Exodus 11

1 Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Yet one plague, will I bring in upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, after that, he will let you go from hence, —when he doth let you go, he will, altogether drive, you out from hence.

Yahweh disse a Moisés: “Eu trarei ainda mais uma praga sobre o Faraó e sobre o Egito; depois ele o deixará ir”. Quando ele te deixar ir, certamente te expulsará por completo”.

2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of the people, —and let them ask—every man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, articles of silver and articles of gold.

Fale agora aos ouvidos do povo, e deixe cada homem pedir ao seu próximo, e cada mulher do seu próximo, jóias de prata, e jóias de ouro”.

3 And Yahweh gave the people favour, in the eyes of the Egyptians, —even the man Moses himself, was exceeding great in the land of Egypt, —in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.

Yahweh deu ao povo um favor aos olhos dos egípcios. Além disso, o homem Moisés era muito grande na terra do Egito, aos olhos dos servos do Faraó, e aos olhos do povo.

4 And Moses said, Thus saith Yahweh, —About midnight, am, I, going forth in the midst of Egypt;

Moisés disse: “Isto é o que diz Javé: 'Por volta da meia-noite irei para o meio do Egito,

5 then shall every firstborn in the land of Egypt die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who is sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the handmaid who is behind the two millstones, —and every firstborn of beasts;

e todos os primogênitos na terra do Egito morrerão, desde o primogênito do Faraó que se senta em seu trono, até o primogênito da criada que está atrás do moinho, e todos os primogênitos do gado.

6 then shall there be a great outcry, in all the land of Egypt, —such, as never was and, such, as shall not be again.

Haverá um grande grito em toda a terra do Egito, como não houve, nem haverá mais.

7 But against none of the sons of Israel, shall a dog sharpen his tongue, neither against man nor beast, —that ye may know that Yahweh maketh a difference between Egypt and Israel.

Mas contra qualquer um dos filhos de Israel um cão não ladrará nem moverá sua língua, contra o homem ou animal, para que você saiba que Javé faz uma distinção entre os egípcios e Israel.

8 So shall all these thy servants come down unto me and bow themselves down to me saying—Go forth, thou and all the people who are in thy footsteps, and after that, will I go forth. And he went forth from Pharaoh, in a heat of anger.

Todos esses seus servos virão até mim, e se curvarão diante de mim, dizendo: “Saia, com todas as pessoas que o seguirem;” e depois disso eu sairei”. Saiu do Faraó em fúria quente.

9 And Yahweh had said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, —that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

Yahweh disse a Moisés: “O Faraó não lhe dará ouvidos, para que minhas maravilhas se multipliquem na terra do Egito”.

10 So then, Moses and Aaron, did all these wonders before Pharaoh, —but Yahweh let Pharaoh’s heart wax bold, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

Moisés e Arão fizeram todas essas maravilhas diante do Faraó, mas Javé endureceu o coração do Faraó e não deixou os filhos de Israel saírem de sua terra.
