all of it are they to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far away from Yahweh, To us, it is that the land, hath been given, for a possession!
Fils d’un homme, tes frères, tes frères, les hommes, tes proches, et toute la maison d’Israël, tous ceux à qui les habitants de Jérusalem ont dit: Retirez-vous loin du Seigneur, c’est à nous que la terre a été donnée en possession.
16 Therefore, say, Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Although I have removed them far away among the nations, And although I have dispersed them throughout the lands Yet have I become to them a sanctuary for a little while, in the lands which they have entered
À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Parce que je les ai envoyés loin parmi îles nations, et que je les ai dispersés dans les pays, je leur serai en petite sanctification dans la terre où ils sont venus.
17 Therefore say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Therefore will I assemble you from among the peoples, And gather you out of the lands wherein ye have been dispersed, - And will give you the soil of Israel.
À cause de cela dis: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples, et je vous réunirai des terres dans lesquelles vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai le sol d’Israël.
18 So shall they come in thither, — and take away all her detestable things, and all her abominations, out of her;
Et ils y entreront, et ils ôteront d’elle tous ses scandales et toutes ses abominations.
19 And I will give them another heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you, —And will take away the heart of stone out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh:
Et je leur donnerai un même cœur, et je mettrai un esprit nouveau dans leurs entrailles; et j’ôterai le cœur de pierre de leur chair, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair,
20 To the end that in my statutes, they may walk, And mine appointments, they may keep, and do them, — So shall they become my people, And I will become their God.
Afin qu’ils marchent dans mes préceptes, et qu’ils gardent mes ordonnances, et qu’ils les exécutent; et qu’ils soient mon peuple, et que moi je sois leur Dieu.
21 But as for them who having a heart for their detestable things and for their abominations after their own heart, do walk, Their way upon their own heads, will I render, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
Mais ceux dont le cœur marche après leurs pierres d’achoppement et leurs abominations, je mettrai leur voie sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, the wheels also going in unison with them, — the glory of the God of Israel, being over them above.
Et les chérubins élevèrent leurs ailes, et les roues s’élevèrent avec eux; et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël était sur eux.
23 Thus went up the glory of Yahweh, out from the midst of the city, —and stood on the mountain, which is on the east of the city.
Et la gloire du Seigneur monta du milieu de la cité, et s’arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l’orient de la ville.
24 And, the spirit lifted me up, and brought me to Chaldea unto them of the captivity, in the vision by the Spirit of God, —thus went up from me, the vision which I had seen.
Et un esprit m’éleva, et me conduisit en Chaldée vers la transmigration, dans la vision, par l’esprit de Dieu; et la vision que j’avais vue me fut enlevée.
25 So I spake unto them of the captivity, —all the words of Yahweh which he had shewed me.
Et je dis à la transmigration toutes les choses que le Seigneur m’avait montrées.
