Exodus 30
1 And thou shalt make an altar, for burning incense, of acacia wood, shalt thou make it:
Et tu feras un autel pour faire fumer l’encens; tu le feras de bois de sittim;
2 a cubit, the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof four square, shall it be, —and two cubits, the height thereof, of the same, [shall be] the horns thereof,
sa longueur sera d’une coudée, et sa largeur d’une coudée; il sera carré; et sa hauteur sera de deux coudées; ses cornes seront [tirées] de lui.
3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof, -and thou shalt make to it a border of gold round about.
Et tu le plaqueras d’or pur, le dessus et ses parois, tout autour, et ses cornes. Et tu lui feras un couronnement d’or tout autour;
4 And, two rings of gold, shalt thou make to it, under the border thereof upon the two corners thereof, shalt thou make them on the two sides thereof, —so shall they become receptacles for the staves, to lift it therewith.
et tu lui feras deux anneaux d’or au-dessous de son couronnement, sur ses deux côtés; tu les feras à ses deux coins, et ils serviront à recevoir les barres, pour le porter par elles;
5 And thou shalt make the staves of acacia wood, —and overlay them with gold.
et tu feras les barres de bois de sittim, et tu les plaqueras d’or.
6 And thou shalt place it before the veil, which is by the ark of the testimony, —before the propitiatory which is upon the testimony, where I will meet thee.
Et tu le mettras vis-à-vis du voile qui est devant l’arche du témoignage, vis-à-vis du propitiatoire qui est sur le témoignage, où je me rencontrerai avec toi.
7 And Aaron shall burn thereon fragrant incense, —morning by morning, when he trimmeth the lamps, shall he burn it;
Et Aaron y fera fumer l’encens des drogues odoriférantes; chaque matin, il le fera fumer quand il arrangera les lampes.
8 and, when Aaron lighteth the lamps, between the evenings, shall he burn it, —a continual incense before Yahweh, to your generations.
Et quand Aaron allumera les lampes, entre les deux soirs, il le fera fumer, – un encens continuel devant l’Éternel, en vos générations.
9 Ye shall not cause to ascend thereupon strange incense, nor an ascending-sacrifice, nor a meal-offering, —and a drink offering, shall ye not pour out thereupon.
Vous n’y brûlerez pas d’encens étranger, ni d’holocauste, ni d’offrande de gâteau; et vous n’y verserez pas de libation.
10 But Aaron shall put a propitiatory-covering upon the horns thereof, once in the year: of the blood of the sin-bearer for propitiatory-coverings, once in the year, shall he put a propitiatory-covering thereupon to your generations, most holy, it is to Yahweh.
Et Aaron fera propitiation pour les cornes de l’autel une fois l’an; il fera propitiation pour l’autel une fois l’an, en vos générations, avec le sang du sacrifice de péché des propitiations. C’est une chose très sainte à l’Éternel.
11 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
12 When thou takest the sum of the sons of Israel, by their numberings, then shall they give every man a propitiatory-covering for his soul to Yahweh, when they are numbered, —that there may be among them no plague when they are numbered.
Quand tu relèveras le nombre des fils d’Israël selon leur dénombrement, ils donneront chacun une rançon de son âme à l’Éternel, lorsque tu en feras le dénombrement, afin qu’il n’y ait pas de plaie au milieu d’eux quand tu en feras le dénombrement.
13 This, shall they give—every one that passeth over to them that have been numbered—a half-shekel by the shekel of the sanctuary, —the shekel is twenty gerahs—the half-shekel, shall be a heave-offering to Yahweh.
Voici ce que donneront tous ceux qui passeront par le dénombrement: un demi-sicle, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, à 20 guéras le sicle, un demi-sicle en offrande à l’Éternel.
14 All who pass over to the numbered, from twenty years old and upwards, shall give the heave-offering of Yahweh.
Tous ceux qui passeront par le dénombrement, depuis l’âge de 20 ans et au-dessus, donneront l’offrande de l’Éternel.
15 The rich, shall not give more, and the poor, shall not give less, than the half-shekel, —when they give the heave-offering of Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over your souls.
Le riche n’augmentera pas, et le pauvre ne diminuera pas le demi-sicle, lorsque vous donnerez l’offrande de l’Éternel pour faire propitiation pour vos âmes.
16 So then thou shalt take the silver for the propitiatory-coverings from the sons of Israel, and shalt expend it upon the service of the tent of meeting, —thus shall it be for the sons of Israel as a memorial before Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over your souls.
Et tu prendras des fils d’Israël l’argent de la propitiation, et tu le donneras pour le service de la tente d’assignation, et il sera pour les fils d’Israël un mémorial devant l’Éternel, afin de faire propitiation pour vos âmes.
17 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
18 And thou shalt make a laver of bronze, and its stand of bronze for bathing, —and thou shalt place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and shalt put therein water.
