< Exodus 28 >
1 Thou thyself, therefore bring near unto thee—Aaron thy brother and his sons with him out of the midst of the sons of Israel, that they may minister as priests unto me, —Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar sons of Aaron.
“Epi fè Aaron, frè ou a vin pre ou menm, avèk fis pa li yo avè l, pami fis Israël yo pou sèvi kòm prèt pou Mwen—Aaron, Nadab, avèk Abihu, Éléazar, ak Ithamar, fis Aaron yo.
2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, —for glory and for beauty.
“Ou va fè vètman sen pou Aaron, frè ou a, pou onore li, e pou l byen parèt.
3 Thou thyself, therefore, shalt speak unto all the wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, —and they shall make Aaron’s garments, to hallow him for ministering as priest unto me.
Ou va pale avèk tout moun ki kapab yo, sa yo ke M te bay yon lespri sajès, pou fè vètman Aaron yo pou konsakre li, pou li kapab sèvi Mwen kòm prèt.
4 These, therefore are the garments which they shall make—a breastpiece, and an ephod and a robe, and a tunic of checker work, a turban and a girdle, —so shall they make holy garments for Aaron thy brother and for his sons, for ministering as priests unto me.
“Sa yo se vètman ke yo va fè: yon pyès pou kouvri lestomak yo, yon efòd, avèk yon gwo manto, yon tinik avèk yon modèl kare, yon tiban pou tèt la, yon sentiwon ki fèt an twal. Yo va fè vètman sen yo pou Aaron, frè ou a ak fis li yo, pou li kapab sèvi kòm prèt pou Mwen.
5 They themselves, therefore, shall take the gold, and the blue and the purple, —and the crimson, and the fine linen.
Yo va pran lò a avèk twal ble, mov, wouj, ak twal fin blan an.
6 And they shall make the ephod, —of gold, blue and purple crimson and fine-twined linen, the work of a skilful weaver.
“Yo va osi fè efòd la avèk lò, avèk twal ble, mov, wouj, ak twal fen blanc ki byen tòde, travay a yon mèt ouvriye byen prepare.
7 Two joining shoulderpieces, shall there be to it upon the two extremities thereof that it may be joined together,
Li va gen de pyès zepòl ki jwenn nan pwent li yo, pou li kapab jwenn ansanm.
8 And the curious band for fastening it, that is upon it, like the work thereof of the same, shall it be, —of gold blue and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen,
Bann tise ki fèt avèk yon bòdi byen prepare sou li a, va menm jan ak kalite travay a li menm nan, avèk menm twal la: an lò, ble, mov, e wouj, avèk twal fen blan byen tòde a.
9 And thou shalt take two onyx stones, —and engrave upon them the names of the sons of Israel:
“Ou va pran de pyè oniks, e grave sou yo non a fis Israël yo.
10 six of their names, on the one stone, —and the names of the six that remain, on the second stone according to their births:
Sis nan non yo va sou yon pyè, e sis ki rete yo sou lòt pyè a, selon lòd nesans yo.
11 with the work of a stone engraver, like seal-ring engravings, shalt thou engrave the two stones, after the names of the sons of Israel, —to be encircled with settings of gold, shalt thou make them.
Ak travay a yon mèt grave sou bijou, tankou fèt pou yon so, ou va grave sou pyè yo selon non a fis Israël yo. Ou va monte monti fèt an lò yo.
12 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, as stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, —so shall Aaron bear their names before Yahweh upon his two shoulders, for a memorial.
13 And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
Ou va pozisyone l sou yon monti fèt an lò,
14 and two chains of pure gold, like cord, shalt thou make them, of wreathen work, and thou shalt put the wreathen chains on the ouches.
ak de chèn an lò pi, Ou va fè yo tankou èv kòd ki tòde, e ou va mete chèn trese yo sou monti lò yo.
15 And thou shalt make a breastpiece for giving sentence the work of a skilful weaver, like the work of the ephod, shalt thou make it, of gold, blue, and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen, shalt thou make it.
“Ou va fè yon pyès jijman pou lestomak, èv a yon mèt ouvriye; tankou èv efòd la, ou va fè li: avèk lò, twal ble, mov, e wouj, tòde byen fen ou va fè li.
