< Exodus 19 >

1 In the third month, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day, came they into the desert of Sinai:
Ke len se meet in malem se aktolu tukun mwet Israel som liki facl Egypt, elos tuku nu yen mwesis Sinai.
2 then was it that they brake up out of Rephidim and came into the desert of Sinai, and encamped in the desert, —yea Israel encamped there before the mountain.
Elos som liki Rephidim, ac utyak nu yen mwesis Sinai, ac tulokunak lohm nuknuk selos sisken Fineol Sinai.
3 And when Moses, had gone up unto God, then called Yahweh unto him out of the mountain saying, Thus, shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, And tell the sons of Israel:
Ac Moses el fanyak nu fineol uh in osun nu sin God. LEUM GOD El pang nu sel fineol uh me, ac fahk nu sel tuh elan fahk nu sin mwet Israel, fwilin tulik natul Jacob:
4 Ye, have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, —And how I bare you upon wings of eagles, And brought you in unto myself: —
“Kowos liye ma nga, LEUM GOD, tuh oru nu sin mwet Egypt, ac ke nga tuh srukkowosyak oana sie won eagle el ac tapukak ma fusr natul fin posohksok lal, ac nga uskowosme nu yuruk.
5 Now, therefore, if ye will, indeed hearken, to my voice, And keep my covenant, Then shall ye be mine as a treasure beyond all the peoples, For, mine, is all the earth;
Kowos fin akosyu ac liyaung wulela luk, kowos ac fah mwet luk sifacna. Faclu nufon ma luk, tuh kowos fah mwet solla luk.
6 But, ye, shall be mine, As a kingdom of priests, And a holy nation. These, are the words, which thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel.
Kowos sie mutunfacl sriyukla nu sik mukena, ac kowos fah kulansupweyu oana mwet tol. Moses, kom in fahk ma inge nu sin mwet Israel.”
7 Then came Moses, and called for the elders of the people, —and put before them all these words which Yahweh had commanded him.
Ouinge Moses el tufokla ac pangoneni mwet kol lun mwet uh nu sie, ac fahk nu selos ma nukewa ma LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sel.
8 And all the people responded together and said, All that Yahweh hath spoken, will we do. And Moses took back the words of the people, unto Yahweh.
Na mwet nukewa tukeni topuk, “Kut fah oru ma nukewa ma LEUM GOD El fahk,” ac Moses el fahkak ma inge nu sin LEUM GOD.
9 Then said Yahweh unto Moses: Lo! I, am coming unto thee in the veiling of cloud, in order that the people may hear when I speak with thee, moreover also, that, in thee, they may trust to times age-abiding. Then told Moses the words of the people unto Yahweh.
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Moses, “Nga fah tuku nu yurum ke sie pukunyeng matoltol, tuh mwet uh fah ku in lohng ke nga kaskas nu sum, ac elos fah lulalfongi kom ingela nu tok.” Moses el fahk nu sin LEUM GOD top lun mwet uh,
10 And Yahweh said unto Moses—Go unto the people, and thou shalt hallow them to-day, and to-morrow, —and they shall wash their clothes;
ac LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel, “Fahla nu yurin mwet uh ac fahk tuh elos in akmutalyalos sifacna misenge ac lutu. Elos enenu in ohlla nuknuk lalos
11 and shall be ready, by the third day, —for on the third day, will Yahweh come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai.
ac in akola nu ke len se aktolu. Ke len sac nga fah oatui nu Fineol Sinai, acn se ma mwet nukewa ku in liyeyu we.
12 So then thou shalt set bounds for the people round about saying, Take heed to yourselves—that ye go not up into the mountain, nor touch the boundary thereof, whosoever toucheth the mountain, shall, surely die.
Akilenya sie masrol rauneak eol uh tuh mwet uh in tia alukela, ac fahk nu selos in tia fanyak nu fineol uh, ku tuku fototo nu kac. Kutena mwet fin longya eol uh, el ac fah anwuki.
