Exodus 11
1 Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Yet one plague, will I bring in upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, after that, he will let you go from hence, —when he doth let you go, he will, altogether drive, you out from hence.
El Señor le dijo a Moisés: “Hay una última plaga que derribaré sobre el Faraón y sobre Egipto. Después de eso os dejará marchar, pero cuando lo haga, os expulsará a todos del país.
2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of the people, —and let them ask—every man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, articles of silver and articles of gold.
Ahora ve y dile a los israelitas, tanto hombres como mujeres, que pidan a sus vecinos egipcios objetos de plata y oro”.
3 And Yahweh gave the people favour, in the eyes of the Egyptians, —even the man Moses himself, was exceeding great in the land of Egypt, —in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.
El Señor hizo que los egipcios miraran favorablemente a los israelitas. De hecho, el propio Moisés era muy respetado en Egipto tanto por los oficiales del Faraón como por la gente común.
4 And Moses said, Thus saith Yahweh, —About midnight, am, I, going forth in the midst of Egypt;
Moisés dijo: “Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Alrededor de la medianoche recorreré todo Egipto.
5 then shall every firstborn in the land of Egypt die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who is sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the handmaid who is behind the two millstones, —and every firstborn of beasts;
Todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto morirá, desde el primogénito del Faraón sentado en su trono hasta el primogénito de la sirvienta que trabaja con un molino de mano, así como todo primogénito del ganado.
6 then shall there be a great outcry, in all the land of Egypt, —such, as never was and, such, as shall not be again.
Habráfuertes gritos de luto en todo Egipto, como nunca antes se ha hecho, y nunca más se hará.
7 But against none of the sons of Israel, shall a dog sharpen his tongue, neither against man nor beast, —that ye may know that Yahweh maketh a difference between Egypt and Israel.
Pero entre todos los israelitas ni siquiera el ladrar de un perro molestará a las personas o a sus animales. Así sabrán que el Señor distingue entre Egipto e Israel.
8 So shall all these thy servants come down unto me and bow themselves down to me saying—Go forth, thou and all the people who are in thy footsteps, and after that, will I go forth. And he went forth from Pharaoh, in a heat of anger.
Todos tus oficiales vendrán a mí, se inclinarán ante mí y me dirán: ‘¡Vete y llévate a todos tus seguidores!’ Después de eso me iré”. Moisés se enfadó mucho y se fue de la presencia del Faraón.
9 And Yahweh had said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, —that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
El Señor le dijo a Moisés: “El Faraón se niega a escucharte para que pueda hacer más milagros en Egipto”.
10 So then, Moses and Aaron, did all these wonders before Pharaoh, —but Yahweh let Pharaoh’s heart wax bold, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
Moisés y Aarón hicieron estos milagros ante el Faraón, pero el Señor le dio al Faraón una actitud obstinada, y no dejó que los israelitas salieran de su país.