16 Four-square, shall it be double, —a span the length thereof and a span the breadth thereof.
Li va kare, plwaye doub, yon epann lajè yon men louvri nan lajè, e yon epann nan longè.
17 And thou shalt set therein a setting of stones, four rows of stones, —one row—a sardius, a topaz and an emerald, the first row;
“Ou va monte sou li kat ranje nan pyè yo; premye ranje a va yon ranje avèk woubi, topaz ak emwod;
18 and the second row a carbuncle a sapphire and a diamond;
epi dezyèm ranje a yon tikwaz, yon safi, avèk yon dyaman;
19 and the third row an opal, an agate, and an amethyst;
epi twazyèm ranje a, yon opal, yon agat, ak yon ametis;
20 and the fourth row, a Tarshish stone, a sardonyx, and a jasper, —enclosed with gold, shall they be when they are set.
epi nan katriyèm ranje a, yon krizolit, yon oniks, avèk yon jasp; yo va plase nan monti an lò yo.
21 And the stones shall be after the names of the sons of Israel—twelve, after their names, —as the engravings of a seal-ring everyone after his name, shall they be, for the twelve tribes,
Pyè yo va selon non fis Israël yo: douz selon non pa yo. Yo va grave yo tankou sa ki fèt nan selil yo, yo chak selon non pa yo pou douz tribi yo.
22 And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, chains like cords of wreathen work, —of pure gold.
“Ou va fè sou pyès lestomak la, chèn tankou kòd ki tòde, yon zèv ki fèt avèk lò pi.
23 And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, two rings of gold, —and thou shalt place the two rings, upon the two ends of the breastpiece.
Ou va fè nan pyès lestomak la de wondèl an lò, e ou va mete de wondèl yo nan de pwent yo nan pyès lestomak la.
24 And thou shalt hang the two wreathen chains of gold upon the two rings, —upon the ends of the breastpiece;
Ou va mete de kòd lò yo nan de wondèl yo nan pwent a pyès lestomak yo.
25 and the other two ends of the two wreathen chains, shalt thou fasten upon the two ouches, so shalt thou hang them upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, in the forefront thereof.
Ou va mete lòt de pwent kòd yo nan de monti fèt byen fen yo, e mete yo sou pyès zepòl a efòd la, pa devan li.
26 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastpiece upon the border thereof, which is on the side of the ephod inwards.
“Ou va fè de wondèl an lò e ou va plase yo sou de pwent pyès lestomak yo, akote li, ki se bò kote anndan efòd la.
27 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and place them upon the two shoulderpieces of the ephod beneath, on the front of the face thereof, over against its joining, above the curious band of the ephod:
Ou va mete de wondèl an lò e ou va mete yo nan pati anba pyès efòd yo, pa devan li, toupre plas kote li jwenn nan, anwo bann tise byen fen nan efòd la.
28 that they may bind the breastpiece by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue, so that it may remain upon the curious band of the ephod, and the breastpiece not be removed from of the ephod.
Yo va atache pyès lestomak la pa wondèl li yo ak wondèl efòd yo avèk yon kòd an ble, pou li kapab sou bann nan ki trese byen fen nan efòd la, pou pyès lestomak la pa vin detache nan efòd la.
29 So shall Aaron bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece for giving sentence upon his heart when he goeth into the holy place, —for a memorial before Yahweh continually.
“Aaron va pote non a fis Israël yo nan pyès lestomak jijman an sou kè li lè l ap antre nan lye sen an, kòm yon souvni pou tout tan devan SENYÈ a.
30 Thus shalt thou place, in the breastpiece for giving sentence, the lights and the perfections, so shall they be upon the heart of Aaron when he goeth in before Yahweh, —so shall Aaron bear the sentence of the sons of Israel, upon his heart before Yahweh continually.
Ou va mete nan pyès lestomak jijman an, Ourim nan avèk Toumim nan, e yo va sou kè Aaron lè l ap antre devan SENYÈ a. Konsa, Aaron va pote jijman a fis Israël yo sou kè li tout tan devan SENYÈ a.