13 No hand shall touch it but he shall be, surely stoned, or be, surely shot, whether beast or man, he shall not live, —When the ram’s horn soundeth, they themselves, shall come up within the mount,
Ac fah tatngal el ku pisrkiyuk el, ac in wangin poun mwet kahlilya. Ac orek ouinge nu sin kewana, mwet ac kosro — elos enenu na in anwuki. Tusruktu pacl se ukuk uh kas, na mwet uh ku in kalukyang nu ke eol uh.”
14 Then Moses went down out of the mount, unto the people, —and hallowed the people, and they washed their clothes.
Na Moses el oatume liki fineol uh, ac fahk nu sin mwet uh elos in akmutalyalos ac akola nu ke alu. Ke ma inge elos ohlla nuknuk lalos,
15 And he said unto the people, Be ready, by the third day, —do not approach a woman.
ac Moses el fahk nu selos, “Kowos in akola nu ke len se aktolu, ac kowos in tia oan yurin mutan ke len tolu inge.”
16 And it came to pass on the third day, when the morning had come, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a heavy cloud upon the mount, and the sound of a horn, loud exceedingly, —and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
Ke lotutang in len se aktolu, oasr pulahl ac sarom, ac sie pukunyeng matoltol sikyak fineol uh, ac pusren mwe ukuk na yohk pusra lohngyuk. Mwet nukewa in nien aktuktuk uh elos rarrar ke sangeng.
17 And Moses brought forth the people, to meet God out of the camp, —and they stationed themselves in the lower part of the mount,
Na Moses el pwanulosla liki nien aktuktuk selos in osun nu sin God, ac elos tu pe eol uh.
18 And Mount Sinai, smoked, all over, because Yahweh had come down thereon in fire, —and the smoke thereof went up as the smoke of a furnace, and all the mountain trembled exceedingly.
Fineol Sinai nufon nukla ke kulasr, mweyen LEUM GOD El oatui nu fac ke e. Kulasr kac fosryak oana kulasr ke funyu lulap, ac eol soko ah nufon arulana kusrusryak.
19 And as oft as the sound of the horn went on and became exceeding loud, Moses, spake and, God, responded to him with a voice.
Pusren mwe ukuk uh yokyokelik na. Moses el kaskas, ac God El topkol ke pulahl.
20 Thus came Yahweh down upon Mount Sinai unto the top of the mount, —and Yahweh called Moses unto the top of the mount, and Moses went up.
LEUM GOD El oatume nu fin mangon Fineol Sinai, ac pangnol Moses nu fin mangon eol uh. Moses el fanyak som
21 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Go down, adjure the people, —lest they press through unto Yahweh to see, and so there fall from among them a multitude.
ac LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel, “Oatula ac sensenkakin mwet uh in tia alukela masrol sac in tuku liyeyu. Elos fin oru, pus selos ac misa.
22 Yea, even the priests who do approach unto Yahweh, must hallow themselves, —lest Yahweh break in upon them.
Finne mwet tol su tuku apkuran nu yuruk, elos enenu in akmutalyalos sifacna, mweyen elos fin tia, nga fah kaelos.”
23 And Moses said unto Yahweh, The people cannot come up into Mount Sinai, —for, thou thyself, hast adjured us saying: Set bounds to the mountain and hallow it.
Moses el fahk nu sin LEUM GOD, “Mwet uh tia ku in fanyak, mweyen kom sapkin nu sesr in akilen mutal lun eol uh, ac filiya sie masrol ah rauneak.”
24 And Yahweh said unto him—Away, down, then shalt thou come up, thou and Aaron with thee, —but as for the priests and the people, let it not be that they press through to come up unto Yahweh lest he break in upon them.
LEUM GOD El topuk, “Oatula ac usalu Aaron elan wi kom folok. Tusruktu mwet tol ac mwet uh fah tiana alukela masrol sac in fanyak nu yuruk. Elos fin oru, nga fah kaelos.”
25 So Moses went down unto the people, —and said [these things] unto them.
Ouinge Moses el oatula nu yurin mwet uh ac fahkang ma LEUM GOD El tuh fahk nu sel.
