Exodus 5
1 And afterwards, Moses and Aaron went in and said unto Pharaoh, —Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.
१या गोष्टी घडल्यानंतर, मोशे व अहरोन फारोकडे गेले व त्यास म्हणाले, “इस्राएली लोकांचा देव परमेश्वर म्हणतो, माझ्या लोकांनी माझ्यासाठी रानात उत्सव करावा म्हणून त्यांना जाऊ दे.”
2 Then said Pharaoh, Who is Yahweh that I should hearken to his voice, to let Israel go? I know not Yahweh, and certainly. Israel, will I not let go!
२फारो म्हणाला, “हा परमेश्वर कोण आहे? मी त्याचा शब्द का ऐकावा आणि इस्राएलाला जाऊ द्यावे? मी त्या परमेश्वरास ओळखत नाही. म्हणून इस्राएलाला मी जाऊ देणार नाही.”
3 And they said, the God of the Hebrews, hath met with us, —let us go, we pray thee, a journey of three days into the desert and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with sword.
३मग अहरोन व मोशे म्हणाले, “इब्री लोकांचा देव आम्हांशी बोलला आहे. म्हणून आम्हांला रानात तीन दिवसाच्या वाटेवर जाऊ द्यावे आणि तेथे आमचा देव परमेश्वर याल यज्ञार्पण करू द्यावे अशी आम्ही आपणाला विनंती करतो. आणि आम्ही जर असे केले नाही तर तो मरीने किंवा तलवारीने आमच्यावर तुटून पडेल.”
4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore O Moses and Aaron should ye loose the people from their works? Get you to your burdens.
४परंतु मिसराचा राजा फारो त्यांना म्हणाला, “हे मोशे, हे अहरोना, तुम्ही लोकांस काम सोडून जायला का लावता? तुम्ही आपल्या कामावर माघारी चालते व्हा.
5 And Pharaoh said, Lo! many—now, are the people of the land, —and are ye to make them rest from their burdens?
५फारो त्यांना असेही म्हणाला, येथे आता आमच्या देशात खूप इब्री आहेत आणि तुम्ही त्यांना काम करण्यापासून थांबवत आहात.”
6 So then Pharaoh gave command on that day, unto the taskmasters over the people and unto their overseers—saying:
६त्याच दिवशी फारोने मुकादमांना व नायकांना आज्ञा दिली.
7 Ye shall no more give straw unto the people, for making the bricks as heretofore: Let them, go, themselves, so shall they gather for themselves straw:
७तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही लोकांस विटा बनवण्याकरिता आजपर्यंत सतत गवत दिलेले आहे. परंतु आता त्यांना लागणारे गवत त्यांना स्वत: शोधून आणायला सांगा.
8 Nevertheless, the fixed number of bricks, which they have been making heretofore, shall ye lay upon them, ye shall not diminish therefrom, —for idle, they are, on this account, it is that they are making an outcry, saying, We must go our way, we must sacrifice to our God.
८तरी पूर्वी इतक्याच विटा त्यांनी बनवल्या पाहिजेत. त्यामध्ये काही कमी करून स्वीकारू नका. कारण ते आळशी झाले आहेत. म्हणूनच ते ओरड करून म्हणतात, आम्हांला जाण्याची परवानगी दे आणि आमच्या देवाला यज्ञ करू दे.
9 The service must be made heavy on the men that they may labour on it, —and let them not pay regard to words of falsehood.
९तेव्हा त्यांच्यावर अधिक काम लादून त्यांना सतत कामात ठेवा. म्हणजे मग खोट्या बोलण्यावर विश्वास ठेवणार नाहीत.”
10 Then went forth the taskmasters of the people and their overseers, and spake unto the people, —saying, —Thus, saith Pharaoh, I am not going to give you straw,
१०म्हणून लोकांचे मुकादम व नायक लोकांकडे जाऊन म्हणाले, “फारो असे म्हणतो, तुम्हास विटा बनवण्यासाठी लागणारे गवत देणार नाही.
11 Ye yourselves go fetch you straw, of any ye can find, —yet hath there not been diminished from your service a single thing.
११तेव्हा तुम्हास लागणारे गवत तुम्ही स्वत: च आणले पाहिजे. तुमचे काम काही कमी होणार नाही.”