31 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod wholly of blue;
“Ou va fè tout manto efòd la an ble.
32 and the opening for his head shall be in the midst thereof, —a border, shall there be to the opening thereof round about the work of a weaver, like the opening of a coat of mail, shall there be to it, it must not be rent.
Va genyen yon ouvèti nan tèt anwo li, nan mitan li. Ozanviwon ouvèti li va genyen yon bòdi ak zèv trese, tankou ouvèti nan yon pwotèj batay, pou li pa chire.
33 And thou shalt make upon the skirts thereof pomegranates of blue and purple and crimson, upon the skirts thereof round about—and bells of gold in the midst of them round about:
Ou va fè nan woulèt li grenad ak materyèl ble, mov, e wouj, toutotou woulèt li, ak klòch an lò antre yo chak toutotou:
34 a bell of gold and a pomegranate, a bell of gold, and a pomegranate, —upon the skirts of the robe, round about.
yon klòch an lò ak yon grenad, yon klòch an lò ak yon grenad, toutotou woulèt manto a.
35 And it shall be upon Aaron, for ministering, —so shall be heard the sound of him—when he goeth into the holy place, before Yahweh, and cometh out, and dieth not.
Li va sou Aaron lè l ap fè sèvis li; epi son li va tande lè l ap antre e soti nan lye sen an devan SENYÈ a, jis pou li pa mouri.
36 And thou shalt make a burnished plate, of pure gold, —and shalt engrave thereupon, like the engravings of a seal-ring, Holiness to Yahweh.
“Ou va osi fè yon plak avèk lò pi, e li va grave sou li, jan li grave a yon so: “Sen a SENYÈ a.”
37 And thou shalt put it upon a cord of blue, so shall it be upon the turban, —upon the forefront of the turban, shall it be.
Ou va tache li avèk yon kòd ble, e li va rete sou tiban an; li va pa devan tiban an.
38 So shall it be upon the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the hallowed things, which the sons of Israel shall hallow, for all their hallowed gift, —and it shall be upon his forehead continually, that there may be acceptance for them before Yahweh.
Li va sou fwon Aaron, e Aaron va retire inikite nan bagay sen ke fis Israël yo konsakre yo, selon tout ofrann sen pa yo; epi li va toujou sou fwon li, pou yo kapab aksepte devan SENYÈ a.
39 And thou shalt weave, in checker work the tunic of fine linen, and shalt make a turban of fine linen, —and, a girdle, shalt thou make the work of an embroiderer.
Ou va trese yon tinik avèk modèl kare avèk twal fen blan, ou va fè yon tiban avèk twal fen blan, e ou va fè yon sentiwon bwode, èv a yon bòs tiseran.
40 And, for the sons of Aaron, shalt thou make tunics, and shalt make for them girdles, —and caps, shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
Pou fis Aaron yo ou va fè tinik yo; ou va osi fè sentiwon pou yo. Ou va fè chapo pou yo, pou onore yo, e pou fè yo byen parèt.
41 And thou shalt clothe therewith Aaron thy brother, and his sons, with him, —and shalt anoint them and install them, and hallow them, so shall they minister as priests unto me.
Ou va mete yo sou Aaron, frè ou a, sou fis li yo avèk li, epi ou va vide lwil sou yo pou fè òdonasyon yo e konsakre yo, pou yo kab sèvi Mwen kòm prèt.
42 And thou shalt make for them breeches of linen, to cover their unseemliness, from the loins even unto the thighs, shall they be;
“Ou va fè pou yo pantalon avèk len pou kouvri nidite yo. Yo va sòti nan ren yo jis rive nan kwis yo.
43 so shall they be upon Aaron and upon his sons, when they go into the tent of meeting, or when they approach unto the altar, to minister in the holy place, lest they bear iniquity, and die, —a statute age-abiding, to him and to his seed after him.
Yo va sou Aaron avèk fis li yo lè y ap antre nan tant reyinyon an, oswa lè y ap pwoche lotèl la pou fè sèvis nan lye sen an, pou yo pa atire koupabilite, e mouri. “Sa va yon règleman pou tout tan pou li, e pou desandan apre li yo.”
