Exodus 14
1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ
2 Speak unto the sons of Israel, that they turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, —before Baal-zephon, over against it, shall ye encamp, by the sea.
೨“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಪೀಹಹೀರೋತಿನ ಪೂರ್ವಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಗ್ದೋಲಿಗೂ ಕೆಂಪು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ನಡುವೆ ಬಾಳ್ಚೆಫೋನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು. ಅದರ ಎದುರಾಗಿಯೇ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಅವರು ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
3 Then will Pharaoh say, of the sons of Israel, Entangled, they are in the land, —the desert hath closed in upon them.
೩ಫರೋಹನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, ‘ಅವರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮರುಭೂಮಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತುವರಿದಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
4 So will I let the heart of Pharaoh wax bold, and he will pursue them, that I may get me honour over Pharaoh, and over all his forces, and the Egyptians shall know, that I, am Yahweh. And they did so.
೪ನಾನು ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವೆನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಬರುವನು. ಆಗ ನಾನು ಫರೋಹನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವನ ಸೈನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಹಿಮೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು. ‘ನಾನೇ ಯೆಹೋವನು’ ಎಂದು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬರುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
5 And it was told the king of Egypt, that the people had fled, —and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people, and they said—What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
೫ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಓಡಿಹೋದರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಫರೋಹನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಪರಿವಾರದವರ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕಠಿಣಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಅವರು, “ಇದೇನು ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು? ನಮಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟೆವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
6 So he yoked his chariot, —and his people, took he with him.
೬ಆಗ ಫರೋಹನು ತನ್ನ ರಥಬಲವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಭಟರೊಡನೆ ಹೊರಟನು.
7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, —with warriors in every one.
೭ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಆರುನೂರು ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಹೋದನು. ಆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಸಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
8 And Yahweh let the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt wax bold, and he pursued the sons of Israel, —when the sons of Israel, were going out with a high hand.
೮ಯೆಹೋವನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
9 So the Egyptians pursued them and overtook them, encamping by the sea—all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his forces, —by Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.
೯ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಅಂದರೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳೂ, ರಥಗಳೂ, ಅವನ ರಾಹುತರೂ, ಸೈನ್ಯದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊರಟು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಪೀಹಹೀರೋತಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಾಳ್ಚೆಫೋನಿನ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅವರ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
10 Now when, Pharaoh, had drawn near, the sons of Israel lifted up their eyes, and lo! the Egyptians, moving along after them and they feared greatly, and the sons of Israel made outcry unto Yahweh.
೧೦ಫರೋಹನು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಬಹಳ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
11 Then said they unto Moses, Was it because there were no graves in Egypt, that thou didst fetch us to die in the desert? What is this thou hast done to us, bringing us forth out of Egypt?
೧೧ಅವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, “ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದೆಯೋ? ಯಾಕೆ ನೀನು ನಮಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದೆ?
12 Is not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians, —for it is better for us, to serve the Egyptians, than to die in the desert?
೧೨ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ, ‘ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಡ. ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರುವೆವು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ. ನಾವು ಈ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ಮೇಲಲ್ಲವೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
13 And Moses said unto the people—Do not fear, stand still and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will work for you to-day, —for as for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall not again see them any more to times age-abiding.
೧೩ಆದರೆ ಮೋಶೆ ಆ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅಂಜಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನೋಡುವ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
14 Yahweh, will fight for you, —and, ye, shall forbear.
೧೪ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವನು. ನೀವಂತು ಸುಮ್ಮನೇ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
15 And Yahweh said unto Moses, What outcry wouldst thou make unto me? Speak unto the sons of Israel, that they go forward;
೧೫ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವುದೇನು? ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು.
16 and, thou, lift high thy staff and stretch forth thy hand over the sea and cleave it asunder, —that the sons of Israel may enter into the midst of the sea on dry ground;
೧೬ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಭಾಗಿಸು, ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣಗಿದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವರು.
17 and, I, behold me letting the heart of the Egyptians wax bold, that they may enter after them, —that I may get me honour over Pharaoh and over his forces, over his chariots, and over his horsemen,
೧೭ನಾನಂತೂ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವರು ಇವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವರು. ಆಗ ನಾನು ಫರೋಹನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೈನ್ಯದವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ರಥಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು.