12 So the people dispersed themselves throughout all the land of Egypt, —to gather stubble for straw:
१२म्हणून मग लोक गवत शोधण्याकरता सर्व मिसर देशभर पांगले.
13 the taskmasters, meanwhile, being urgent saying, —Complete your works, The task of a day, in its day, as when the straw was provided.
१३त्यांच्यावर नेमलेले मुकादम त्यांच्याकडून अधिक काम करवून घेऊन पूर्वी इतक्याच विटा तयार करण्याकरता त्यांच्यामागे सतत तगादा लावत.
14 Then were beaten the overseers of the sons of Israel, whom the taskmasters of Pharaoh had set over them saying: Wherefore have ye not completed your task for making bricks, as heretofore, so also, yesterday and, to-day?
१४मिसराच्या मुकादमांनी इस्राएली लोकांवर नायक नेमले होते. त्यांना फारोच्या मुकादमांनी मार देऊन विचारले की, “तुम्ही पूर्वी जेवढ्या विटा बनवत होता तेवढ्या आता का बनवत नाही?”
15 Then came in the overseers of the sons of Israel, and made outcry unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore shouldst thou do thus to thy servants?
१५मग इस्राएली नायक तक्रार घेऊन फारोकडे गेले व म्हणाले, “आम्ही जे तुमचे सेवक त्या आमच्याशी तुम्ही अशा प्रकारे का वागत आहा?
16 No straw, is given to thy servants, yet bricks, —they keep saying to us—make ye! And lo, thy servants, are beaten—thou dost, therefore, wrong thy people.
१६तुम्ही आम्हांला गवत देत नाही, परंतु पूर्वी इतक्याच विटा बनवण्याचा हुकूम करता, आणि आता आपल्या दासांना मार मिळत आहे. पण सारा दोष आपल्या लोकांचा आहे.”
17 But he said: Idle, ye are—idle, on this account, are, ye, saying, We must take our journey, we must sacrifice to Yahweh.
१७फारो म्हणाला, “तुम्ही आळशी आहात, म्हणूनच तुम्ही म्हणता, आम्हांला परमेश्वरास यज्ञ करायला जाऊ देण्याची परवानगी दे.
18 Now, therefore, go labour, but, straw, shall not be given you, —yet the tale of bricks, shall ye render.
१८आता आपल्या कामावर माघारी जा. तुम्हास गवत काही मिळायचे नाही, परंतु पूर्वीप्रमानेच विटा तुम्ही केल्या पाहिजेत.
19 Then did the overseers of the sons of Israel see themselves to be in an evil case, when it was said, —Ye shall not diminish from your bricks—the task of a day, in its day
१९आपण संकटात आहोत हे इस्राएली नायकांना समजले. कारण पूर्वी इतक्याच विटा व रोजचे काम त्यांना शक्य नव्हते.”
20 So they fell upon Moses and upon Aaron, stationing themselves to meet them, —as they came forth from Pharaoh;
२०फारोच्या भेटीनंतर परत जाताना त्यांना वाटेत मोशे व अहरोन भेटले;
21 and they said unto them, Yahweh look upon you and judge, —in that ye have made us odious in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, putting a sword into their hand to slay us.
२१तेव्हा ते मोशे व अहरोन ह्यांना म्हणाले, “परमेश्वर तुम्हांकडे पाहो व तुम्हास शिक्षा करो. कारण फारो व त्याचे सेवक यांच्या दृष्टीने तुम्ही आम्हांला अपमानकारक केले आहे. आम्हांला मारून टाकण्यासाठी तुम्ही त्यांच्या हातात जणू तलवारच दिली आहे.”
22 And Moses returned unto Yahweh and said, —O My Lord wherefore hast thou caused harm to this people? Wherefore now didst thou send me?
२२मग मोशेने परमेश्वराकडे परत जाऊन प्रार्थना करून म्हटले, “प्रभू, तू या लोकांस का त्रास देत आहेस? पहिली गोष्ट म्हणजे तू मला का पाठवलेस?
23 seeing that from what time I came in unto Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done harm to this people, and thou hast not delivered, thy people,
२३मी तुझ्या नावाने बोलण्यासाठी फारोकडे आलो, तेव्हापासून तो या लोकांस त्रास देत आहे. आणि तू आपल्या लोकांस मुक्त तर मुळीच केले नाहीस.”