Tu feras aussi une cuve d’airain, et son soubassement d’airain, pour s’y laver; et tu la mettras entre la tente d’assignation et l’autel, et tu y mettras de l’eau;
19 So shall Aaron and his sons bathe thereat, —their hands, and their feet.
et Aaron et ses fils y laveront leurs mains et leurs pieds.
20 When they enter the tent of meeting, they shall bathe with water so shall they not die, —or when they approach unto the altar to minister, to burn as incense an altar-flame to Yahweh:
Quand ils entreront dans la tente d’assignation, ils se laveront avec de l’eau, afin qu’ils ne meurent pas, ou quand ils s’approcheront de l’autel pour faire le service, pour faire fumer le sacrifice fait par feu à l’Éternel.
21 so then they shall bathe their hands and their feet and shall not die, —and it shall be to them an age-abiding statute, to him and to his seed to their generations.
Ils laveront leurs mains et leurs pieds, afin qu’ils ne meurent pas; et ce leur sera un statut perpétuel, pour Aaron et pour sa semence, en leurs générations.
22 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
23 Thou, therefore, take to thee—principal spices, —self-flowing myrrh, five hundred, and fragrant cinnamon, half as much, two hundred and fifty, and, fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty;
Toi, prends des aromates les plus excellents: de la myrrhe franche, 500 [sicles], et du cinnamome aromatique, moitié autant, 250 [sicles], et du roseau aromatique, 250,
24 and, cassia, five hundred, by the shekel of the sanctuary, —and, oil olive, a hin.
et de la casse, 500, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, et un hin d’huile d’olive.
25 And thou shalt make it an oil for holy anointing, a compounded perfume the work of a perfumer, —an oil for holy anointing, shall it be.
Et tu en feras une huile pour l’onction sainte, une préparation composée, d’ouvrage de parfumeur: ce sera l’huile de l’onction sainte.
26 And thou shalt anoint therewith the tent of meeting, —and the ark of the testimony;
Et tu en oindras la tente d’assignation, et l’arche du témoignage,
27 and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand, and its utensils, —and the incense altar,
et la table et tous ses ustensiles, et le chandelier et ses ustensiles, et l’autel de l’encens,
28 and the altar for the ascending-sacrifice, and all its utensils, -and the laver, and its stand.
et l’autel de l’holocauste et tous ses ustensiles, et la cuve et son soubassement;
29 So shalt thou hallow them, and they shall be most holy, —whosoever toucheth them, shall be holy.
et tu les sanctifieras, et ils seront très saints; quiconque les touchera sera saint.
30 Aaron also, and his sons, shalt thou anoint, —so shalt thou hallow them to minister as priests unto me.
Et tu oindras Aaron et ses fils, et tu les sanctifieras pour exercer la sacrificature devant moi.
31 And unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak, saying, An oil for holy anointing, shall this be to me, to your generations.
– Et tu parleras aux fils d’Israël, disant: Ce sera pour moi l’huile de l’onction sainte en vos générations;
32 Upon the flesh of a common man, shall it not be poured, and according to the proportions thereof, shall ye not make any like it, —holy, it is, holy, shall it be to you.
on n’en versera pas sur la chair de l’homme, et vous n’en ferez point de semblable dans ses proportions: elle est sainte, elle vous sera sainte.
33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, and whosoever bestoweth thereof upon a stranger, shall be cut off from among his people.
Quiconque en composera de semblable, et en mettra sur un étranger, sera retranché de ses peuples.
34 Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Take to thee aromatic spices stacte and onycha, and galbanum, —aromatic spices, and pure frankincense, —weight for weight, shall it be.
Et l’Éternel dit à Moïse: Prends des drogues odoriférantes, du stacte, et de la coquille odorante, et du galbanum, – des drogues odoriférantes, et de l’encens pur: de tout, à poids égal;
35 And thou shalt make of it an incense, a perfume the work of a perfumer, —salted, pure, holy.
et tu en feras un encens composé, d’ouvrage de parfumeur, salé, pur, saint.
36 And thou shalt beat some of it to powder, and place thereof before the testimony, in the tent of meeting, where I am to meet with thee, —most holy, shall it be to you.
Et tu en pileras très fin, et tu en mettras sur le devant du témoignage dans la tente d’assignation, où je me rencontrerai avec toi: ce vous sera une chose très sainte.
37 And the incense which thou shalt make, according to the proportions thereof, ye shall not make for yourselves, —holy, shall it be to thee, to Yahweh.
Et quant à l’encens que tu feras, vous n’en ferez point pour vous selon les mêmes proportions: il sera, pour toi, saint, [consacré] à l’Éternel.
38 Whosoever shall make like it, to smell of it shall be cut off from among his people.
Quiconque en fera de semblable pour le flairer, sera retranché de ses peuples.
