Ezekiel 10
1 Then looked I and lo! in the expanse which was over the head of the cherubim as a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne, appeared over them.
Et je regardai, et voilà que sur le firmament, qui était au-dessus de la tête des chérubins, il y avait comme un saphir, image d'un trône au-dessus d'eux.
2 Then said he unto the man clothed in linen—then said he Go in between the whirling wheels, even under the cherub, and fill both thy hands with live coals of fire from between the cherubim, and throw over the city. So he went in before mine eyes.
Et le Seigneur dit à l'homme revêtu d'une longue robe: Entre au milieu des roues sous les chérubins, et prends à pleines mains des charbons au foyer qui est entre les chérubins, et disperse-les sur la ville. Et il y entra devant moi.
3 Now the cherubim were standing on the right side of the house when the man went in, —and, the, cloud filled the inner court,
Et quand l'homme y entra, les chérubins étaient à droite dans le temple, et une nuée remplit le parvis intérieur.
4 Then arose the glory of Yahweh from off the cherub, unto the threshold of the house, —and the house was filled with the cloud, and the, court, was filled with the brightness of the glory of Yahweh.
Alors la gloire du Seigneur s'éleva, et des chérubins passa au portique du temple, et la nuée remplit le temple; et le parvis était rempli des rayons de la gloire du Seigneur.
5 And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard, as far as the outer court, —like the voice of the Almighty GOD when he speaketh,
Et le bruit des ailes des chérubins s'entendit jusqu'au parvis extérieur, semblable à la voix du Dieu tout-puissant quand il parle.
6 So then it came to pass— when he commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim, then went he in and stood beside the wheel.
Et ceci advint: pendant que le Seigneur donnait ses ordres à l'homme revêtu de la robe sainte, disant: Prends du feu au milieu des roues, parmi les chérubins; l'homme entra et s'arrêta près des roues.
7 And the cherub put forth his hand from between the cherubim unto the fire that was between the cherubim, and took up thereof and gave into the hands of him who was clothed with linen, —who took [it] and went forth,
Et le Seigneur étendit la main sur le feu qui était parmi les chérubins, et il en prit, et il en remplit les mains de l'homme qui était revêtu de la robe sainte; et celui-ci le prit, et il sortit.
8 Now the cherubim appeared to have. the likeness of the hand of a man, under their wings.
Et je vis les chérubins ayant l'image d'une main d'homme sur leurs ailes.
9 Then looked I. and lo! four wheels by the cherubim—one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub, —and the appearance of the wheels was to look upon like a Tarshish stone;
Et je vis, et voilà que les quatre roues étaient arrêtées près des chérubins; chaque roue touchait un chérubin, et l'aspect des roues était comme l'aspect d'une escarboucle.
10 and as for their appearance, one likeness, had they four, -as might be a wheel in the midst of a wheel.
Et, quant à leur aspect; elles avaient toutes les quatre le même aspect, c'était comme si une roue était au milieu d'une roue.
11 When they went, upon their four sides, they went, they turned not when they went, for to the place whithersoever the head turned, after it, they went, they turned not when they went.
Lorsqu'elles allaient, elles allaient de leurs quatre parties, et en allant elles ne se retournaient pas; quel que fut le lieu qu'avait regardé la première tète, elles y allaient, et, en allant, elles ne se retournaient pas.
12 And all their flesh, and their back, and their hands and their wings, and the wheels were full of eyes round about, even their wheels which they four had
Et leurs moyeux, leurs mains, leurs ailes et leurs bandes étaient pleins d'yeux, tout alentour aux quatre roues.
13 To the wheels—to them, was made the cry— O whirling wheel! in mine ears.
Et tandis que j'écoutais, le nom de Gelgel fut donné aux quatre roues.
14 And four faces had each one, —the first face, was the face of a cherub, and, the second face, was the face of a man and the third was the face of a lion. and the fourth, was the face of an eagle.
15 Then arose the cherubim, —the same, was the living one, which I had seen by the river Chebar.
Et les chérubins étaient ces mêmes créatures vivantes que j'avais vues sur le fleuve Chobar.
16 When the cherubim went, then went the wheels beside them, —and when the cherubim lifted up their wings, to arise from off the earth, the wheels themselves turned not from beside them;
Et quand les chérubins allaient, les roues allaient, et elles étaient tout près d'eux; et quand les chérubins étendaient les ailes pour s'élever au- dessus de terre, les roues ne se détournaient point d'eux.
17 when they stood, these stood, and when they arose, these arose with them, —for, the spirit of the living one, was in them.
Et quand ils s'arrêtaient, elles s'arrêtaient; et quand ils s'élevaient, elles s'élevaient avec eux, parce qu'il y avait en elles un esprit de vie.
18 And when the glory of Yahweh went forth from off the threshold of the house, —and stood over the cherubim,
Et la gloire du Seigneur sortit du temple, et alla sur les chérubins.
19 then the cherubim uplifted their wings and arose from the earth before mine eyes as they went forth, the wheels also in unison with them, —and it stood at the opening of the gate of the house of Yahweh that was toward the east, with the glory of the God of Israel over them, above.
Et les chérubins déployèrent leurs ailes, et ils planèrent au-dessus de terre devant moi; lorsqu'ils partirent, les roues étaient toujours auprès d'eux, et ils s'arrêtèrent sur le vestibule de la façade du temple du Seigneur; et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était sur eux.
20 The same, was the living one which I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar, - then knew I that cherubim, they were.
Et c'étaient les créatures vivantes que j'avais vues au-dessous du Dieu d'Israël, vers le fleuve de Chobar, et je reconnus que c'étaient des chérubins.
21 Four faces severally, had each one, and four wings, had each one, —and the likeness of the hands of a man, was under their wings.
Chacun avait quatre faces et huit ailes, et sous les ailes l'image d'une main d'homme.
22 And as for the likeness of their faces, They were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves— every one straight before him, did they go.
Et leurs visages se ressemblaient, et c'étaient les visages que j'avais vus sous la gloire du Dieu d'Israël, vers le fleuve Chobar, et chacun marchait droit devant lui.