18 And the Egyptians shall know, that, I, am Yahweh, —when I have gotten me honour over Pharaoh, over his chariots and over his horsemen.
೧೮ನಾನು ಫರೋಹನನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವನ ರಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಕುದುರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ನಂತರ ನಾನೇ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು” ಎಂದನು.
19 And the messenger of God who was going on before the camp of Israel removed, and came on behind them, —and the pillar of cloud removed from before them, and stood behind them;
೧೯ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದಂಡಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೇವದೂತನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವರ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮೇಘಸ್ತಂಭವು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿತು.
20 so it came in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, so it became a cloud and darkness, and yet lighted up the night, —so that the one came not near unto the other, all the night.
೨೦ಆ ಮೇಘಸ್ತಂಭವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೂ ನಡುವೆ ಬಂದಿತು. ಅದು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲನ್ನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಬರಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and Yahweh carried away the sea by a mighty east wind all the night, and turned the sea into dry land, —and the waters were cloven asunder.
೨೧ಮೋಶೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಚಾಚಿದಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೂಡಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಬಲವಾದ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೂಕಿ ಅದರ ತಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣನೆಲವು ಕಾಣಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ನೀರು ಇಬ್ಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು.
22 Then went the sons of Israel into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, —and, the waters, to them, were a wall, on their right hand and on their left.
೨೨ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಹೋದರು. ನೀರು ಅವರ ಎಡಗಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲಗಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಡೆಯಂತೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿತು.
23 And the Egyptians pursued, and entered after them—all the horses of Pharaoh his chariots and his horsemen, —into the midst of the sea.
೨೩ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳೂ, ರಥಗಳೂ, ರಾಹುತರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟುವವರಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಸಮುದ್ರದೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
24 And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Yahweh looked down into the camp of the Egyptians, through the pillar of fire and cloud, and confused the camp of the Egyptians;
೨೪ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಜಾವದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಸ್ತಂಭ ಮತ್ತು ಮೇಘ ಸ್ತಂಭದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ದಂಡಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು.
25 and he took off the wheels of their chariots, and made them drive heavily, —so that the Egyptians said—We must flee from the face of Israel, for Yahweh, is fighting for them against the Egyptians.
೨೫ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರ ರಥಗಳ ಚಕ್ರದ ಕೀಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ರಥಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು, “ನಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರೆವು, ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗೋಣ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು.
26 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand over the sea, —that the waters may return upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
೨೬ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, “ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚು, ಆಗ ಅದರ ನೀರು ಮೊದಲಿನಂತೆ ಬಂದು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ರಾಹುತರನ್ನೂ ಮುಳುಗಿಸುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
27 So Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea and the sea returned, towards morning, to its steady flow, when the Egyptians, were fleeing to meet it, —thus Yahweh shook off the Egyptians into the midst of the sea;
೨೭ಮೋಶೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಚಾಚಿದನು. ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವಾಗಲೇ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನೀರು ಮೊದಲಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಅದರ ಎದುರಾಗಿಯೇ ಬಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದೊಳಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
28 thus the waters returned and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all the forces of Pharaoh that were entering after them into the sea, —there was not left remaining among them so much as one.
೨೮ನೀರು ಮೊದಲಿನಂತೆ ಬಂದು ಆ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ರಾಹುತರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಫರೋಹನ ಸೈನ್ಯದವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
29 But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on dry ground in the saidst of the sea, —and the waters had been to them a wall, on their right hand and on their left.
೨೯ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದರೋ, ಸಮುದ್ರದೊಳಗೆ ಒಣನೆಲದಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆದುಹೋದರು. ನೀರು ಅವರ ಎಡಗಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲಗಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಡೆಯಂತೆ ನಿಂತಿತ್ತು.
30 Thus did Yahweh, on that day, save Israel, out of the hand of the Egyptians, —and Israel saw the Egyptians, dead on the shore of the sea.
೩೦ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು. ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಸತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ನೋಡಿದರು.
31 And when Israel saw the mighty hand wherewith Yahweh had wrought against the Egyptians, then did the people revere Yahweh, —and they put their trust in Yahweh, and in Moses, his servant.
೩೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಈ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ನೋಡಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆತನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟರು.
